Howie, she was 12 when she performed "I Don't Know My Name" on AGT, not 13.
Well auditions are months before the live shows. Maybe she was 13 for the rest of the time and that was on his mind? Kinda nit picking a bit armt you?
@@DemonKingNemo She sang it at her first audition in the fall of 2015 in New York at 11 years old. She was sent a notice to appear on the show weeks later so in March of 2016 at 12 years old she performed the audition you saw that was aired on June 7th. Grace turned 13 in January of 2017

A truly sublime songwriter her melodies and bridges are iconic in structure and set her in a class of elites three times her age. simple but multilayered in meaning. Really quite profound. If this child had true radio coverage Nationally any number of her songs could have reached top ten status and even some number ones. She truly is a generational talent and will be defined by her lyrical genius in the years to come. Oh yes an outstanding singer as well LOL
Well the radio to me is a relic. Today's music is internet. I have all Grace's Music. I go where ever Grace is performing. Live Grace is simply amazing, talk about a connection to her audience, no one like her. As long as I can hear and see her on any thing but the radio, I'm happy. Radio is cookie cutter music.

I seen Grace live in Columbia, S.C,when she was Opening for imagine dragons!!,i was at the stage,and she was singing I believe river!,it was soo touching every time she paused was magical,an absolute feeler of the music shel take you somewhere else!!!.
She is an Amazing song writer!!,i believe Beautiful thing, Clay and moonlight and a better life should all be number ones!!!,people shouldn't be judged for there age,but there work!!!.

Now, that reporter/questioner has me wondering. What little piece are they putting together on Grace? Is it a segment to appear on AGT this season, or something bigger?
I think NBC and AGT should produce a "Grac;e Vanderwaal Live Concert", and I'm pretty sure that it would pull in a humongous viewer audience, and major ratings. She can do it all in that show, including singing, performing, and just plain being goofy, and a major sponsor could be Maxi Sloosh.

Howey got it right!!! Simon although was also blown away in my opinion should not have said Grace would be the next Taylor Swift! Grace is uniquely her own amazingly talented artist and in my opinion blues Taylor Swift out of the water! No disrespect to Taylor or her fans and that's just my opinion but Grace has something so very special that Taylor just doesn't have! She's gone from an adorable talented 12 year old who had such an amazing raw unique style and voice but not just that she has such a beautiful aura! She's truly blossomed over the years since being on AGT and has gotten even better! Have yet to come across anything she's preformed that I didn't like! I even just watched her cover song she did on UA-cam of X's & O"s! It was clear even then she was gonna make it big!

No in my opinion, Grace is more herself right now. I think she felt like she was trying to get controlled by other people. But now I defi think she's happier, healthier and more herself. I love the way she is today and I will support her as long as she does what's good for her. It's not like I didn't like the "old" Grace, I truly do. I just don't miss it, I only miss her beautiful raspy voice. She has improved a lot in singing but I loved that rasp in her voice. I don't miss the "old" Grace, I think she is still "old" Grace but is also showing more of her that she didn't want to show to us, the public, because she was probably worried that she was too "weird". But Grace is still the goofy, funny, smart, matured, old-souled young woman. I would even say she's a prodigy.
