I was lucky enough to go on a chartered walleye trip on Lake Eerie when I was young...at the time, I had no idea those would be the biggest walleye id ever see. I got a 14.something lb, a 17.9lb, and plenty in the 8 to 12lb range. And...at the end of the day, the charter captain said, "sorry bout the slow day" and gave us half our money back. One of the guys with us even got a huge brown trout and another got a rainbow. The Lake Eerie eyes are like no other...so many huge ones in there. And dang do they ever taste delicious! I remember the sheephead being all over the harbors of Eerie even way back then. Turns out the charter captain was a relative of one of my friends i ended up going to school with. Powis is the last name. If he still does chartering on Eerie, i highly recommend him. I have seen photos of him on my friend's fridge in the water with a 600+lb goliath grouper removing the hook by hand. He has been all over the world catching the biggest fish.
Also...we were just trolling Wally Divers, if I can recall, planer boards to get em way away from the boat path. Cannot remember the depth, but deeper the better, is what I remember. We were out far enough it was 6+ foot swells all day long. Lots of guys getting seasick, but i am lucky and dont get it. Deep enough you had to pkay them slow or they would have swim bladders explode and eyes bulge out if you brought em up too fast.
That's a beautiful Walley! I bought two StongEye spinners at the Angling Sports store in London, was thinking about ordering from the website, but was a happy surprise to know they sell those at the store there 👍🏻 The spinners look really good, can't wait to use them!
11:43 Antonio, what are you doing?! A good fishing partner would stop fishing, reel up, and help with the drift sock, then have the net on hand, ready to help land the fish!
We like to call those sheeps (drum) Lake Erie tuna. Nice walleye! I picked up a monster Walleye this past May, 11.5 lbs, 33 inches, on a blade bait in relatively shallow water (25-30 ft), out on Lake Erie. I didn't realize how massive it was until it surfaced. It took my bait while I was reeling it back to the boat. It didn't fight too hard, but it was challenging fitting it into the net!

So glad you found them at Angling Sports - you are going to love them :)
Maybe one of these days Antonio will offer to buy gas or something....😅
😮Massive walleye! The duo slamming Erie. Great video
Do y’all fish by the islands?
...We are on the Eastern Basin so there are no islands here, but if we were fishing the western basin, we would definitely fish around the islands :)
Are you going to get a mount dine??
*done
....no :)
