I just bought these, my first pair of noise-cancelling headphones,a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't aware there was an app for them. Thank you so much for helping me understand what's going on. Also thanks for explaining each tab thoroughly and not going through them too quickly. You're the perfect explainer for this non-techie subscriber!
I gotta say the XM5 is very comfortable when you wear it. I bought a pair of airpod max and i ended up return it. Its so heavy and bulky. Glad i got this sony headphone!
Great video! I just bought my first pair of noise-cancelling headphones. I was going back and forth on which to buy and was recommended these over the Apple pair. Grateful I took that recommendation. This video helped me set everything up. Thank you!
I like it but I think it's better with 16k at +1 and 6.3k at +4 with brings some mids back without drowning anything else out. Great review, appreciate it. Take care!
Excellent video sir, very informative and very clear and easy to understand. I really appreciated it as I've just got these headphones and learning how to use them. So far they are the mutts Nutts 👌
My only complaint on these is I wish the cushions were thicker for better seal. And the headband ,maybe make them foldable . Other than that the sound is great
I brought a pair of these after loving my WH-1000XM4, seen all the reviews saying the noise cancelling is better then the XM4 but after sitting here side by side next to a portable heater/fan with the XM4 you can hardly hear it, with the XM5 you can hear the heater much clearer, Made sure all Noise Cancelling was on as you can tell the difference very quick but I can't get the XM5 to block out as much as the XM4 did, even sitting here tying this I can just hear myself pushing the keys where XM4 I could not at all. Is that how it should be or is mine just a bad headset? The noise cancelling does still work on the XM5 but the XM4 smashes this pair I have on now out of the park for noise cancelling.
lower frequencies are canceled less than befor, but higher ones are canceled more... And you have nearly no hissing sound anymore when ANC is turned on which discovered sounds from the outside. So it might seem like they are worse, but they are not. Go to a street and compare both. You will notice that the 5s ANC is more comfortable, because high pitch noises are more discomforting than low ones.
@@Alex-bl8uh I gotta say, I completely disagree. The 5s are not better just because they cancel higher frequencies a little better. The lower frequencies are the most disturbing and need to be blocked out as well as the 4s to be comparable in ANC. It's also incredibly annoying that the 5s don't allow you to adjust the strength of the ANC because they clearly increase their strength in noisy situations like on an airplane to block out more noise, but it's not user-adjustable.
Interesting. I’ve never used any before. These XM5s render my house literally nearly silent. No fans. No nothing. I’m very much wowed. I wonder why there’s a difference
Hi thank you so much for this video. I have questions how to increase sensitivity of microphone I bought this headphones but no one can hear my voice when I'm at street. Please HELP me I'm so upset
@@CEONTHEMAKING Your welcome. We need more of these tutorial videos for the Sony headphones. The Sony headphones have so many pieces to them, that you need help when you are a beginner. Some people are not even saying everything in their tutorial. I keep going to the tutorials to learn how to use it. It is not a quick learning thing.
I had a chance to do a deep dive comparison between these, B&W PX7 S2, and the Sennheiser Momentum 4. I have to say that out of the box the other two sound much better than the Sony with the B&W taking the top slot but after eq'ing the Sony just sound so good with a very balanced and open sound and to me sound better than the Momentum 4 and right up there with the PX7 S2
@@josephkhamphanpheng8344 I'd be happy to. Depending on what I'm listening to these are my top two eq's: Clear bass: 0 400: -2 1k: 0 2.5k: +4 6.3k: +4 16k: +3 Clear Bass: +3 400: 0 1k: +6 2.5k: +8 6.3k: +5 16k: +5 I'd be interested in hearing what you think
@Joe Honestly I feel like they're pretty well rounded. I'm a little more of an audiophile so I try to get as much background and separation in my music as possible and for the $500 and under price point the XM5's do very well. If I had to choose music categories I'd say they sound strongest with Rap/R&B, Vocals, Pop, Rock and Latin. The bass is hard and the mids and highs sound clear. One of the things I love about them most is the 5 Band EQ. Some of the custom settings I've put together have made more complicated pieces from Eric Clapton, Snarky Puppy, Chick Corea, and Avenged Sevenfold really come alive. I've played around alot with some of the other heavy hitters under $500 like B&W PX7 S2, B&O HX, and Sennheiser M4 and the Sony were the most well rounded. To me they sound clearer than the M4 and bolder than the HX. The only set that sounded arguably better was the PX7 S2 (not by much) in all genres except rap/hiphop, but when you factor the better call quality on the Sony it becomes another win. The only BT one's I've used that sound better are the B&O H95 and Focal Bathys but they're way more expensive
@@MrJ.31 I love the first EQ, to me it sounds the most catered to my preferences. I also like this EQ for songs that are mixed with more dull instruments: 400: 0 1k: +4 2.5k: +6 6.3k: +2 16k: +2 Clear Bass: 0

Good explanation. I want to make sure: If voice detection is on and you start speaking, does it pause the music or lower the volume.
It pauses the music

they seem to lag out quite often and keep cutting the sound, can you help me please?
