This prayer is important in context. Abdu'l-Baha sets a standard. When we are told to be a flame of fire to the enemies and a river of life to our friends, it is by the exact same actions. The behavior prescribed is the behavior that has the best possibility to allow enemies to become aware of their error. This is their instrument of salvation, but usually not pleasant to become aware of one's errors. Consider Saul, who became Paul, after an excruciating revelation.
