I just knit my first of these gloves, and I love it. I can't wait to finish the second one, which I'm sure will be 10 times better. I also did it on circular needles as that is all I was able to find in my grandma's stash, and I was able to follow along just fine. I just made sure to shift one stich along the divisions each time to avoid laddering. Super cute, and I know my sister is going to love them :)

I've been looking for an excuse to get DPNs, and other pattern tutorials are never as clear as yours and I am a bit biased considering your channel was the one that convinced me to start knitting in the first place! So thank you from a 14 year old knitter, Davina!

I learned to knit on your Harry Potter scarf, then tackled the slouchy hat, and just finished my first mitten!! Successfully, even! So proud and happy with the result. Thank you for making the daunting stuff do-able and explaining in such a clear way. The most helpful thing you do is explain while you do it, then take it out and show it a second time. That always helps me get it. You’re the best!

this looks so awesome! I am so happy I found your channel. As a beginner I have so far found so many answers to so many of my questions in your tutorials. I really appreciate that you take us through the pattern step by step because it really provides so many teaching about so many things at the same time, not just how to knit a particular garment. I knit continental and with cables (circulars) but I believe that I can follow this pattern and project even with them.

18:41 It sounds like the pattern says to knit 2 rounds even and 2 rounds of increase.
Love your videos. I always doubt my pattern reading.

Ahhhhh! I live in Alaska and wanted to knit a pair of mittens and came across this. At first, I felt like a useless duck with a bunch of DPN’s. I’ve used double pointed needles before, but this? This is a whole new level. And at the beginning, I was all like, ‘yay! I get to do something that looks fun!’ At the end, I was like, ‘ Noooooo, wheeze moan glug, this is so harddddddddddd.’ But this video helped me so much! Thanks!

Just one question. In min 19:00 when theoattern says work 2 rounds eve than work increse round 2 times. How do you that means do the entire routine 2 time rather than 2 increase rounds ine after the other? Thats whats always confuses me in patterns those things that can really go both ways to my understanding... thanks :))

Can I use a circular needle to do the knitting in the round in the beginning instead of three double pointed needles? Thanks for your video!!

So I made this and it was kind of fun. I'm kind of new and have only made a (complicated, to me) blanket, a sock, and some scarves. This was my first time trying a mitten. Unfortunately, I used cotton, so the glove is kind of flat, not as much bounce, looks all kind of stretched out (I'm learning). Even so, it looks like a mitten and is wearable!
I changed one thing to make this easier on myself. I don't like starting a needle with a purl stitch, and since it's a four stitch pattern, I did a multiple of four on each stick. So 16, 12, 16. 12 on the middle one because that's where all the increases are.
Thanks so much for such a good tutorial!

Glad it was fun for you! Yeah cotton unfortunately doesn’t have much stretch or bounce. If you can get your hands on some wool that would be most excellent!

Great tutorial. Im not sure where I stopped following to a T but my mittens turned out way too baggy but all stitches were correctly placed. I also did this tutorial without double ended needles if anyone short on supplies was curious about going to buy some.
