The priority for the Jays has been crystal clear from the moment they lost game #2 to the Twins in October 2023. That was to replace the Shapiro-Atkins team. As that did not transpire, none of the things the team has needed to do to avoid a melt down, including signing Vladdy, can be accomplished. I'm a long time Jays fan but I won't watch another game until we have a new front office!

It seems he is still trying to figure himself out. He is a hot\cold player as well which means not always dependable. How do you value a player like that? We want HRs from Vlad after Vlad comes out and says he isn't a HR hitter but a line drive hitter. It's possible that Vlad could be seen as an avg to above avg hitter but not a great. Them recently low balling offer to Vlad Guerrero at 340 Million I think this is actually the offer from ownership group And them not going up close to what Vlad wants, is saying ownership is not going to budge .So the ownership basically wants to move on from Vlad Guerrero and Bo Bichette because they know are going to receive too many years and too much money when they reach free agency for their liking in a year . Just like the ownership and Atkins Shapiro wanted in the past to move on from Josh Donaldson when he was up for a fairly big raise in money per year The same for Juan Encarnacion and Jose Bautista when they were up for a big raise per year about 20 Million per year . Though these players were much older than Bo And Vlad but it is the same philosophy of the ownership group. Now Shapiro and Atkins have to get cheaper Vlads and Bos though they have drafted poorly so that will be tough to do

Betrayal utter nonsense, In the only 3 years Vladdy saw playoff action 2020, 2022, 2023 a total of 6 games, he had 22 at bat with 3 hits for a .136 ave. and 1 rbi. In 2024 he only lit up in the last 4 months of the season when Jays were already out of the playoff scene.

It's truly ashame that they didn't take the offer the Mariners apparently put on the table at the trade deadline last season. It's time to move on from this failed experiment, trade off anything that is worthwhile and build for the future. They're already in for multiple losing seasons, so whether they're just below .500 or 50-112, what does it matter?
I think Vladdy should freeze Toronto out and end all negotiations and announce he's going to test the free agent waters.
