I dunno about anyone else, but personally I am such a big baby I refuse to watch ableton tutorials from almost anyone else, because yours are just so good! That's probably why everyone would rather comment and ask you, your videos just feel like I am non-stop pouring new creative unique information juice into my brain at a speed no one else matches
i was trying to create some kind of granular synth in sampler and i was stucked with this problem. and later i came up with such solution (i felt like a genius haha), its too bad ableton doesnt come with such feature out of the box :(
@@ddobr Honestly after 10+ years of using ableton in various ways, there is a lot of thing that i dislike. Workflow/signalflow wise, they made/make weird choices, for me. Those are limitations, sometimes its cool for creativity.
Actually someting productive a.f. I've tried before. I would love to go even crazier with this. I do wonder if it's documented well in the manual though.
Been putting this housekeeping off for ages, don't suppose anyone knows of a way to control warp mode of multiple instances of simpler without clicking through each instance of it in the drum rack? Or at least to have a default slicer for each warp mode rather than the slicer defaulting to Re-Pitch. Ned touched on "Dropping Samples" but I feel like that would require a different user preset to be switched in every time.
Great tutorial, many thanks. Didn’t realise you could do this with sampler too. I’m currently trying to find a way to slice an audio recording on the fly without using a keyboard or mouse. I’m halfway there thanks to Clyphx but I’m stuck with only one choice of preset.
honestly the preserve warped timing button when you slice audio still confuses me greatly. i've read the manual on that part and i guess it's basically just if you want the slices to be warped or not, but it's like when and how should i even use that to it's full extent.
Is there a way to slice to a midi track and crop all the samples at the same time? Why? because for similarity search it will compare only with the slice and not the whole audio file (that's what I'm finding)
how comes you just didn't select the preset you made wrong and edit it then rename instead of rebuilding every time ? you had brain freeze didn't you ?

3:30 That "No time at all..." was personal!
Love you Ned. Thank you for this video, was looking exactly for the tutorial by you on that topic.
Mappable start position with Sampler: Aux > peak ; Destination A = sample offset > 100

You really do learn something new in live every day. Will abuse thank you
Nice one Ned, another tool in the box. You can disable the warping when you "Slice to new Midi track" de-select Preserve Warped Timing.
I am quite new to ableton. I appreciate this dude.👌
thank you ned for causing my CPU to explode ☝️☝️☝️
Awesome technique to slice own drum rack
10:00 "The bloody snap is on!"
Thought the same xD

i THINK warp was selected as on because that's what it was set to in the original sample you were slicing....
awesome ableton lets play episode
I too like jungle
I approve of both.

Does this same process work for Live 12, I can’t seem to save custom preset to Defaults folder in 12
Yes you can.
What version of live is this in? I tried in 10 and... 😢
Live 11 but I've been doing this since Live 6 so try again.

wow, what did you do to your voice? It's so painful to listen to. Did you distort it and boost insane amounts of top?
Your thumbnail is TERRIBLE
