Man I appreciate this, I broke my leg in December and it required two surgeries with tons of plates and screws. I was in great shape leading into the accident and now one month after being released to walk again it’s been such a struggle to see myself back to where I was before.

Wow, you're an inspiration James. Anyone who complains about alleged systemic obstacles should watch this video.

I‘ve watched many of your videos and you did not look like you were someone who went to hell and came back. A car accident or any serious illness is a nightmare for anyone who never wants to stop lifting weight. Glad that you made that switch. Otherwise the world would have had one less great teacher in bodybuilding.

Hi James, its Greg from France. I am 58 yrs old and using elastic bands for my fitness and well being. Your story inspired me a lot as last November in 2023 I was hospitalised with tonsil and larynx cancer. Thankfully I am « clean » now, nevertheless the 4 month recovery was long and difficult due to the chimiothérapies that completely weaken your body,…,but not your mind. Again, your real life story does inspire me and keep boosting fwd and I am sure for most of the people that follow you. Keep up and be strong !!

Hey Greg! First off, happy to hear that you’re well on your way on the road to recovery!
Thats awesome that you were able to extract some inspiration from the video. I know that when I was in the thick of everything that’s what I was looking for - someone who had been through something similar and had made their way through it.

So glad these talks are back. James grage theory from 2017 was my favorite and a huge help for me.

Awesome! Glad you liked it. I've had a lot of requests to bring the podcast back but truth be told I started to wear out on the podcast concept (headphones & mics) 6 years ago. These days it's 100x's more saturated so I was looking for a way to have the same kind of conversations, without the traditional podcast format

Glad you liked it. I’ve had a lot of people ask me to bring back the podcast but there’s definitely more than enough podcasts in the world today so figured this would be a good format to achieve the same goal

This video was actually really good, it happens to all of us especially being an author or whatever your profession is having to take a couple of steps back to move forward, it really knocks you back sometimes so your video was a great reminder to just keep taking thoses steps forward and to not ever give up whatever it is that you are doing so thanks for that

I have partial damage to the supraspinatus tendon due to excessive training and performing risky exercises for the rotator cuff, unbeknownst to me at the time. Now, I'm unable to train and I feel depressed. Any type of workout, even simple push-ups, exacerbates the pain, which contributes to my depression. I undergo expensive shockwave therapy, but to no avail.

It's a great story--either you throw in the towel, or you push yourself to try to get back to normal (by working out, making small daily gains). I've gotten many good ideas from your vids, also vids on 'Mentzer/Yates' type high intensity vids, and I also do some 'knees over toes guy' things. Are you in FL? would be cool if you met up with kotg and did a vid together. I also follow Jay Vincent (he's in FL).

Yep. It's not what happens to us, it's how we decide to handle it.
Yes, I'm in the Fort Lauderdale area. One of these days soon I'll coordinate a meet-up somewhere and we can all grab a workout, etc
