      @@nowhereboundtouring While in lockdown, you might be doing a video about farm life. That would be interesting for a lot of people, specially for those living in cities and those who have never visited Australia. Cheers

      Gday Victor,
      Mungo national park was good, staying overnight for a couple of days is well worth it. The animal life is great.
      We would suggest paying for a guided tour, to get the best out of the park. They were a wealth of knowledge and history.
      Darling river is close by and well worth a trip up it if you like remoter style of camping and outback pubs 👍
      Gundabooka National park is exceptional.

      Gday A &J,
      Good timing, we like that…
      We are eating plenty of Avo’s, almost breakfast, lunch , dinner, and they are nice.
      As I just mentioned to Roger above, the wheel and tyre combo feels better than the ones we previously had. I would say there is not a lot of difference in “bump” feel compared to the 37” tyres, which is great, as I was dreading going back to the truck tyres.

      @@nowhereboundtouring As per my message, the alloys should reduce your unsprung weight a little and that will knock the ride around less even with the stiffer sidewalls. We have the steels with the Toyos and they still aren't too bad. It took us a while to work out the best pressures for some terrain, including sand, but Toyo were very helpful in suggesting starting pressures given our axle loading figures. We just refined a little from there and have had no issues, even on soft sand.
      Nothing wrong with avos, we use them quite a bit for cooking. And hey, if they are coming your way in good supply, make the most of it! Safe travels, A&J

    • @nowhereboundtouring
      @nowhereboundtouring  3 роки тому +1

      Hi A,
      Yes, agree with everything you have said, but I was still pleasantly surprised how good the ride is compared to previous. I am just waiting to see how it is on very rough roads, 30 to 40 km/h stuff… and sand with our weight.

    How great was Mungo National Park. I just looked it up in the map book, certainly isolated. I am assuming you traveled up via Balranald? How was the road up to where you camped? Great video guys, thank you.

      Gday Stephen,
      The road up was mostly good, as it had just been graded. The ungraded parts were rough, but ok for a van if you just slow down.

      The new tyres feel surprisingly good on road, and on the dirt we have done, so time will tell. I am confident that they will not have any robustness issues, but sand and mud……
      Oh well, at least we won’t die making it to our destination.

    Great video! Beautiful place! I have a question, how do the 19.5" and 35" tyres compare to the previous 37" tyres you had on? Handling and ride? I'm thinking of going with the 19.5 " 35" Toyo's with alloy rims as well. Thanks in advance.

    • @nowhereboundtouring
      @nowhereboundtouring  3 роки тому

      Hi Seb,
      So far on sealed roads they perform better, quieter and the ride is about the same. Dirt roads the ride and grip is about the same. I assume on very rough roads the ride will be rougher, as you can not lower the pressure to the same amount. I also think they will not perform as well in sand or mud, but they should last well and be less prone to punctures.
      Cheers, karl

      @@nowhereboundtouring Thanks for your reply Karl. I'm hoping the 35's should be the right decision for us, I need them to retain the 7500GVM for the farm but also would like to have some off-road abilities. I appreciate your opinion on this and thanks for taking the time to write. Cheers and safe travels.

      Truck outside tyre width is 2.1m
      Truck tray is just over 2.2m
      Van centre to centre is 2.1m
      Van tyre outside width is 2.3m
