RISING FLOOD WATERS!

Living in southern coastal Oregon, flooding is not uncommon! In fact, it's normally an annual occurrence!
Towns, houses, and barns are built above flood level or on stilts. Farmers know when to move their livestock from their pastures to high ground.
Certain roads are seasonal, and our community learns to know what roads will be open or flooded, and at what water level.....And we all learn when to stay home.
Local businesses know calling in "flooded out" like they do "calling in sick."
...But sometimes things don't go according to expectations, and today things got a little more serious-a lot faster than I expected!
Even after a decade of living here and watching and calculating the speeds and heights of our river, from what rain amounts today, it surprised me!

Oh my goodness! You are one tough lady! I can’t believe you got Kingston and his ladies to cross one stream let alone multiple streams! The kids and I watched your video and they got a kick out of seeing a lamb from our farm on UA-cam (especially one going through a journey). Such beautiful country!

Thank you so much Jessica! It was quite a day! And not even close to how I thought it would go! My thought was; I would walk them all out, talk about what would flood and then get footage the next day of all the water! LOL I did that...only added some swimming I had not planned on!
SO happy you and your kids got to watch! Kingston is SO Beautiful! I am so impressed with both him, and his first lamb crop! I can't wait for mid February!! All 14 Ewes are due within 2 weeks! eeeek!
