I absolutely love the Booktube community. Everyone truly is so welcoming and genuine and nice. Like you, I started in the beauty community which was difficult... It was hard to make friends because I felt that everyone was competing for subscribers, views, and likes and everyone was so judgmental. But I'm so happy I decided to be apart of the Booktube community because it's honestly one of the best UA-cam communities (:

Being a fan of your beauty channel is what brought be to your booktube channel back in 2013- and I must say- your booktube videos are much more passionate than your beauty ones ever were (in the best way possible)! Hey, I was just curious what kind of camera do you use? I have wanted to start a booktube channel for over a year now but the camera I use doesn't have a tripod that fits it and I want good quality videos without overspending for a really nice camera. Can you recomend something that I can use?

I'm right there with us Zoe! Making a beauty channel is just a lot harder because of the shade that gets thrown at you so often. I am starting out with book tube and I already enjoy these videos way more than other videos! I have a February book haul video up if anyone wants to check it out and give me pointers :)

I am so excited that I have found the BookTube community. Just from watching the videos and getting to experience all of these amazing people has been so great! I'm starting up my own channel now and can not wait to start making friends and becoming a part of this community. I filmed my first ever video today and I didn't know if I was going to enjoy the experience, but I loved it! It was so fun to be able to talk about books. I've already said it, but I'm so excited to have found this wonderful community!
I agree with you, the BookTube community is way more friendly and welcoming than any other I've found on UA-cam. I've sort of made friends so far....sort of....I definitely want to make more! That's why I joined in the first place! I thought BookTube would be a place where I could meet people and actually connect unlike other communities on here.

Zoe, how long did it take you to be comfortable and confident to upload on UA-cam? I've always wanted to but I'm just so anxious. Also anyone can answer this question, I'd appreciate the answers. :)
I'm brand new to the whole uploading experience. I just decided today that I would sit down and film a Taylor Swift Book Tag. It was SO much fun! I was really nervous starting out, but once I got started, I loved it. I really enjoyed myself and can't wait until the video goes live and I can share it with people. My advice would be to just sit down and record a video! Go through it and edit it. If you don't like the way it turned out, you don't need to publish it! Just give it a go and see how it goes! :)
