A strong actor in a beautiful movie full of ideas and support that the spirit of justice is stronger than the law and it needs a kind of human nobility and sophistication to understand and apply it.
Fine movie and we’ll acted and photographed. Touches upon the cruelties and challenges of life and the complexities they present. I believe the Bible scholar judge was better prepared than most to render Justice at that trial. Observing justice is a rare event these days, it’s welcomed even if it’s only in a movie script.
Richard Widmark with Tommy Rettig (original Lassie) Nick Adams (Johnny Yuma the Rebel) James Drury (The Virginian). Felicia Farr (wife of Jack Lemon - 40yrs)
As the sheriff remarked," 3 days without food or water", and yet the hero was clean shaven, wearinv spotless buckskin outfit. The artistic director must of had a day off.😂
He's fair haired so you wouldn't be able to notice 3 days growth even if the no food or water is not relevant to being clean shaven. He'd shave with is always honed buck knife anyway. And Buckskins don't stain easily & certainly not over 3 days, besides he'd had no food to drop & stain them. And who would care anyway ya' picky doink?
You obviously know nothing about lawmen then or now! Just grinding a very dull axe without a handle, much like yourself, very dull with no handle on reality.

OR an "Act of Will" sometimes the spirit is irrefutable.

Yes,american lawmen, nothing changed much……
Yes, another typical American bashing European opinion. 👎
