Sega Apollo 13 Arcade Pinball Machine 13 Ball Multiball!!!!

- This is the best game Sega made (IMO) with Starship Troopers at #2 and South Park at #3. Unbelievably in this game I managed to complete all modes (due to some fluke bounces into the mode start hole) getting "Master Alarm" mode which doesn't happen often, I also got a 13 ball multiball! Considering that I lost the ball without touching it it was a surprise. The actual 13 ball multiball (skip to 4.00 for the start of it) is a total waste of time as you just drain 8 of them in 3 seconds but its great fun and a fantastic feature, love it!! I also like the start of standard multiball as the shaker motor cuts in and the sound effects are great. You can't hear them when the 13 ball starts but if you skip to 9.25 for the start of normal 3-ball.

In 2021, nickelodeon actually played the Apollo 13 movie for the 1st time in nickelodeon history.
The 13 ball multi ball is cool, but if something went wrong with the actual ball return mech, I bet fixing it would be like trying to drive a toaster through a car wash.
That's hilarious, 13-ball multiball may be the silliest thing I've ever seen in a pinball machine.
"WHY CAN'T I HOLD ALL THESE PINBALLS?!"
It's an interesting gimmick... but only a gimmick.
At the time the Apollo program was cancelled, I think the last planned Apollo mission was Apollo 20... a 20 ball multiball.
Got to play this as my first ever game of real pinball. Very exciting seeing other people get the multi balls and hearing all the quotes from the movie.
grew up playing this table at my grandparents house and just watched the actual movie last night. so weird that they made a pinball game based on actual people almost dying in space. the music and sound effects are great tho
4:15 ... the beginning of insanity. I want this table!
LOL @ 5:40, LESSON: it's not over till it's over! You caught a natural death save but probably looked away in frustration and didn't see it.
I remeber the 1st time I got this, when it said "we are go for 13 ball play" I was like... erm what did that say lol, then when the count down started I was like oh shit! I pretty much shit myself and didnt have a clue what was going on lol.
That 13 ball multiball was insane Matt! Love the sounds effects on this pin. First time I've seen it in action, so thanks for posting!
13 ball multiball starts at: 4:04
Today it has been 50 years since the real apollo 13 space craft got launch into outer space
Awesome achievement, I was watching a programme about it the other day, still amazing what they achieved!
Thank you for liking my comment of the real Apollo 13 space craft launch and it is an honor for you to comment my message.
The grand multiball overflows the table with many balls!
Maybe we should start a petition online and send it to the makers of Pinball Arcade to get Apollo 13 launched (no pun intended). Loved the film. Never had the chance to play the table for real. Decent pinball tables are hard to come by in my part of the UK. I'm saving up for a new Stern table. I will get there eventually lol.
I'd love to see Neil Shatz try to do a cradle separation during the 13 ball multiball. XD
Was at a pinball parlor with some friends, one of them is still pretty new to the game and he mentioned wanting to see a table with a 10 ball multiball. My other friend and I who play a lot, were really sad that there wasn't this machine to blow his mind. XD
god i love pinball. i have a 1988 williams jokerz, 1986 williams high-speed, 1980 williams FIREPOWER, a 1994 data east royal rumble and soon a 1991 bride of pinbot. im probably going to sell the data east soon. i eventually want a sterns star trek
4:02: Hang on tight for grand multiball!
joguei muito Apolo 13 aqui no Brasil.
Saudades dos velhos tempo!
There is a machine at the pinball expo in Beaumont, CA but it is broken.
Thanks for showing this video of a great pinball machine. I played this game once and fell in love with it.
Just in case you dont know, there is a 3d pinball simulator out there call Future Pinball and is available for free. On another FP related site you can grab this apollo 13 recreation digital table. Just one of thousands to choose from. I know it wont replace the real feel of the actual pniball machine play but they do a pretty damn fine job of it :) One of the best free games out there IMO.
Hi, yes, it's sitting in my garage right now, come round for a game! Matt.
Oh do I ever miss playing this game. A local Chuck E Cheese used to have this game, but then they moved to a different location and chose not to take this game with them. I did happen to find an apollo 13 pinball machine in Appleton, WI, but it was out of service due to a bad circuit board. Boy was I really mad. I haven't played this pinball machine since 2002 and I can't find one anywhere now.
First video of this multiball I've seen yet, pretty cool! Doesn't it have the option to raise something in-between the flippers for a few seconds?
Oh, and you could've saved the ball at 5:41 ;-)
There is a post that rises between the flippers for about 8 seconds but as soon as you raise a flipper you still lose them down the side. I see what you meant about that ball, weird, you don’t often get another chance once they have drained down the side, I had probably looked away, well spotted!! Matt.
Ditto. I hope they manage to get all the licences needed to get this on pinball arcade. SEGA don't make pinball machines anymore but they do still exist. That is some hope at least.
I had to repair an Apollo 13 twice! I played a lot on it and in my opinion is your opinion the right one! (Apollo is the best Sega!)
Oh, tough one. At the moment the 3 I play the most are AC/DC, TAFG and Who Dunnit, been playing Congo quite a lot as well!
does your moon magnet work? I didn't see it operate once in the whole video.
i have this game, it has a board issue. i should be getting the boards back from being repaired soon. im looking forward to getting it working again. it has a LED DMD
absolutely awesome
13 balls=pure anarchy
@tattyadams how hard would it be able to find one of these for sale?
I haven't seen one come up for a couple of years, your best bet would be to join a forum (Pinball Info in the UK or Pinside in the US) and post a wanted ad, good luck.
I loved this game, too bad the flippers weren't powerful to actually handle the 13 balls and in majority of the cases the 13 ball multiball turned into 3-6 ball multiball in seconds :) I have lots of fond memories of this one :)
The music for Apollo 13 is very different from the typical Brian Schmidt BSMT2K composition (e.g., Batman, Hook, Star Wars, etc.), as it goes for an orchestral feel.
I SO NEED THIS VIDEO!
Always wanted to know, what are your three favourite machines, that you tend to play more than the others?
OH MY GOD!
Przepraszam ale gra delikatny kapusniak jak na to patrzę jak byłem mlody i grałem w to to masakra bylem bez porównania bylem bardziejszy ale nie miałem jak tego nagrać nie te czasy nie fine takich jak teraz 😉
Yes, you do drain a lot of the balls almost instantly in 13-ball, but I've still gotten or lit quite a few super jackpots!
Ive got this at my house lol
I can't belive that you apollo 13 have multiball with 13 balls!
You can't! 8 will drain straight away, it's fun and a great gimmick though :-)
I've never seen 13 ball it before!:-)
tattyadams get ready,i will can to let 10 balls drain in apollo 13 and let 3 balls in play.I'm will held 2 balls with flipper, while i play with one ball!
That is awesome to see. Made me laugh.
Thanks Larry, its mad isn’t it, totally pointless but great at the same time! Your right, great quality sound as well.
Very good
A melhor máquina
@tattyadams I do love the music on this game, by the way!
4:15 Duders
Too bad this is a Sega machine and will not come up in The Pinball Arcade...
Sega became Stern pinball. Starship Troopers is a Sega pinball game but it's in Pinball Arcade.
Yeah the rights issues will be to do with the movies and the actor likenesses and voice actor rights. Stern now holds all of the copyrights for the actual game designs.
Well good thing this game has nothing to do with the movie.
Except for, well, you know, everything in it
Stern Pinball owns the rights of all the Data East and Sega Pinball machines as Gary Stern ran both companies before he bought all the assets.
How can you post a video of 13-ball without making the super jackpot shot? :( Easy billion there....
They've shouldn't make a sonic the hedgehog pinball machine while sonic was first debuted as a new official mascot in 1991 because it was made by the same company sega that did the original sega console called a sega master system and sega genesis
13 pinballs in one table?!
the biggest multiball in pinball history. No other pinball has pulled this off after Apollo 13
Can you send me the original footage of this?
Do you actually own this machine?
I need this do bad!
Try Future Pinball for pc. Its already available there
odlican peraj
is it worth buying as first machine for 2500 usd?
If it's in good condition, fully working with the proper shooter handle, I would say so
@@tattyadams it doesnt have the handle, its a push button but rest is good
@@tattyadams is it a big problem if it doesnt have the handle?
Well it would make it worth less as the handle is (supposedly) a replica of the launch handle on the actual rocket which is kind of cool. Often missing as its a convenient thing to grab hold of when the machine was being moved around!
Because I'm rubbish!! ;-)
Isn't it kind of cheating to start with 7 BLASTOFF letters lit?
Sort of but it remembers how many were left in the last game so whoever starts a game gets the letters awarded to the last player, luck of the draw really! :-)
MrEnabranTain It isn't uncommon (at least for tables of that age) for a game to carry over the big spelling bonus from game to game.
How the hell does that machine fit 13 balls in it is what I'm worndering.
HI, it has a normal 6 ball trough but stores another 8 at the top of the playfield, its quite a clever mech really!
