Mate, I make music. I think you should contact your GP for that. (jokes aside, everything has different taste and preferences, I think that's normal to fell at ease with a particular style. Actually, as a musician, I am the 'odd' one as I make music of different styles and don't seem to be confined by genre)
My gp died after trying to help resolve my issue . Honestly i can play any rhythm with practice by can only lead to fast bpm . I find it strange because i love jazz but my timing when leading to it is way off . Unlike this , hands down im really good at this .

How do you do it?
Learn the scales, then memorize where the root notes and chord tones are and emphasizing those notes while playing the scales is a good start id recommend learning the major scale modes first

when improvising there are no rules like a certain number of notes per string or finish and start in the tonic I will use the pentatonic scale and the normal scale of E minor
Also sounds good if you play Eb note over the B chord....like play a run and finish on Eb over the B.
