In my lifetime I’ve seen history being made before my eyes and of course on TV. UA-cam has provided us with being part of a historical journey with The Warning. Although they’ve been playing together for almost 10 years and some of us have been following them for a few years, the time has come for The Warning to become what they are destined to be. I really think they are on the verge of stepping into the success that The Beatles created 60 years ago. Great reaction Rob
Thank you for doing this presentation of the first TEDx of the Warning. Most reactors only do the second one, because people recommend that one and forget or don't care for this one but it is also an important one because it was their first and is also part of their story. And you cans see the tremendous improvement from one year to the next and Ale's growth spurt and she was so talkative here.
Another thing that amazes me about these young girls is not only are they talented and accomplished musically, they all speak fluent Spanish AND English!
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, yes, the second TedX appearance is a must see. I, personally, was officially Warned watching that one and The Lunario concert back in late 2018. TedX #2 will definitely impress. You’ll probably get overwhelmed with comments on this. ⚠️⚡️⚡️⚡️
The other Ted Talk is really good The wood fly's off Pau's sticks during Survive in that one.its my favorite. Ale really makes me happy. She's too cute...🤘🎶☮️
Pre-teen Ale had no problem belting it out, as well as talking endlessly. I think she just got the ordinary "teen-age self-consciousness" for a few years, perhaps during her sudden and dramatic growth spurts. IIRC, Pau said she's never had a problem with the "talking endlessly" part, at least among family and friends. But I think singing-wise she's starting to regain her original confidence and we'll hopefully see more of that in years to come...
And to think of all the reactors that miss this performance by not being aware that it exists and missing Ale here killing it on the bass at such a young age. And also her talk about the band.
@@victorycast Yes she was! That is the most camera time that i have seen her get when she was that age. And Pau was probably already thinking about her middle finger song at this stage, from the comments that she made about people telling her that drums were only for girls.
They started working on their stage presence because of a class at Berklee School of Music in Boston, in 2015. This concert was 6 months later(2016). It has been a process. Ale's deep knee drops and hair flip came later. Dany's crowd control, laterl. Pau has always been an animal, Lol, but beating the crap out of her drums was always a natural thing for her. For a long time she hit harder because she thought she had to, to get the sound she wanted. As she got "bigger" and her wrist strength improved, she has not had to take a 'full windup' when she plays. She said she is less tired after a concert now. I miss Muppet Pau!!!
She lets it loose sometimes these days, but rarely. Seems only when she really "feels it", and then she let's Animal run free for a bit. I miss that too, but she's right - she's a lot more efficient and precise when she has more control over her movements, and also tighter on the timing.
In her Gear Masters interview, she says she changed to heavier gauge sticks to put more mass into her strikes. That means she can get more out of the impact with less work. But if you watch the MTV VMA performance of *Evolve,* she lays it on really thick there. I'm sure much of it was enthusiasm for the opportunity, and the chance to show what they could do! Saying that Pau has a bit of a sadistic side is probably pretty accurate!😄 She wrote a good portion of the songs for the QOTMS album. She's been accused of beating her drum kit like they owe her money, and it's been said that she destroyed pretty much every toy she got as a toddler. So the drums are a pretty good fit for her personality!🤣 Just an FYI, the TedX performance from 2017 compared to this one shows just how far they progressed in one short year. The fact that they were invited back goes to show just how good they really were.😉 Thanks Rob!
Somewhere there are comments from one or both other sisters that they were glad Pau took up drumming because she liked hitting things - including them!
Both TW songs are available on record as bonus live tracks on the XXI Century Blood album... and there is an amazing OMV of them playing Pretender. Check them all out. Also, their second TEDx a year later than this one is better... and it's really cool seeing how they had progressed from one to the other.
You now need to react to the 2nd Ted talk from 2017. The change in their ability to speak in public without showing nerves is huge, and the set they did in that talk was "chef's kiss" .⚡
That took some serious guts for those girls to go to a foreign country, sing their original songs and a cover in their second language, perform at a university, speak in front of a room full of adults with poise, and have fun doing it! Kudos to their parents for doing all the right things. *River's Soul* and *Exterminated* appear on their first album, *21st Century Blood,* which came out in 2017. They covered the Foo Fighters' *The Pretender,* several times. I also like the outdoor version played at sunset, live, in a vacant lot near Monterrey. As for Ale's vocals, it's as if she got quiet for a few years as her voice deepened to a rich alto and she figured out where and when and how to use it. She seems to be singing more, in more recent videos.
Later there are versions where Ale takes the lead vocal on River’s Soul. Both of those two songs from XXI Century Blood are more seasoned with their live show the Dakota Bar which is one of their standout performances before the 1st Landmark appearance live at the Lunario CDMX which ushers in QOTMS along with the songs sprinkled throughout from that 1st LP.
This video was the most watched video from that event and earned them an invite back the following year.. If you think Pau was going nuts here, you HAVE to watch the other one as well. She goes FULL BEAST MODE and breaks a stick. Also, I think one of the reasons this sounded a bit more 'raw' was because of the mix. It sounds like the recording is almost straight from the mixer so you don't get enough of the natural reverb from the hall itself.
It's a AWFUL mix, whereas the 2017 mix is better. But MANY of their earlier shows have vocals somewhat buried in the mix. At some point, they started putting compressors on the vocals, and switched to better vocal mics, and suddenly you can hear them. Lead rock vocals ALWAYS need two things: dynamic range compression, and a mic without too much boomy proximity effect. The Shure SM58 Mic is boomy on Dany's voice. They switched to an sE V7 mic and almost instantly she sounded better.
If you ever do get to reacting to interviews, perhaps one of the best and offers great insight into their life and the origins of the band and how they got their name and stuff would be the interview with Allison Hagendorf. It's an hour and seven minutes long but well worth the watch. Also, they did another Ted Talk 1 year later in 2017, where they performed Unmendable, When I'm Alone, and Survive all off of the XXl Century Blood album, Exterminated and Rivers Soul is on that album as well. That album was recorded when they were Dany-16, Pau-14, and Ale-11 years old. That is just absolutely nuts.
Another excellent interview from the archives is the 2015 interview with a Canadian interviewer. Great discussion and the 'cuteness' factor is off the scale. ua-cam.com/video/gOdapJWBCcA/v-deo.html
I think it was their first English interview. Just under 2 years before this TEDx. Their learning and speaking English had improved so much over these years.
At that age, on stage, rocking out and speaking so confidently, it's great to see. Makes you .. shall I say.. love them even more and I hope that they continue to rock out and succeed. Have decided to increase my Patreon tier up a level. Have listened to so much of their music and nothing in my country to buy to support, so Patreon is the way. Hope to one day see them live. Rock on \m/ (TWA)
Absolutely EPIC live performances!! These sisters are overwhelmingly talented! Besides being rock stars they are smart, humble, funny and the nicest people on earth! Viva The Warning!! ⚡⚡⚡
Both Rivers Soul & Exterminated are on the XXI Century blood LP as “live session” recordings. I don’t know when the recordings were made. They were written around the time of ‘Free Falling’ and were intended to be on that first EP before Sandman fame, the Ellen Show and planning for Berklee adjusted their plans. There’s numerous videos of them playing them in subsequent years. Ales sung lead on Rivers Soul several times. ua-cam.com/video/3Hx6mxPqjpI/v-deo.htmlsi=ueueAPIfGoLp04mK ua-cam.com/video/4vK6idVEy9g/v-deo.htmlsi=e7pBiwe6_4NF535I & they played both at the awesome Dakota bar show in 2018.
Like @SDsailor7 said. Plus, I've seen plenty of fans recommend the 2017 TEDx performance, and several reactors heed the call for reactions to that one. But I'm so glad you've taken us back to the first TEDx. As documents showing the stages of their evolution (as you mentioned) the two TEDx presentations are equally important.
I like your bitter no holds barred reactions. The Foo Fighters response was hilarious. I never liked them either but I never hated them. I like your being repulsed by that song it was funny. And yes, it is hard to separate the cute factor from just being engaged in either the music or the history, or both; They're almost uncanny-valley mature and it's kind of shocking. Their character was so evident from so early and they each have so much pro-social and pro-dedication quality within them that it was almost inevitable that they'd finally provide fusion power or fly to Mars or create Rock.
Talent, extreme charisma, dedication... add the incredible amount of time they spent practicing, the obstacles they had to overcome, and you get The Warning. How could anyone not admire and love those little girls, and what they've become now ? And it's only the beginning...
Ale’s bass was loud and in your face ❤. Pau had the kit and stand shaking back there I thought it would fall apart any minute ❤. Dany the leader, articulate, an old soul is a great description of her ❤.
wait till you come across the dakota bar performance of these 2 originals, much more polished but the whole gig will take you back to your 70/80's rock era, all originals and much much better sound and amazing show, girls are a little older but bring the house down, thanks for sharing!! ted talk 2 tho is where i got warned and buddy did i ever get warned, you will def enjoy the pau show
Nice surprise Rob ! They are so mature and speak English so well as a second language. They are so clearly talented and driven. IIt brings a tear and a smile when i hear their passion and talent at such a young age. If you ever watch the 2017 2nd TED talk with 3 different songs you notice a musical improvement and Dany's head banging and Pau is beating the hell out of those drums and broke 2 sticks in that video and still didn't miss a beat. Thank you, this is a great midweek treat.
In 1975, they all attended the Berklee School of Music's Summer program. From what I understand, the minimum age to attend is supposed to be 15 years old. Pau was 13 and Ale was only 10 Ale was so small that her mom had to carry her bass to class for her.
Can you believe someone telling Pau that girls can't play drums? That person may have ended up being the subject of her songs Animosity and Unmendable and got their ass kicked musically and lyrically.
Watching Ale struggle to hold up her bass guitar while she’s talking is one of the most impressive parts of this presentation. The girls are much more polished at Tedx 2017. They play Survive, which they play at Teatro Metropolitan, and Pau delivers an inspirational talk, again, ending with, for the first time (I think), “You have been Warned!”
I love that DPA have stayed true to their young selves, we can see that they have not change in their character and intentions, they just get better at what they do. I like how you explained that you don't like a song but can appreciate when someone plays it well. Thank you for that. As part of my enjoyment of watching reactors like yourself discover The Warning, I have watched them react to other artist and sometimes find the artist to be very talented, but the song just does not do it for me. I sometimes worry that people fail to separate the two.
That look from Pau at the beginning of The Pretender is everything. 🤘🏻As others have mentioned, I recommend watching the 2017 TedX Talk, if only to see Pau break a stick a stick early in the presentation and for her performing the closing of their song Unmendable live, plus it is very well filmed and recorded.
Young Pau was an absolute force of nature. Great reaction to a great video. Having all these videos is going to create such a massive community around TW as they grow larger and larger, there's so much to their origin story.
Awesome sauce! I'm so glad you reacted to this. I hope you'll consider watching the 2nd Tedx that occurred the following year. And yes, I love Pau's aggressive drumming too!
Rob, I have to echo everyone else. This was great. React to the second one next... better music, more energy, a lot of growth, one of the first Ale Stank Face (8:37), a broken drumstick, and a great performance. I'm not taking away from this one, but you are right that the music was raw in it.
Please react to the TedX Talk 2017 and see what you think! I believe a lot of us fell in love with the band after hearing that Ted Talk which included 3 songs from their 1st album XXI Century Blood!! Thanks!!!😊⚡️
Great show VC....love these TedX hope you will do the next one as well, a must see. Pau's comments were precious, "your a girl, you can't play drums" and 10 years later is "Rock Drummer of the Year"....LMAO at the naysayers. Also a little bit of "animosity" in her comments 😁😁. Love listening to the Ladies talk, so down to earth and so damn brilliant. Cheers. 😎😎
Well, like everyone else has probably said; you gotta do the second TEDTALK - I trust you will, of course that's your discretion. Looking forward to your next reaction, whatever it is. 👊⚡️🤘
Imagine que a esa edad tenian aquella fuerza y poder para ejecutar sus instrumentos y vaciar toda su energia y oresencia escenica en el publico para dejarlo muy atento a lo que ellas les envian !! 👍El Renacimiento del ROCK !! ✌✌🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I have never seen this, I don´t know why I have been stuck at the Ted talk 2017, maby it´s because I love watching Pau beat the living daylights out of her drums so the drumsticks fly around or the over all energy in that performance, I guess it´s both. Don´t miss the TEDx 2017! Ale is very prominent in this performance and they all have their "future" personas ready. Thanx for reacting to this!
FWIW: i think one reason they liked doing *The Pretender* is because it resonated with them and people telling them they were wasting time and the band would not go anywhere... it kind of fits in with their original songs *Fade Away* and *Animosity* which both speak about moving on after others have attempted to sully your drive and determination... TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
Pau at that age already hitting the drums like a seasoned vet another reactor said she was "adorably vicious" which I think describes Pau perfectly, and to see Ale getting on the bass like was so cool 😎 🤘🤘🤘
Man, just take a look at you one month ago prior to the warning, your Rock life (you can remove Rock from it) has just got better, call it as yo want, these Girls just bring joy to your day by day fking life ❤, love them
Rob, you may find this interesting, it's an assortment of clips put together about The Warning. It has bits and pieces of songs throughout but it's more of a behind the scenes video. I found it really interesting to see. I recommend checking it out to see more of Dany, Pau and Ale outside of their songs. It's called: 2023 Recap - The Warning [Clips], is on youtube channel Mike Franco. Just over 26mins long. Rock on \m/ (TWA)
Funny you say how you don't like the song The Pretender (or Foo Fighters). I say funny because The Warning's stand-alone video of that song was what actually Warned me about this band back in 2017. I'd never before seen 3 such young people play so well together. Maybe check that video out some time too. That video shoot was done outdoors and DPA played live. And I know you will agree the performance and the filming of it were top quality.
As many of the comments suggest doing the second TedX performance around a year later. Pau makes sure the drums are severely punished especially in the first song. Her one drum stick finally breaks. Their growth in one year is scary. Their speeches are better and smoother. All three are beyond their years in smarts, talent, musicality, song writing and composition and public speaking. They claim they were nervous but it doesn't show. And Rob I'm sure we all would appreciate watching your reaction. The second TedX is titled "You've been warned." Maybe the origin of that phrase, by your girl Pau.
Hey Rob, love the Teddy R line! You’ve aged well. Thanks for your reaction to this. I’d not seen this one before and thought your comments on Dany were very well said. Like others say here the 2017 TedX is really a great watch and cool to see how these girls grew as performers in just one year. Also, yes their 2 original songs here are on their XXI Century Blood album which came out the next year. Lastly, you mentioned being able to see an interview or documentary about them. This is Tidal Rising: The Warning. It’s 20 minutes long and is a great watch. It’s recent enough and won’t give away any songs you haven’t heard yet. It would be a great watch to see you learn about them and their personalities. Thanks again. Another great, authentic reaction! The bass line on The Pretender is not easy. And yet Ale nailed it with ease while danceing around the stage. What an amazing talent these girls are.

Isn't Ale one of the coolest 11-year-olds you'll ever see !! I like this video because she gets on camera much more than normal.
Ale kills the bass on River's Soul
And she does it after losing her Inearz just a few moments into the song. Plays pretty much the entire song without her right Inearz.
No problem.

I love seeing Ale sing.
26:11 wow, I never knew there was a upper level of audience !
I will check it out
I think it was their first English interview.
Ales sung lead on Rivers Soul several times. ua-cam.com/video/3Hx6mxPqjpI/v-deo.htmlsi=ueueAPIfGoLp04mK ua-cam.com/video/4vK6idVEy9g/v-deo.htmlsi=e7pBiwe6_4NF535I
& they played both at the awesome Dakota bar show in 2018.
Like @SDsailor7 said. Plus, I've seen plenty of fans recommend the 2017 TEDx performance, and several reactors heed the call for reactions to that one. But I'm so glad you've taken us back to the first TEDx. As documents showing the stages of their evolution (as you mentioned) the two TEDx presentations are equally important.
this tedx is fun and a good beginning ,but the second one is awesome
I like your bitter no holds barred reactions. The Foo Fighters response was hilarious. I never liked them either but I never hated them. I like your being repulsed by that song it was funny. And yes, it is hard to separate the cute factor from just being engaged in either the music or the history, or both; They're almost uncanny-valley mature and it's kind of shocking. Their character was so evident from so early and they each have so much pro-social and pro-dedication quality within them that it was almost inevitable that they'd finally provide fusion power or fly to Mars or create Rock.
Yeah I cringed when they said Foo-Fighters
It's so funny at this time Pau thought she was the middle child in hight. Now Ale towers above both of her older sisters LOL.
Adorable sweethearts!!❤❤❤❤
wait till you come across the dakota bar performance of these 2 originals, much more polished but the whole gig will take you back to your 70/80's rock era, all originals and much much better sound and amazing show, girls are a little older but bring the house down, thanks for sharing!! ted talk 2 tho is where i got warned and buddy did i ever get warned, you will def enjoy the pau show
Nice surprise Rob !
Yes, Pau enjoys beating on those drums, she gets her frustrations out. She has mentioned it,
❤😊 I really loved this reaction, pleace react to TEDx second part from the Warning two years later from this show 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Hahaha great reaction and glad we could enjoy this with you
If you think Pau hits hard here, you need to watch her on the 2017 TEDX performances. It's ridiculous! It's also very informative about their story.
There is a version of River Soul where Ale sings the lead vocals. A true gem.
One of my favorite things about TW is how never fail to put a smile on my face as well. ⚡️
In 1975, they all attended the Berklee School of Music's Summer program. From what I understand, the minimum age to attend is supposed to be 15 years old. Pau was 13 and Ale was only 10 Ale was so small that her mom had to carry her bass to class for her.
1975?? somehow that seems a few years too early 😜
2015 👍
Can you believe someone telling Pau that girls can't play drums? That person may have ended up being the subject of
her songs Animosity and Unmendable and got their ass kicked musically and lyrically.
People like that need to find their own joy and leave others alone.
Ted 2 will be done
Rob, I have to echo everyone else. This was great. React to the second one next... better music, more energy, a lot of growth, one of the first Ale Stank Face (8:37), a broken drumstick, and a great performance. I'm not taking away from this one, but you are right that the music was raw in it.
That Guitar danny has is her birthday Gift of 13 years old
Please react to the TedX Talk 2017 and see what you think! I believe a lot of us fell in love with the band after hearing that Ted Talk which included 3 songs from their 1st album XXI Century Blood!! Thanks!!!😊⚡️
many many requests, it will happen.
Great ! I love these Tedx Videos from them.
The one from 2017 has cuter Ale, more philosophical Dany, and more kick as preacher Pau. And the last breakdown is gold.
BTW the tempo changes are deliberate not a result of youthful inexperience. They are playing to a click track.
Pau at that age already hitting the drums like a seasoned vet another reactor said she was "adorably vicious" which I think describes Pau perfectly, and to see Ale getting on the bass like was so cool 😎 🤘🤘🤘
Man, just take a look at you one month ago prior to the warning, your Rock life (you can remove Rock from it) has just got better, call it as yo want, these Girls just bring joy to your day by day fking life ❤, love them
I am so grateful I decided to check them out, almost an obsession. I look forward to doing my videos since I still will not listen ahead.
I really love your reactions because you tell it like it is 👍🏼🙏🏼❤️
Rob, you may find this interesting, it's an assortment of clips put together about The Warning.
Thank you
Simply incredible as always. ♥ TW
Loved this reaction
In the 2017 TedX they do When I'm Alone and Survive. It's cool comparing those versions to the Teatro Metropolitan versions
Now you need to do TEDX 2018!! Its gettin better!
The Warning for ever🤘🤘🤘
Ale! 😎
Wait until you see the animal destroy her kit on Unmendable in the second Tedx
Check out their 2nd TED visit. Pau finally explodes a drumstick.
I know exactly what you mean about the Pau stare. She's definitely different in very good way.
Dany in a SKIRT!

Thank you for the link. The Teddy line was goofy but that's me. My wife just rolls her eyes at my humor. hahaha
@@victorycast Man, honestly, I hadn’t gotten around to watching this particular video until I saw that you reacted to it. And enjoyed your reaction again as I always do. Keep doing you! 🤘
@@RipThru Thanks man
hi, great reaction.
...and then the next year they did a TedX again in the same place, this time bringing 3 original songs from their first album, three great songs of which 2 are still playing today. and Pau came back unlashed...
and with better sound in general.
It would be great if you could react to that too.
⚡🤘⚡🤘⚡🤘
I agree it’s seems when they were a younger band Ale’s voice was turned up more.
Wow, two for Tuesday and now warning Wednesday you’re making my week and by the way, you should’ve noticed that I was sitting next to you at the TEDTalk. We just come back from San Juan Hill so thanks for reminding me.
My friend... The Warning and Michael Starr LIVE/Highway to Hell (Eric Moffat) please
Ah - they are already inspiring other artists! There is another power trio from Kelowna, British Columbia who has been looking up to The Warning for years, learning to play guitar by watching Dany. They just released their first song, at ages 16 for the lead singer and 15 for the drummer and base player. Freeze the Fall, Glitch: ua-cam.com/video/RY26QDUn9dE/v-deo.htmlsi=1tNsa4bbwWfro2bD
I did a reaction for that... good band.
@@victorycast Huh! I searched for that before I made my comment but didn’t find it.
They are releasing their second song on March 14 and the EP in early April.
Well, because I failed on that one…. Here is the lead singer from FTF covering Pau’s song Breathe. Pau said she would never play it in concert because it was too emotional, but did recently do it on their 10th anniversary Pepsi Centre concert. @@victorycast Why are you interrupting me finally watching your “Ugh Amour” Twofer Tuesday reaction!!!? 😉😅 (I was literally watching it when your response popped up on my screen!). Yes, I did finally find it and watched it again! Thanks for giving props to a promising band that is local to me. Doesn’t even matter where they are, I just want to see good rock, and these bands are our future!!
