I was reading the book of Sarah out of the Mormon book one day just to see what their words sounded like. Without the Spirit of discernment, I wouldn't have known that it was not out of the bible if someone just read it to me, but thankfully I do have it and I have studied the bible so I knew that it did not reflect the words of God. The same can be said when you hear any artist. What they look like will be the first attraction, but then you have to hear what they say.
