I live in the Midwest and have wanted to visit Dolores for years, just to walk through Colorado Norton Works. Beautiful Norton restorations!

@@chuckjacobs-arizona7698 Their website has a whole section of photos of their restoration projects. So many beautiful bikes, but way too expensive for me.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you 😊 My Grampa back in the late 20's had built with his friends a stone building with a stone wall around it. Wall, maybe 2 feet high. Right uptown. Guess it's all gone now. My Daddy was born there. Have 4 or 5 generations buried in the cemetery just outside of town. Haven't been there in decades. 💙 Thank you so much

You are most certainly welcome, Blu.... I'm glad to do it. Dolores is still pretty unspoiled, and it hasn't been ruined by the tidal wave of newcomers coming to Colorado. Cortez is still okay too, but Durango and Telluride are completely unrecognizable from what they used to be....

Thanks for this tour. Next time, see if you can go up road 30, which crosses over the river and heads up past the town cemetery, and then ends at the Mancos Highway. My late dad was born on some property near that intersection in 1920, and when my oldest brother was there a few years ago, the log cabin our dad was born in still stands - hidden behind some mobile homes and trailers.

Hi, John.... I was actually up there, just didn't video that part. We were only in the area for a week, so I obviously couldn't see everything there was to see. Thanks for watching and commenting....

Wow, I have not been out there since 2020. It's beautiful during fall 🍁 and if you lucky you see during the winter.

Dolores hasn't changed much. It's still "small-town Colorado." I like it....

Central Ave is the original Hwy 145 through town. Current Hwy 145 was where the Rio Grande Southern RR tracks ran through. When the RR was pulled up in the early 50s, it became new Hwy 145. The Dolores General Store (which is a hardware store) was a Chevy dealership until the mid 80s (notice the OK used car signs).

I lived there decades ago. Not much change except the Galloping Goose did not seem to be in front of town hall/the old depot. Is is now gone?

The Galloping Goose was over in Chama, NM making a "guest appearance" on their narrow gauge railroad over there. I missed it too. As always, thanks for watching and commenting....

I was there some years ago but got kicked out of the forest because of fire dangers.

We stayed in an RV park on this trip, but we did check out some possible boondocking spots....
