Purchase this filter at www.filterheads.com/AQ1194C The airflow arrows should be pointing towards the cabin of the car. The audio in the video is wrong.
The filter housing lower panel is reinstalled incorrectly in this video. There are 4 tabs on the firewall edge of the removable panel that should be inserted into their corresponding slots in the filter box before securing the 4 retaining screws. When the panel is inserted correctly, the filter box will seal properly, and you can insert the the 2 screws closest to the seat without the panel dropping out of the correct position. In addition, the airflow direction arrows on both filters should point toward the seat when they are installed. The filters will perform much better when the airbox is sealed. One other thing - it's easier to completely remove the carpet trim on the console before removing the knee airbag; it makes the knee airbag easier to remove and replace. The carpet trim is held in place by one screw and some clips.
Is it a torx 15 or torx 20 that should be used? Also if I remove the negative battery connection, wait 20 minutes to deenergize, will I only have to reset the clock or will other areas like cell phone pairing , radio stations etc have to be reset? thanks
@@raybutts9133 Four-T20 screws secure the lower panel of the airbox containing the two filters. On my car, the knee airbag panel is secured by two 10mm screws. If you remove the torx screw adjacent to each of the two 10mm screws, you'll separate the lower dash plastic trim panel from the airbag, but the airbag will still be bolted to the lower dash structure; it's easier to remove the trim cover panel and knee bag as a unit. In addition to the two 10mm screws, the airbag panel is also secured by a 2 trim clips and 2 plastic tabs. The trim clips are just below the 10mm screws (about 1" down), and the plastic tabs are at each end of the bottom of the trim panel closer to the firewall. So when you remove the two screws, the two clips and two tabs are still holding the panel and airbag in place. After removing the two 10mm screws, pop the two clips out of their pockets, and gently swing the whole assembly down toward the floor. Then you can pull the tabs out of their respective slots and move the whole assembly aside to get to the airbox and filters. With respect to disconnecting the battery, I think it's a good practice, but it's not strictly necessary to complete the job; I didn't need to do it. If you're careful removing the trim panel/knee bag, there's enough slack in the wires to position the panel out of the way while you're working on the airbox and filters without needing to disconnect them. This all sounds a little complicated, but I think the most difficult part of the job is removing and replacing the lower cover of the airbox. It's hard to see the two screws closer to the firewall and you need to be a bit of a contortionist to reach them. Good thing there are also a couple tabs holding the cover in position on the far side. Don't forget to engage the tabs when reassembling the airbox; they will hold the cover in place so you can get the two easy screws started. Use care to not over-tighten the screws holding the cover, everything is plastic and can easily be stripped. All that is needed is to seal the soft gasket around the perimeter of the cover so you don't have any air leaks.

Shouldnt you disconnect the battery first due to risk of airbag deploying?
