Moura 4 Mine Disaster 1986 - Narrative

  • At about 11:05 a.m. on 16th July 1986 an explosion occurred in Moura No. 4 Underground Mine in Central Queensland. That explosion later to be known as the Moura No 4 mine disaster claimed the lives of 12 miners who were extracting pillars in the Main Dips Section. Their bodies were finally recovered on 23rd July 1986 after an extensive recovery operation.

    Excellent video of a tragic mine accident. You seem to cover mainly Australian mine disasters. Have you done Any UK ones ?

      Hi Joss, Only one I covered was the Oaks Disaster 1866 but I did that in VR not as a video. The reason I am doing the Australian (Queensland) disasters is that I have a sponsor supporting them as a collective. To use in mine safety training.

    Awesome work mate. Have you considered covering the pike river tragedy! Would be amazing to see your work on it.

      It's on the list. Box Flat probaly next one as it is coming up for 50 years next year. Pike River still sensitive so Mark the sponsor & I wanna consider that before we start.
