I've honestly never seen Pony Life and have only seen very few episodes of friendship is magic. Everything I know about the show is mostly through the reviewers and analysts, and it makes me appreciate the show. I get to see why the show is loved to this degree, and see what strengths go into the show as well as what can be fixed. Also, reviewers and analysts always have funny and unique ways to approach each episode.

PL Discord may not have been the greatest version of Discord, but even so i for one think Peter New's performance of the character was done pretty good...i mean sure Peter wasn't the best Discord, but at least he tried.

I gave pony life a fair shake, I watched about maybe ten episodes before I decided it wasn't really my cup of tea. I hope the target audience likes it, but I would rather move on to a new gen and new ponies than cling to infantalized versions of the ones I liked.

but it just doesn't feel like Discord anymore, he was downgraded to Pinkie level in PL.
knowing his history as a villain, seeing him as a good guy later has this touch to it that you know something's wrong but you've seen clear proof that he's a good guy.

Overall, the new discord is ok but will never be as good as De Lancie's performance, and will never have as good writing.

Personally, I gave up on My Little Pony: Pony Life. I have watched the ten first episodes before I dropped it. My Little Pony Friendship is Magic is one of the best animated series I have ever seen in my life, I love it so much! It’s clever, funny, cute, hilarious, but also very touching and entertaining. But for Pony Life, I don’t like it because I think it’s too hysterical, boring and annoying. The last episode I have seen was the one with the first appearance of Discord. But our favorite god of chaos isn’t the same anymore without the voice of the wonderful John De Lancie. And you’re right I love Kim Possible a lot, he hasn’t the same personality than in the original show.
Perhaps Hasbro & Co. just needed a new toy line to sell?

Sooo by my brief research the "Pony Life" saga seems to be one of character infantilization for a much younger (and less sophisticated) audience. That's how it seems, anyway. This route is a time honored one as seen in:

I didn’t grow up with the old space jam because I wasn’t born in the 1990s, and the only thing I remember about it is falling asleep on it when I was younger. But anyways it’s stupid and it’s silly just like the second one, but I think the new one is more entertaining and funnier then the first. The first just has a better sound track. All that aside I enjoyed the video.

Pony Life is to MLP:FiM as Teen Titans Go is to Teen Titans. One being lazy and poorly written, the other being well written and had a lot of work put into it.
The suicide squad reference reminded me of when my mom and I watched the second one.
Mom: *bird killed with ball* 😱 "What's with the weasel? Wait, where are the other team members?"
Me: " These ARE the members"
Mom: " No, I mean the ones from the first movie?"
Me: " They're not in this one, they're putting in lesser known villains. They showed it in the trailer, didn't you watch it?"

But… they are characters from the first movie in this sequel! What about Rick Flag, Harley Quinn and Captain Boomerang? They are the survivors from the precedent movie! And it’s the same actresses and actors! And Viola Davis is still playing the role of Amanda Waller!
@@xyalpzttt Yeah, but Boomerang kicked the bucket at the very beginning and Flag ended up dying towards the end, and most of the movie was focused on the lesser villains and a random star alien, so she was VERY disappointed. There were a few scenes she laughed at, but most of the time I was laughing at her reactions to the more gorey scenes. She made a lot of shocked and horrified faces. I'm pretty sure she laughed at the Weasel, but that was during the beginning and end credit scenes.

Even though I am one the very few spectators who enjoys the first Suicide Squad (yeah, it has a lot of flaws, but I thought the movie was funny) I'd rather the second movie, it has a better story, it's more faithful to the spirit of the original comics of John Ostrander, and there is a lot of humor and action. But yeah, this sequel is extremely violent, gore and trash and they are very few characters from the original movie. Your mother probably hoped that she could see Deadshot, Katana and Killer Croc who are also the survivors of the first movie?

One thing I would like to point out. Pony Life does not need Discord.
Discord is a being of chaos yes? But the world is just as chaotic as he is...unless... Discord made this world. To be a chaotic reflection of the real world!

The pony life is like a fusion of cartoon blubberHeads and MLP.
I thought Pony Life was to MLP:FiM as Teen Titans GO! is to Teen Titans. Just using the same basic characters but making them "wacky" with no linear plot. Thus they can keep the trade makes and copyrights for the universe but put in 1/10th the effort. Also, the thought of "It is kids so it can be garbage just as long as it is short so they won't notice or get bored" mentality. So it boils down to if we have to suffer Teen Titans GO!, then I guess you all have to suffer Pony Life, as they are more or less born of the same cloth.
Also, I thought the New Netflix movie took place in the 80's My Little Pony universe, which is a different universe from MLP:FiM. This is why you see MLP:FiM toys on the little girl's shelf in the trailer. Like MLP:FiM was a TV show or something in that universe? That makes much more sense than to put it after MLP:FiM since aren't alicorns basically immortal? Which means once Twilight became an alicorn she would basically live forever? Or am I missing something?
Lastly, Pony Life doesn't have the Weird Al character in it yet that I know of, so how good could it really be?
honestly pony life discord is just fun to me, I don't take any characterization there seriously. Its not really a show to look at for that imo.
I watched the first 3 eps of PL. The writing is so shallow.
And the backgrounds look like they were drawn by a child.

I just had a creepy/scary thought about G5's Pegasus Ponies, since (not so spoilery spoiler) magic in Equestria "Just poof, disappeared!" In G5, what happened to the Pegasus that was up in the air, flying about when this happened since Pegasus need magic to really fly..? ...Oh, oh-no..! (Also, incidentally, imagine if randomly original FIM Discord suddenly popped up in G5 somehow, simply due to his popularity in G4..? actually I just thought up an idea for a possible storyline for this sort of a bit of a three-way crossover with G5, Pony Life, with its version of Discord briefly appearing & FIM with the original Discord... but it's a bit of a sad mystery tale)

The only thing they did good, was making it more clear about fluttercord being canon. Hearts around fluttershy when discord saved her in discord's peak, and hearts around fluttershy in the crafted tapestry thing at 2:35
But the new voice and designs just don't fit..
Really hoping if they have these characters return in the next show... They manage to retain the old voices and expand on the stories.

And it’s revealed at the end that he sent the mane six on a fake, but dangerous mission so he could interfere with the school, including Fluttershy the only person he likes.
