  • Canyons, rappels, swimming, hiking, down climbing… How hard could it be?? To close out our summer, Genasee and I adventure down to the stunning Zion National Park for 3 days of canyoneering. We love getting out and using our fitness outside of the gym! 🏃🏼‍♂️🥾 Which canyons should we explore next?!

Epic Video. Canyoneering is fantastic, You Killed it!!! Mystery and Subway were my first two canyons I did in Zion National Park as well. They are two of the most popular and very scenic canyons. Awesome that you had the chance to see it. Come back and visit Utah again sometime 😀

Hey Cole! Always look forward to the content you and Genassee put out! You guys are always so positive and inspiring. Hopefully you'll see this, but I had A HUGE question...I recently was Diver Certified and would LOVE to add canyoneering as another hobby. How'd you guys get started?

    • @ColeSager

Thank you! Genasee's family has climbing experience, so they taught us everything we needed to know! I would recommend finding a climbing gym and they might be able to help or at least point you in the right direction. There's a lot of overlap between rock climbing and canyoneering as far as the technical skills - you mainly need to be competent in rappelling.

Looks like an amazing trip. What guide service (if any) did you use? I think I want to steal this trip for me and my wife!

It was an awesome trip!! We actually did not use a guide service. Genasee’s brother is very knowledgeable and her family has a decent amount of experience. And commercial guiding is not allowed within Zion NP. But I believe there are canyons that you can explore just outside of the park that you can get a guide for. Though I would still recommend this trip even if you don’t go canyoneering!

Where in Zion is that???? I've been a few times cuz it's close to home and we would love to experience that area!

These are in 3 different canyons: Mystery Canyon, Orderville Canyon (they both feed into the Narrows at the end) and Subway Canyon which is a bit northwest from the main Zion park / visitor's center area. Highly recommend! Just keep in mind you need to get permits for all of them!

Ha! That’s like watching the Blair Witch Project before going camping in the woods:).
I love Moab. My family and I got through there every other year.
