i checked out a book on origami from the library and in the gallery section it talked about the nail clippers you made of metal after folding a paper one. And today i folded the blinking eyes model you made, i even folded a small nose on it for a little more character.
For those of you who like folding to music, this version is for you. 24 songs in all (this time none of them mine!). See the description for the song list)
You're origami is amazing!!! I started checking out your books at our local library. So glad you are now here on UA-cam!! Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge!
OMG, this is so cool. I am legally blind, but I love to do arts and crafts. I always wanted to use this kind of foil for Christmas ornaments and wreaths. Now Iknow where to find it. Even though I can't see whatSo going on in the videos, I still enjoy them. He makes the coolest stuff!!!
Thanks for you comment. I imagine origami is difficult to learn with impaired vision but at least it's very tactile. I enjoy trying to fold models with my eyes closed. Perhaps you could try models from my Easy playlist.... because the Nail Clippers are a bear to fold even with 20/20 vision.
JeremyShaferOrigami I can see colors, but I cannot see faces, or pictures. I wish your videos were a little more descriptive, although I know that you probably didn't ever think a blind person would be watching (listening) to your videos. Maybe I can find a braille book on the subject. Mostly, I just use my imagination. When I was a little girl, I used to fold pieces of paper or foil like fans, so I could do it with some practice and teaching.
Hi Jeremy Shafer. I was wondering where you got the foil origami paper package. Could you tell me where I can buy the foil origami paper please? Jess from Australia.Thank you.
YESSS! I finally made it! You’re the best Jeremy! Thank you so much! I don’t even know if I did it right, but my finished result looks so awesome! I just demoed this, I hope it’s fine.
@@wenqicao1296 i commented this a long while ago, but i’m pretty sure it didn’t. however, i remade it this year and it worked quite well. so, no for this one and yes for my latest one.
Jermyshafer you are the best I absolutely love all of your videos thank you for teaching me stuff since the beginning of your channel thank you😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Hi Jeremy! I've been folding your nail clippers from Origami to Astonish and Amuse. LOVE your descriptions in the diagrams. (i.e., “...joyfully unfold to step 9” and “...distorted street map of your favorite city”). Truly a joy to read and fold. Your diagrams are excellent and easy to follow. Haven’t folded this model in a bunch of years, but it’s a classic! Wonderful to have this video to watch, too. (After I finish 10", gonna try 6"!) Xo, M
Hi Mitzi! So nice to read from you here on UA-cam! It's amazing how long we've known each other through the origami community. I hope to make it to another BARF meeting sometime this year!
I think we shared our first ousa convention together. And, yes. You were a mere teenager (and you are still that little boy to me). I know you’re a handsome young man now, but your enthusiasm and curiosity remain the same. ❤❤❤
hey jeremy can u= i use regular foil to make this i dont have the thing ur using but i just bought foil i was looking everywhere for the foil paper ur using but i did not find it so can i use regular foil to make this
I think I'm just going to stick with the easier models and maybe later I could make it once I get better over the years. Thanks for the advice and reply!
I did it and I mastered it on my first try and it actually works and I have the silver and the gold foil I used the silver one it looks exactly like yours.
My third attempt. Wish me luck. In case you’re wondering, the first time I used six inch foil and the second time I tried to use the book(which is harder).
this is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo frigging awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You said in your book if you fold it from a sheet of Japanese foil and keep it soft with a blow torch it can cut nails I don't have blow torch so can you show do they really do this
+Danny Kong Well, I feel the the Swiss Army Knife was a rather well-done tutorial, even though it is divided into three parts. The old Nail Clipper tutorial was just showing me folding it, but without any explanation. So it was really in need of a re-make. Were you unable to make the Swiss Army Knife from the tutorial?
+OrigamiMKR Good question. The creases end up compressed anyway in the final shaping so I didn't worry too much about making them sharp. Also the sharper you make them the more you risk tearing the paper (I think).
+JeremyShaferOrigami Ok thanks!! I'll remember that when folding this. My mom is ordering me 14 inch paper tomorrow and I'm gonna try folding it. I think my first attempt might be a bit sloppy but I will most likely try again for a better result. Keep Folding!!!
Any size does not mean any shape. It has to be a square. And any size will work if you have the proportional level skill to make it work. So if if you wanted to make an infinitely small or infinitely large nail clipper, you would have to have an infinite level of skill. 😉
+jeremy shafer origami I really like your videos your so kind to make them im so happy your on youtube I have watched all your videos your also very good at origami
+Jovan Yamin I have tried to make a stapler many years ago. My attempt was to make one that works... I used brass sheet metal. It didn't really work but it came close. But OK, I'll try again and shoot for a non-working stapler that at least looks and moves like one.
+OrigamiMKR I guess so, if you carefully fold it underneath the top layer, but if you fold through all layers, then you would end up with a couple of extra creases on the top of the nail clipper and a couple of extra creases on the nail file too. I think it's a little easier folding petal fold directly and it's good practice too!
"make sure to make reaaaaaally precise folds, and crease sharply" never gets old. Love the work Jeremy
Susume denpa shonen
At first I thought it was impossible, and when I fold it, I managed to finish it and it actually worked omg
