@@rahumor7556 personally I'd rather emulate it, but the 2nd game has a lot of amazing QoL things the first game didn't have. The first still has a lot of unique mechanics that keep it from being overshadowed by 2, but when replaying for nostalgia, 2 is my first choice.
This was the first game I got for the ps2 when it came out and I never knew how to upgrade the weapons so I made it to the dark genie only doing 1 damage to him so I gave up. Later on in my life I picked it up again and figured it out and beat the game. After that I figured out the broken dagger glitch and maxed everything out lol
I still haven't beaten them, I relied heavily on ruby's(was that their name?) Weapon that I loaded with each element and simply blasted any monsters with the element I assumed they were weakest too, and I unfortunately didn't grasp how to make a winning combination at that point, and died.
Hah, that moment when your playing prof. Layton and the music reminds you of dark cloud... And you realise level 5 made both games! Spooky, but it shows how amazing their music production team is.

I had played over hundreds of games before I played this one and my highest playing time on any game was about 60 hours give or take. This game was the first to make me play, on my first run through, over one hundred hours and I loved every second of it.
I miss Dark Cloud 1 and 2 I wish somebody would do a complete remaster of both of those games and bring them to the PlayStation 5 I hope someday that it will happen it needs to happen these were two phenomenal games

There was a really good article I read like a week ago. It was called Level 5 wants Dark Cloud 3 as bad as we do - or something along those lines...

I still to this day will never sell my copy of this it still works every song they used felt like they put their soul into u can tell they put there love into this game I'll never sell it and if I'm able always replay it still haven't beaten it idk how to make my weps stronger fkr last guy I had a dark geni sword did nothing on him and got one shouted by the skelly
Best moment for me was learning the broken weapons cheat and getting my top tier weapons to wreck every boss there was in game much earlier 😼... PS4 versions lets you do it if you bought the game. Just be sure to save before you do it though or you might glitch some unusable items that you can't get rid of.
Correct. They're starting with Ni No Kuni, arguably their most popular title as of now. But Dark Cloud will always be one of their most beloved series.
They should have made the fight with mouse-genie in the sun giant a duel. The beats of this song motivating you, nothing can stop you from pulverizing the genie into dust! Seriously though, they should have put more duels into the game. They literally just scrapped the idea after Owl Forest and never used it again until boarding the moon ship.
I think a duel for each dungeon would have been great, like fighting the cannon in the shipwreck before you need Ruby, or making an interesting duel before you start fighting the Minotaur to pump up the crowd.
Me: "Only one day before school starts and I have half of my summer homework left to do. Hmm... I think I need some really good and really powerful working music to motivate me...." ... ... ... *_I know._*

Or the clown boxes in the second one. I'd rarely if ever get the weapon, and when I did it was always awful.

For me in dark cloud 2, mimics and king mimics didn't start showing up until sweet, scary, Treasure chest in the underground channel
