4:58 ah yes, the giant hunk of a man (terry) gliding peacefully to your live location... truly a masterpiece of lore! (but seriously, it's great seeing you continuing to build on this wonderful project, developers like you are who i aspire to be. an honor to be a mod for the growing Earthward community ❤)
Very nice! Piecemeal world generation with json is an excellent choice and looks like it'll serve you well! Including "random" elements is another plus that I've had serve me well in the past as well; it lets you think less about the exact "bespoke" content and more about the templates, as it probably should be. I will add that while it's good that people can use the free GMStudio 2 to mod things, you might consider adding an in-game editor at some point for extra modding accessibility. Obviously whether the actual increase in mod reach (as opposed to % of modders who by nature are willing to download GMS2 to that end) is worth that sort of tradeoff to you, is your call, but it seemed worth suggesting.
Local online multiplayer was such an important thing in magicite for me, i remember strategising with my friends about perks and weapons, which classes we will choose and things such as that, adding multiplayer is a great idea as human behaviour is inheritly emergent and instantly makes a game fun, i hope you keep this in mind, good luck!
Nice, prefabricated rooms for proc gen is a great way to balance the issues that come with proc gen. I need to make more proc gen stuff, it's too cool not too. :)
The new level generation feels a bunch like roguelands, which I feel like is for the better. As cool as magicite is, the rooms being super cramped was just really annoying at points. It's a shame to see you won't be adding true multiplayer, but I'm looking forward to someone possibly modding it in.
This project looks awesome and I'm shocked it hasn't received more love, it definitely deserved it!
After 9 months, he has returned!!

This looks extremely well made so far man, keep it up! (Subbed)
I love this. I was a huge fan of magicite. I can't wait to see the development in the future.

Will be trying! I would have to write the netcode myself and it would take a long time to get it done right and integrate it with Steam
@@RiptideDev_ Yeah, for sure, the last magicite update totally ruined multiplayer so it must be very hard to integrate
This project looks very good, continue with its development, it will be successful
I absolutely love game dev and magicite, this is perfect asf.
Reminds me of Magicite, pretty cool
looks cool
The legend HAS RETURNED!!!

HE IS COME BACK!!!!))))))
Hey there! I'm curious as to what you're doing for the music of this game? Are you composing it yourself? Or does it not have any music currently?
Maybe add some variation in hieght for the trees in the background :)
Do what Magicite could not (be playable into the future)
If you don’t mind me asking, how are you implementing lighting in GM?
Hey! I do lighting using a surface and shaders to blend colors. I'll elaborate more on this in the next video where i talk about lighting
@@RiptideDev_ I’m definitely looking forward to that. I use surfaces as well with blend modes.
