- Angry Birds 2 was released almost 10 years ago as a sequel to the original Angry Bird mobile game from 2009. But that statement is far from the truth, over the past few years Rovio has completely ruined the player's experience with every terrible update. All for the sole purpose of making as much money out of the game, and the franchise as a whole as possible.
This video will explain my thoughts on why I believe Angry Birds 2 failed to deliver as a proper sequel...

One thing you gotta give the older games credit for was that there were no limitations for how long you could play. There weren't lives or whatever they have now. You could play all day until you got bored, not throw away your rent money.

Unnecessary Hat sets, Tower Of "Torture", new "unimproved" Arena, Duck Spell reskins, Treasure Passes, Unable to upgrade Slingshot, Black Pearls being useless, removed daily quests, undeveloped story.....
Yep, I can see the present day scenario of Angry Birds 2. It's not "Made for kids" anymore. It's always money money money.

Every time I play Angry Birds 2, I'm bombarded with 'offers' and 'deals', whether it be loading up the game or completing a level. I remember having so many 'offers' at one point, they didn't even fit on the screen properly when I opened their tab. And I hate how they don't bother bringing back the exotic hats once the event has finished. Not everyone has the time to play all of their events!
Angry Birds 2 is when l realized...
Angry birds will be on a downfall sooner or later.

I think angry birds 2 has fun gameplay, but it’s starting to get worse. Rovio is making all the new hat sets available for a limited time, which may cause fomo, and at the same time making them really difficult to obtain. I was really mad when they removed the daily quests because everyday because of them, I could save up for a tower of fortune ticket. Lives also are frustrating, as the game gets harder and harder the further you play, making you need to use spells. Melodys design is terrible, but I’m happy we got a new bird. Also something I would wish is if they would add some cutscenes to adventure like the first game.

That’s why I don’t want to play Angry Birds 2 because of THAT RECENT FUCKING UPDATE and Modern condition of Rovio’s. I used to play the classic Angry Birds since I’m 2 and NOW, Rovio ruined the Angry Birds legacy by deleting the Classic, Rio, Star Wars, Star Wars II, Seasons and EVEN Space! Furthermore, Rovio makes Angry Birds 2 to become a PAY-TO-WIN app and WORSE, THE TREASURE PASS AND THE TOWER OF MISFORTUNE!!!! WHAT A DISHONEST ACT OF ROVIO DID!!!!!
It's truly devastating seeing what the franchise has become...

It’s Suck To Heard That The Game Used To Be Best Since I First Played It In 2015 & Laters Rovio Have To Add Some Terrible Updates Such As Tower Of Fortune AKA Tower Of Hell, Hatchlings, Hat Set Event, & Worst Of All Rainbow Season Update When I Play Rainbow Season Update For First Time & Saw Someone Post About Terrible Updates I Just Got Very Angry At Rovio For Removing Daily Quests Like Come On Losing Daily Quests Sucks Super Massive Time Because It’s Let’s You Gets More Gem & Feathers For Your Bird & Also Rovio Is Still Refuse To Bring Back Ice Bird, Stella’s Flocks & Tony To Game But Bring Back Stella, Hal, & Bubbles To Game & Having Melody A New Flock Is Good Idea

Cash Grab games is basically Gambling, because If you failed to pop all the pigs but you use your gems to buy more birds and you failed again, you got no refunds

-All classic game are still available and still get update regularly
-Less casual candy crush game
-More community interaction
-Angry birds movie 2 never exists
-More money for rovio because of older game
-More ACTUAL angry birds game
-Angry birds toon again (look I loved the series I want it back)
-more movie design bird (I think rovio love the movie design more than classic)
-Rovio 2 actually be finished
-Angry birds 2 actually have a story with a campaign mode
-Still going strong after 5 years

There's so much wrong with this game: the game can be ridiculously hard sometimes, the Tower Of Fortune (or as I like to call it "The Tower Of HELL"), the stupid life system, microtransactions... lots, and lots of microtransactions, those stupid Gardenscapes like ads, the worlds are ALL the same... I could keep going but I don't think I have the energy to rant on this game for like 3 hours. Just install the old games with an apk installer at this point...

They should have kept the time travel plot. That concept at least had a story, but nope, we got infinite levels instead, and on top of the New Birds/Pigs having wasted potential, the Tower of Torture, Bad Arena, being Pay to Win, yeah this game is a Piece of Work to say the least.

Unfortunately, Angry Birds 2 switched from a life system to an ENERGY system. Just like Bad Piggies 2.

Here is my verdict on the video first. 10/10 it explains everything that's wrong with this game perfectly.
I myself dropped the game in 2019 then returned in late 2022 and dropped it again and never picked it up again and I am glad that I didn't. You explain everything that's wrong with it even it conceptualation is very twisted it was meant to be a complete sequel like the others but it turned out to be a game lacking content at it's launch (This is very true imo even if it was promise at launch) and it got worse over time.
Imo there are several factors that influenced this the most influential being that mobile gaming was going through a big shift at the time to a f2p model woth candy crush and clash of clans. I think AB2 was caught in the middle of this shift in it's development this resulted in a lack laster game at launch imo but even then I didn't expect stuff to get much worse as I expected them to add on to this like GAMEPLAY not stupid duck reskins or hats. I can swear I saw video in Rovio's own channel that said they had ONE YES ONE LEVEL DESIGNER welp that explains the repetitive nature of the game. They added nothing on to this game besides cosmetics and even the gameplay they added made stuff worse not to mention the battle pass. I said this once in Discord I will say it again mobile game battle passes are lacking in content and aren't worth the price AT ALL. I swear Dankergold posted a clip of him deleting AB2 after we told him if the battle pass.

That's why I never liked it as much as the 1st one...
My relationship with AB2 is interesting to say the least. I only played it for a couple of days in late 2020, and quit it, but not for the reason you would expect. It wasn't because of the in-app purchases, but rather because of the vibe of the gameplay. In the old AB games when you knock down the pigs they just pop and make a noise and nothing else, not to mention there wasn't any music in it, making it a relaxing experience. With this game though knocking the pigs down causes them to make this squeal of agony making it 'triggering' for to play for me, if that makes sense. That's why I stopped playing after a couple of days of it.
But yeah all those updates seem dumb, especially the Fortnite Battle Pass and the removal of gems without paying.

this game shouldve kept the under pigstruction name or shouldve simply been named something else. Besides the life system still being there, the game was much more enjoyable back in the under pigstruction beta because you didnt automatically get 3 stars, so you actually had to try cus there was no leveling.
also I wish ABBA came out, im pretty sure there’s still content from ABBA or straight up unused AB2 content in AB2’s files.

Angry Birds 2 was a good game during his first years tbh, of course I'll need some improvements but It offered a good experience...

At leat we got the Mighty Eagle Camp and the inclusion of Melody...
if ab2 is friendly with reward ads only (and cosmetics that cost real money so they dont give you ingame advantage) then we might have a chance for the game to still be good since some game that use reward ads are better then people who pay lots of money because who even pays for a mobile game to gain advantage?
