Thank you for the time and effort you have put into this review. It’s the best, most complete and honest review out there. You have answered my questions and have given me a better understanding of this rope. 5/5 jumps for you!!
I first tried this rope at my CrossFit gym and loved it so I bought my own. I agree that the feedback is good so stringing double unders is easier. The handles are comfortable and feel secure. This is my go to rope and I have several.
Joseph, thanks for checking out the channel. I agree on all fronts. It's a solid rope, particularly for double unders. I've never been to a CrossFit box, but I'm sure this is a popular rope in the CrossFit community.💪🏽
Definitely. I think that's where they make their money - on people buying the cables over and over again (especially since the cord wears away) and also customizing new ropes for themselves and others as gifts. It's much different than Crossrope. I think that Crossrope may make their products a little too durable and their handles have lifetime warranties, so they get less frequent return customers. That's probably why they had to start charging for their app!
You should review their EVO rope. I think that's the most expensive rope out there at $125-150. As you've mentioned the Crossropes are expensive but at least you're getting a set of well built weighted ropes. The EVO is just a single rope. I've thought about getting it but just can't justify that much for ONE jumprope.
What's good Nathan. I've been looking at the EVO. You're right - it's expensive. I've heard it's excellent, though. I'll have to get my money up to review it 😂. Rogue has an expensive one as well. It's $129!
I'm using a $9 chinese clone of this. Search aliexpress for "jump rope adjustable bearing high speed cable". Heavier cable rope with ergo handles and swivel links is one of the most user friendly designs. Doesn't lose much flexibility below freezing temps as you said.
I thought about this rope when I first started. Seems like a legit rope but I wouldn't be able to get what I want out of it. I need more feedback plus I wouldn't want to smack myself with that cable. Lol Plus, I'm getting more into tricks now. Wonderful review per usual. Thank you.
Hey thanks mate. Just bought mine down here I’m Australia. Now I’m double excited thanks man nice chill review right on. Motivated to do my own now 🙏❤️🤙
Great question. Beaded jump ropes are good. They offer more feedback and weight which is good if you're trying to work on coordination. I think that both of those options are good choices.
The coating for me is starting to wear also. Are you in a northern part of Canada? It's stood up to southeast Michigan cold pretty well, but depending on where you are in Canada, I can see how it wouldn't be able to stand up to that kind of cold.
@@JumpRopeVeteran They said it also could be the mat, but that may have been an attempt at an upsell too. I use the EliteSRS jump rope mat. I don't think that could be the issue.
@@JumpRopeVeteran I know Rager recommends wrapping the contact area of the rope with duct tape. I may try that to try to prolong the cable I have right now. I am in Calgary, Canada. It's a dry cold here. Around 32F to 14F.
Okay, I think this is the rope in looking to get. I train MuayThai and don’t look to do crazy tricks, just the standard boxing things. Good review. I’m 5’7 what size rope do you recommend for this one ?
Dan, I cover it briefly in this video and still stand by what I cover. I've been wearing these shoes since 2018. amzn.to/2AR1byj ua-cam.com/video/Li8VRLCVuJA/v-deo.html
This is the rope that Glen Rager uses (Rope Rage). I have four of them. He does a lot of one arm swing. I am a smaller framed guy than him. I feel this is a little fast and heavy for someone of my physical strength. Even when doing backwards DUs I've hit myself and went down a few times. Also the handles are too big for me to comfortablely do one arm swing so I am only using this rope to learn DUs. Also, if you are an experienced jumper, the sizes they recommend for your height are probably off. One or two sizes too long. The first set of cables I bought were 8'10". The second set are better at 8'8". My beaded jump ropes are typically 8'4", so I could probably go another size down.
Jim, that's good to know about the sizing. It's one of my main drawbacks with a non-adjustable rope. Everyone is different and a sizing chart doesn't necessarily capture that. I hit myself yesterday and nearly went down lol. It was painful, but I still like this rope because of the weight and the smoothness.
That's a close call, but the Rhythm Rope wins out for me. It's much simpler and easier to use for me. It's also easily adjustable. I prefer an adjustable rope over a non-adjustable rope.
Nice review, but this had me cracking up: "Seems like there’s a ball bearing in there" Dude, you can literally see the whole bearing from the top 😂 Also it would be nice to see a comparison of this vs some of the identical ones on AliExpress.
J, I appreciate you coming by the channel, and I'm glad the review brought you some comic relief. As Russell Brand says, "well thank you for the casual objectification!" I could be wrong, but I think you're talking about the swivel bearing. The swivel bearing is definitely visible. I was talking about ball bearings inside of the rope to make it spin the way that it did. I'll keep the comparison between the AliExpress and this rope in mind. I greatly appreciate you stopping by the channel and taking the time to watch. It means a lot. Take care and have a good one! 💪🏽
@@JumpRopeVeteran thanks for replying, and I really like your content! I might be a bit more used to seing bearings as a skateboarder, but you can see the whole bearing on top of the handles, all the circular metal pieces are the top of the bearing itself which seems identical to a regular 608 bearing used on skateboards 😉 might even be user replaceable if they should break.
You just schooled me up. I appreciate that. I'm always looking to learn something new. Skateboarding sounds fun. I tried it in middle school but failed miserably. Respect to you for sticking with it. Thank you for the kind comment as well. Take care. 💪🏽✔
Great review. Great rope. Have a few of the rx ropes...fully agree with you, the only gripe is that the ropes are not adjustable ...but overall great ropes!
Kyle, thanks for watching. You're right. They have a vast array of colors. I may need to get a replacement so that I don't have to keep using the knots.
Todd, it depends on what you're looking for. This rope is faster than a lot of the Crossrope sets and does better than the Get Lean with Double Unders and speed. Both brands are excellent.
I think Rx has been around since 2008. I'm not sure how long Crossrope has been around. A comparison would be a good but expensive video haha. This seems like the best way to package a rope so as to not crimp it.

Rope rage Glen uses them ,nice review
Thanks Robert. Nice. I didn't know he used this one.

My favorite thing about the rope is the customization. I love being able to chose my cable color and weight and handle color style

Thank you for a great review of the rope I have purchased last week and still waiting for.
Goran, thanks for watching. I think you're going to enjoy this rope. It's one of my favorites.

Yes, if you're looking for complicated tricks this isn't the best rope. It's one of my main workout ropes though. I've gotten a lot of value from it.
Hey thanks mate. Just bought mine down here I’m Australia. Now I’m double excited thanks man nice chill review right on. Motivated to do my own now 🙏❤️🤙
You bet. I hope you enjoy it, and thank you for watching. JRTF.
is this rope heavy..? how heavy is it..? been looking for the one that has a same weight as crossrope get lean set (white rope)
Hi Damian. This rope has the 3.4 oz Buff cable. RXSG sells 1/2 LB and 1 LB (Kronos) ropes as well. I have the Kronos. So far, it's pretty good.
Hi, what do you think about Beaded jump ropes? Buddy lee has one. Also there is EliteSRS beaded rope with same handles as ProFreestyle.
Great question. Beaded jump ropes are good. They offer more feedback and weight which is good if you're trying to work on coordination. I think that both of those options are good choices.
My cable coatings have already been falling apart. I am in Canada. I also jump entirely on a mat. The cable can't handle Canada cold.
The coating for me is starting to wear also. Are you in a northern part of Canada? It's stood up to southeast Michigan cold pretty well, but depending on where you are in Canada, I can see how it wouldn't be able to stand up to that kind of cold.

I use the same mat as you. I agree. I don't think the mat is the issue.

Sounds like a good idea. That sounds much colder than the Detroit area.
Okay, I think this is the rope in looking to get. I train MuayThai and don’t look to do crazy tricks, just the standard boxing things. Good review. I’m 5’7 what size rope do you recommend for this one ?
Dan, RXSG recommends height plus three feet. Whichever size corresponds to 8'7 should be the one you get. JRTF. 💪🏾`
Jump Rope Veteran thank you, can you speak on whether or not we need a certain type of shoe to be able to skip rope better? Does it matter? Thanks
Dan, I cover it briefly in this video and still stand by what I cover. I've been wearing these shoes since 2018. amzn.to/2AR1byj ua-cam.com/video/Li8VRLCVuJA/v-deo.html

Great Review I'm Definitely getting one 👍
Awesome. It's a good one so far. No complaints. 💪🏾

Great question. I like the EliteSRS mat.
nice review!

Great Review 👍 👍
Thanks, Sam. I appreciate the support .💪🏾
Do you prefer the Rhythm rope or the RX Original?
That's a close call, but the Rhythm Rope wins out for me. It's much simpler and easier to use for me. It's also easily adjustable. I prefer an adjustable rope over a non-adjustable rope.
What is the name for the ropes? And the cable?
David, good question. It's called the Rx Smart Gear Original Jump Rope. You can find it at rxsmartgear.com or on Amazon.
Thanks!
You're welcome!

Great rope.

Thanks a lot for your support! The non-adjustability is tough, but the rope returns a lot of value despite that!
You can buy different cables at their website for $16

Is it better than CrossRope?
Todd, it depends on what you're looking for. This rope is faster than a lot of the Crossrope sets and does better than the Get Lean with Double Unders and speed. Both brands are excellent.
Very similar to Crossrope packaging. Not sure who copied who

🩵🩵🩵 I'm getting it in sm because I'm only 4"11
