Maybe you should do a video on how Toronto is a public transport nightmare with archaic infrastructure
With the way people in Toronto drive cars/trucks I can't say I blame them.
So being a shitty cyclist is a valid response to shitty motorists? 🤔
@@JohnnyStrides So being a Karen pedestrian is a valid response to shitty cyclists?
@@Zacs1993 make stupid comments, get an appropriate response lol
@@Zacs1993 lol are you the comment police? Again, say something stupid and you'll get an appropriate response.
@@Zacs1993 Your case being... you disagreed with my response to a very insulting and inappropriate comment on my channel (last I checked.. it's not yours) lol. I'm free to handle things how I please. Do keep telling others how to run their lives though 🤣🤣
There’s tons of construction and poor drivers, I don’t blame them
So that gives them a free pass? Find a better route or walk your bike on the sidewalk then... it's easy enough to get across downtown safely on a bike.
Bike lanes are new people use to ride bikes on sidewalks for decades definitely longer than bike lanes have been around
@@JohnnyStrides sure, but I think for a biker it feels safer* to be on a sidewalk in downtown, then what it feels like to be in the road. Bikers usually don’t kill walking pedestrians, but cars tend to kill bikers
I blame them. If they are too scared to ride I'm the street then they should leave the bike at home and find another way.
@@orphicflaneur Cyclists still create dangerous situations whenever they ride on the sidewalk. It's not an excuse to be an asshat...
Video also shows vehicles parked in the bike lane. I wonder why cyclists aren't using it?!
Front street is a death trap for this. A lot of these guys have no respect for the speed.
as a skater, i just know Johnny would put me in his cringe compilation
this wouldnt happen if there were fully separated and protected bike paths
Notice how there's cars in the bike lanes in half of these
Putting the E in Excellent
Literally shows a car parked in bike lane as he complains about bikes on the side walk. You are complaining about the wrong group of people.
Nope, biking on the sidewalk in Toronto makes you an asshole.
Because people feel not safe riding on the road, so they choose to ride on sidewalk. For example my near area, outside the downtown, Markham,Scarborough. At these places places. Here are no bike lanes. No people ride a bike on Finch, Kennedy or Steel Rd.
What about the bus/bike lanes on Kennedy and Midland?
I live in Ottawa and ride on the road, but Toronto streets are intimidating and risky as hell, so I took to the sidewalk the only time I rode there. Toronto drivers are a menace.
Why don’t you say something to them than big mouth?
Ahhh. It’s food delivery. They’re heading to the bike lock. I would let it slide. Good delivery. The 2nd pair looked like homeless people.
No excuse. It's a sideWALK not a sideBIKE...
Getting food or other things delivered should override people's safety? The Police can't catch the people as they are going so fast most times. The bikes and escooters are going TOO FAST to stop in time to avoid someone turning around or sideways. If they are driving on the sidewalk, which they are not supposed to do as adults, they can at least go slowly. Yonge and Eglinton, already a mess from Crosstown construction, has fast ebikes and escooters speeding around with impunity. The Police or Auxiliary Police need to ticket them. I never see sight-impaired people walking around any more in my area for good reason as it is dangerous for sighted people. Perhaps the next Mayor will care - if someone asks at the debates I guess.
Womp Womp... Cry about it
Bro has never been in Naples lol
I’m from Toronto. I can’t stand these guys. They use what’s convenient.
I've biked along side Toronto drivers, the sidewalk is safer than the street, especially during the rain, it's like drivers brains turn off when the air gets wet.
It feels unsafe to ride with the cars people keep doing dangerous moves around us they open their doors without looking. People are aggressive to cyclists because they re slow
Tbh I'd rather have them ride on the sidewalk than get crushed by a car
Not a big deal if they're going slow and there are no people around.
Illegal either way...
@@BenNuProductions I come from NYC, we don't care about minor stuff like that. Even cops wouldn't care about it. If the guy is plowing through people at 30 MPH, then yeah, but not at a snails pace when there sometimes aren't even any other people on the sidewalk.
I would understand sidewalk riding if the setting was in a rural, suburban, or high speed road environment, which is justified as it is dangerous to ride in. All of the clips in this video are in dense urban areas, with generally slower moving traffic, and more pedestrians. This is bad for both parties. I really dislike it when it is mostly people on e-bikes doing this sidewalk riding, as it doesn't make sense to me. If you have an e-bike, shouldn't you be fine riding in city traffic? You should have no problem keeping up with traffic, why stay in the slow lane?
Of all the things to do with your time...
The road are dangerous for bikers. As a pedestrian never gotten hitten by a cyclist except this pretty (gorgeous) lady that made a turn on a cornor on the sidewalk even though I already backed a ways as I heard bike chains coming from that direction, as cyclist made the turn she kept going into me at a slow moderate rate which I easily held the handles while walking back slowly to have her and bike come to a full complete stop as I held back to the edge of the side walk and back against the street cross light column. Made sure she was okay and we smiled afterwards as she may have forgetten to brake for some reason as she kept looking at me and me wonder why is she riding towards me while looking and smiling at me like she was playfully surprised, and not braking. As a cyclist came mm a way from a bus passing me at full speed lucky I didn't move cycle and just stopped on the side walk edge as I was concern of the narrow road. As a pedestrian I got hitten by a car that was not paying attention on a green light wasn't even slowing down or stopping just drove into me. I litterally was stuck on the front of the van when it came to a stop I flew a good 50~ ft away just kept going. Ended up in hospital that day.
Actually not that bad if they match pedestrian speeds, up to maybe light jog speeds.
they aint hurtin nobody
^ found a sidewalk cyclist
@@JohnnyStrides yikes. L comment. Karen haha
@@seapea500 🙄
That last lady looked like she was taking it from the bike share station.
Privileged I see
( bikes and scooters are on the road ) angry people. people going slow on the side walk , people angry. no matter what people angry , but at least going slow on a side walk is safer
Hate the guys on the road more tbh
You can always tell who isn’t confident on a bike based on if they ride on the sidewalk or not
You are the only good UA-camr with good Shorts
Maybe there'd a reason for that? Cause all the drivers just made the roads unsafe.
Safety should be priority and I do not blame them for riding on the sidewalk
Riding on the sidewalk in Toronto makes you an asshole... end of story.
@@JohnnyStridesalso criminal because it is illegal because you can hit a pedestrian
Better then the road 😂
i dont mind people driving on the sidewalk as long as they do it safely, because i personally hate driving on the street next to big cars and trucks etc. i stand no chance and would immediately die against a car or motorbike in a colission.
At be leave Toronto and go see the world. That is a excellent approach for you.
Wow 😮
I don’t really blame them. literally a car parked in the bike lane in each clip. fix the infrastructure so people don’t feel the need to make the choice between risking their life on the street or pissing off pedestrians, cuz that’s an easy choice to make. And the only ones who aren’t affected are the ones who are the least vulnerable…. drivers
You don't blame them for being assholes? 🙄
😂
Yes sir thank you for sharing this video is good
Newbies to Canada and tourists 🙄
Nope. Locals. Unless you think people travel with e-bikes to big cities. A campground with an RV and an ebike? Yes. Downtown, no.
the hire bike. YES.
It's a minor inconvenience on the sidewalk, a bike on the road could be fatal. Weigh those odds, I'd rather get yelled at by grandma then die. lol
Use the god damn bike lanes meant for you people. That's why they're there for
@@gipsydanger5020 no
@@FocusBeDrifting You're going to get more than an earful from just "grandmas" like you think it is
So is riding on the sidewalk. What if you hit an old person or a child?
ahhh bicyclists. hated by cars and now hated by pedestrians.
Let's not lump downtown sidewalk "cyclists" in with the same group that actually ride where they're supposed to.
I ride my bike on the sidewalk. I also don't stop for stop signs, don't wear a helmet, don't use my bell even though I have one and I ride on the wrong side of the bike lane sometimes. I guess I'm just a terrible person and everyone hates me.
Not everyone. Just most people.
If you do that in Toronto... you're an as*hole. Congrats
If you are 16 months old, then it's understandable. Otherwise, not acceptable.
Main problem is lack of bike lane and some bike lane are often blocked by car parking so rider sometime has no choice than use it
Then they should get off and walk their bike... not make it everyone else's problem.
the road scares me
I knew exactly where this is
Safer than riding the subway
yes they are everywhere riding on the sidewalks unfortunately. I usually tell them where the road is😂 or tell them to read the Highway Traffic Act😂 Another classic is riding through red lights when there is little traffic.
You always seem to get them all in front of you 😮
I wish it was just me... but everyone who walks in the city has to deal with this garbage unfortunately. :(
@@JohnnyStrides I'm thinking of creating, producing and marketing some mini spike-strips to begin solving this ongoing problem. And this is coming from a cyclist.
Come to Hamburg, Germany! The same fun here
You know why their do that Johny alot of The car driver are bad driver their hit the bike driver all the time that why biker are scare to drive on the road I don't blame them not everyone is a excelent driver like you Johny !! 😂😂❤❤
they are going slow tbh, the first one was the fastest and even then not really that fast and not busy,
Toronto: A place where people are born before they move to Vancouver.😂
As a driver on the road i say good. Keep bikes off the road
"Excellence in Action"
go cry about it
Excellent video.🤣
Cool
The street is big enough to accommodate 1 or 2 bikes yeah it’s not convenient, no need to get your panties wet over it 🤷🏽
I totally get ur point ,however i cant blame them under the current circumstances in downtown where there are lot of aggressive drivers who doesnt consider a cycle lane exists atleast have a common sense that they should always looks for pedestrians and cyclists when taking a right signal, moreover riding on side walk is a mind game , some people like to take chance in mind game rather than get hit by a aggressive driver, at the end of the day its not amsterdam cant blame them
Viva ❤Toronto....Viva❤Jhon stret...
greetings friend from Mexico 👍👍😊🙋🏼♀️🇲🇽
I love it ❤ beautiful city
This is my neighborhood. It's such a fking clown show. One dumbass food delivery guy almost ran over my dog I got so mad.
Now THAT would have me irate - and probably knocking someone off of the bike.
Great. I assume you will never order food again!
It makes it very dangerous for pedestrians who might want to step one inch to the left or right or turn around perhaps. Seniors, children and others can get badly injured or killed but I have never seen the Police ticket any of the cyclists. Maybe you should say you are kidding (hopefully you are kidding). Electric cars are 4 times heavier than regular cars so I presume these bikes are heavy too and the people on them definitely are not lightweight. People should walk rather than endanger pedestrians or go some other route or transit. Thank you for showing this. I doubt that New York would allow this. Perhaps the next Mayor will care
Bikes on the sidewalk are a hazard for sure.
Why are they doing that's? Are they allowed to ?
Because they're selfish and entitled.
Nobody cares bud
Nice video
This is a non issue in the burbs. The side walk is massive. Safer than the road and nobody walks in the burbs if being honest
if people could drive in toronto then i wouldnt ever have to but i rather stay alive then care about how you feel haha
you ever been hit by a car?

I’ll excellence my self on a bike on the sidewalk any day
This has the making of one terrible video
Those are indians, they ain't toronto citizens.
Lul are you awake? i cant tell from the way your eyelids are almost closed.

They should straight up stop building bike lanes on streets and just put them on the sidewalk side, period
Bike lanes should be separated from vehicles and pedestrians, I can agree on that.
They kinda have it like that in some areas; that could be a really good idea
@@JohnnyStrides precisely!
But then drivers would have to pull up onto the sidewalks to park illegally... Let's not inconvenience the poor motorists any more than we already have.
Im riding my ebike on the streets not on the sidewalk...
Unfortunately in Toronto cyclists and pedestrians both use each designated space for for each to use, because our society thinks self before others and it's deteriorating day by day, so let's not be surprised by the selfishness displayed in the video!
Lmao omg tell em bro lol
Don’t you have anything better to do?
