I definitely don't believe the kids died in the fire. Way too many coincidences and suspicious lack of action from the local authorities.
I think the kids were stolen and the local authorities were paid to either help cover it up or to keep their mouths shut.
Poor Mr and Mrs Sodder :( I can't imagine having never gotten any answers.

Agreed. I do think the kids may have been killed shortly after due to the media coverage even back then. If they had lived, I think at least one would have come forward at some point. I don't think they died in the fire though.

The main thing about this case that keeps me from dismissing it as a tragic accident is the length of the fire. Burning a human body to ash is so difficult. What's the liklihood that a house fire would burn hot enough that it could have burned all five bodies to ash in 45 minutes??? A lot of the other stuff is just circumstantial, but that is one very concrete piece of evidence that strongly suggest the children were not in the home when the fire started.

I've seen videos done by morticians, it's my understanding that in a professional cremation the body is burned around 2000°F for two hours, body fluids evaporate and soft tissue burns but bones and teeth are left. They are then ground in an apparatus called a cremulator before the cremains are given to the next of kin. So it's odd no bones were found, and the Sodders' billboard stated there was no smell of burning bodies, which I think would be a TERRIBLE smell

Yes! I personally am interested in hearing more about the Tennessee Children's home society. Thank you for sharing the Sodder children story. I had heard about them through the Hillbilly Files where they actually traveled to the site of the fire. Such a horrible tragedy for this family & them not knowing their whole lives what truly happened.

It has always been my personal belief since I first heard this story years ago that the theory about Fiorenzo is the most likely case. I think that the kids were taken to Italy or Sicily and adopted out separately and told that their parents and other siblings died in the fire.

No remain at all would is really weird, and I'm saying that as someone who wrote an essay on a cemetery for infants from the 3rd century, where these small bodies were cremated, and we still found remains in the tomb centuries later (and it's a site with a lot of water, so a lot of objects in the ground were moved and lost through the centuries) I'm pretty sure the children were kidnapped and raised to not reveal their identities or contact their parents, or they would die, and that's why the men said they weren't the boys, and the letter was also probably the boy trying to tell his parents they were alive without getting caught. It often happens with kidnapping of children that they are too afraid of the kidnappers hurting their family for them to try to contact them or escape, so it could be possible. And the Mafia is very scary, there's an Italian journalist alive today who have bodyguards and never sleep in the same place because he made an investigation on the mafia.

I always thought the children had to have been taken.
And to those who say the children would remember something... well they might have, but out of context and everyday life, such things can be set aside as dreams or nightmares.
Children are vastly adaptable and will accept truly unacceptable conditions as commonplace. If life is continuing happily and naturally, there would be no reason to focus on vague memories.

How sad that they never found out what really happened 😢
It's so creepy that people want to see a place of such tragedy.
The part that is the weirdest about this is the fire chief not responding, acting like there was no urgency. And then all the lies.
Their loyalty to Michelini is crazy.

Great video :) such a sad but fascinating case. Here are a couple of additional interesting facts if you’re interested. In regards to the picture of Louis that was addressed to the mom, Jennie, she did had a brother named Frank Cipriani, who could be “brother Frankie”. The Sodder family had initially suspected him because he lived in Florida. There were witnesses who saw the children get into cars with Florida licence plates. Even the Sodders believed this theory that Jennie’s brother took them because it would’ve been someone they knew. Also, her brothers knew Janutolo which makes it very suspicious that they were working together. Thank you again for a great video.

I don’t think the kids where in their room because at least one of the kids would of went to the window or they would of heard screams from at least one kid, the fact that there was…Nothing! That’s not even adding ALL the other evidence that says they weren’t there during the fire, poor family, and on XMas day too. I also think the Fire Chief buried that liver(he thought was a heart) because of his own guilt, he was probably told not to go to the fire because the house wasn’t to be saved, but thought everybody would make it alive, I don’t think the ones in control told him what happened to the kids, he was just told to keep his mouth shut

I believe they were kidnapped and that the fire was punishment for George being anti-Mussolini. I'm guessing the kids were told that their parents and the rest of their family died in the fire and they were likely taken far enough away that they didn't see newspaper articles about them being looked for. Much more complicated to do nowadays.

They had gotten separated when they were younger and it was by people like that woman . May had been her! I can’t remember but yes, that would be interesting. I know around the thirties and forties a lot of shady stuff when on involving young children. Sad. I tend to believe the Sodder children were taken. And the fire was set by whoever took them. So very sad.

I've never believed the children died in the fire. Five children and no one heard them scream from fear? No one saw any sign of them breaking out windows upstairs trying to escape or trying to get down the stairs? No way. They were stolen and the perpetrators hoped the parents would die in the fire.

  • @zyxw-oe8hg
    @zyxw-oe8hg 3 місяці тому +2

Yeah how the heck would you find soft tissue such as an organ, but yet not one single piece of bone in the fire rubble... I always thought someone high up with power wanted children very badly and somehow fixated on the sodder children. Taking the youngest ones would be perfect in that scenario because it would be a lot easier the manipulate them into thinking that their family died in a fire or something and they were adopted, also whomever took them would have more time with them at home before growing up and moving out. Most logical theory I've been able to come to over the years, especially with such utter disregard from the community officials and police and fire. Seems like everyone besides the community leaders where trying to help this family.

That game that you talk about at the beginning sounds like a way to track/collect information about the population disguised as a test for your relationship.

As a housefire survivor, listening to the story of the night of the fire is tough. Keep having to pause it, but I’m too invested to stop completely 😅🤣

Its wild how often men want to punish other men for having a negative opinion of them or their beliefs, & they use insane violence or attacks & insults to "prove" they are actually good men.

It "might" have been after the end of World War 2? A quick check says it was three months after the end of World War 2, but the USA was very afraid of the USSR and still maintained a large occupying force in western Europe at the time. Firefighters might indeed have been in short supply.

I don't think kids died in fire, I think someone took them before fire and then lighted up the fire. And somehow local authorities were involved in the whole event. I think father of the kids pissed off some wrong people.

The lack of interest in solving the disappearance of the kids , or finding out what happened to them, by the local authorities , definitely make me think their responsible , or they helped cover -up a crime . What I don't understand is , why the Sodder family were targeted !

my feelings: since the children werent seen even before the fire, they likely were taken, or killed and their bodies tucked away. it is still weird that no bone fragments would have been found. however, they were small children and wouldnt have the same bone structure as adults.

So many questions! Why didn't the children yell someone when they were being kidnapped? When they got to where they were going why didn't they say something? Even if they ended with Georgia Tan, they it seems could say something. Why wasn't the gal asleep downstairs not taken also?
    Thanks Sommer!

Clearly they were paid not to come.

How evil are people to know the pain this couple was going through and yet proceed to lie to them about what happened to their children. This is so sad
