I've heard of similar setups using water sprinklers. People feed the deer around us, I hear, but they still come into our yard to feed. I was in the garden this evening just before sunset when a neighbor walked by to warn me there were deer in the yard. They were eating something in the yard (acorns?) about 15 ft away. We looked at each other; I waved; we all went about our business--them eating, me harvesting tomatoes. 😂 One did eat all the leaves off a yam plant a couple of weeks ago, but none since; nor did any eat either of the other two plants I had growing elsewhere in the garden, oddly enough.
I HAD a deer and bunny problem, but the wife and I solved it. I had a section of the yard where the grass never does well. I covered that section with chips and compost and went to tractor supply and bought a clover and grass mix for deer, and another for chickens with other grass varieties and such. Then she started throwing the carrots and apples that we had way too many of out in that part. Now the deer and bunnys eat there. She also has the doe where it will eat from her hand, which was good because she was not doing well earlier in the year. She had twins and they were taxing her body badly. I am getting ready to head out where I know there to be American chestnuts, as well as chestnut oaks, and gather as many chestnuts and acorns as I can carry to help her out some more. Plus try to grow some more trees, especially the American chestnut. We have some scarlet oaks around the house, but those acorns are not very big.
@MntViolet wow, that's so funny. I actually grow rosemary as well, but it's on my deck nowhere near the garden. Creedmoor may be splitting some rosemary plants very soon, LOL! Awesome tip😁

@@velvanae feed her pumpkins to help get rid of parasites too and lots of nutrition in the pumpkin
I use Rosemary to keep them at bay, I plant as bushes EVERYWHERE

@TheBabcocks I'll try that suggestion, I have some trimmins I can shake about.
I'll probably hold off on telling my kids about the cannon, though..🤣
