The departure of him, Benzies and Lazlow really makes me worry about the state of Rockstar's storytelling.
I mean the dialogue in GTA V could have been written by a high schooler, it was not clever in any way. There are tens of thousands of other writers out there that can probably still write a very good script for a rockstar game.
@@MrBobbyz24 The dialogue in V was reflective of the direction it took, and it still had great lines in it. Also, perhaps a few years ago I'd believe you, but with how Rockstar was planning to "clean up it's act", I don't trust these new writers to produce anything but sanitised garbage.
@@TheCynicalAutist Based on the trailer and leaks, it looks like typical rockstar. Story focuses on bonnie and clyde type couple and probably other plot stuff. idk if the story will be amazing or bad but so far im interested in how the story unfolds. Cant say writers for gta 6 are bad now when we havent seen the writing.

Well, Sam Houser is still with Rockstar and Dan left only in 2019-2020. Given that GTA 6 is under development for like ten years, he clearly left something of his legacy for us to experience in a future game. However, what will we have in GTA 7 is a real question, but let's be honest, it's the game our kids will play. And it's good if kids, not grandchildren. So, it's alright for us, practically sure that GTA 6 will still be a parody of America that mocks liberals, conservatives, feminists, misogynists and everyone else.

Unlikely. Micheal has had his run. All he wants to do now is make movies and chill with his family. Franklin on the other hand is still young so I'd say he'd be most likely, tho his success shown in GTA Online makes this less likely. The character from GTA 5 I'd like to see cameo the most in 6 is Lamar lol.

It's not only Dan Houser leaving but also quite a few other Rockstar veterans leaving which says something about the direction of the upcoming projects.
Now that Dan Houser Michael Unsworth Lezlie Benzies and Lazlo and most of the Old team have left Rockstar Games this really makes me worry about the storytelling and future of Rockstar Games
Gta6 should be fine as it was almost certainly written by Houser, even if he left in 2020.
Let us pray for RDR3 which would arguably be even worse to get ruined.

Dan Houser left the company recently, the game has been in the works for 10 years, this means that Dan has already written much of the GTA VI material.

Pre-production began in 2014, which also includes writing
There were some reports that the game had a rocky development and changed direction a bunch after the mass exodus. He very likely had a big impact on the initial story but I wouldn't be surprised if they changed it a ton from the original plan

Houser and lazlow left the company in 2020.
I think that their are involved in the game development since the game is under work at least from 2015.
You can tell this by the development of other games from rockstar, like gta 5 (early develpment start in 2008) and rdr2 (2011).
So my guess is that gta6 development start at least in 2015, as i said.
@@marconale9328 The rumor is that after they kicked out Dan they restricted the whole game and threw out the whole drug lord across the americas idea and downgraded it to Jason and his girlfriend.

Working on a massive project like this it can’t make them just throw stuff and materials who required years and years of development in terms of resource and money.
So my guess is that houser and lazlow are involved at least in the storyline.
But who knows of course i might be wrong.

@@JDFlyy Dan Houser was the main writer at Rockstar Games, if he still wanted to write for them he wouldn't have left the company. The role he had is a full time job and there is just no a way for him to really "help" except maybe some consulting job but I'm pretty sure he left for good and started his own company. He was responsible for most of the writing in their games, it's not like he can really help through a call from Sam, lmao.

These speaks volumes without saying anything. You can bet the $ brother wasn’t spending time on set even if not directly interacting. Dan was ‘invested’ in a holistic way that will likely be missed. Although ims pretty sure his new company has likely been brought on to consult regardless.
Dan Houser and Lazlow Jones have BOTH left Rockstar, lol, they're dead in the water. They're talking about a trailer for the new one, but trust me, that game is gonna be half-baked.

Lol I doubt it. It's crazy how people act like these two people made the GTA games all by themselves or act like there aren't other people who can come up with similar or better ideas for the game. Discrediting hundreds of other peoples work ain't it. GTA 5 was a huge game and it's literally impossible for 1 or 2 people to come up with all of the miniscule details that we see. It was a team effort and there are other talented people in the industry. That being said sure maybe it won't be as good as the previous games narrative wise but technically it'll be way better just by looking at how RDR2 turned out and it's 100% not going to flop. If they fuck up like CDPR they might have issues at the start but I doubt they'd go down the same path.

Dan build the stories and Lazlow the sound of the GTA series. About the biggest shoes in the industry to fill for someone else. I don't have high hopes but I would like to be proven wrong.
Is it just me or are you guys thinking GTA 6’s story sucks, characters suck, music is meh, and regardless of the improved physics and graphics, it just won’t be the same overall package as GTA4!?

I hope you’re wrong. The radio and foolishness is what I love most about the series. The main story is fine, but the crazy side missions and humour is the best.
its honestly crazy that most of the entire GTA franchise is credited to up to 4 writers per title and dan houser is always one of them. and lazlow for the radio/tv/cinema.
such an enormous contribution to create these stories and bring universes to life that hundreds of millions explored.
they still have humphries that has been credited as writer since IV and im sure they arent in general dumb enough to make it that bad, so im still not that worried. its just extremely impressive what these dudes created.

All the good people of Rockstar have left, I think Rockstar is going to go under because of it. I don't see Rockstar making any good games anymore, just like the previous remasters and definitive (defective) editions of their older games and I'll bet GTA 6 will flop big time
Dude the last game that they made was rdr2 and that was in 2018. Trilogy remaster was not made by rockstar, it was only published by them

GTA 4 Was the last good game in the GTA series...GTA 5 was good too...Rdr2 was masterpiece...GTA 6 will may be good too as its been a long since its development and probably Dan wrote its script...The real deal here is of future games after gta 6 like RDR3...

I think GTA 1, 2, San Andreas, Vice City, Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, and China Town Wars were all good. GTA 3, GTA IV, and GTA V were not as good as they could have been. And the remasters Definitive Edition were trash. Only reason GTA 5 was so big and popular were mods, the DLC for Online, FiveM community, and the streamers that kept GTA 5 going.
But if you play GTA 5 Story Mode, just the base game, without mods, the game is kinda lame. Trevor, Franklin, and Michael are soft. The game doesn't have that hard gangster essence like GTA 2, Vice City, and San Andreas. Rockstar lost their touch more than 15 years ago. GTA 6 will be fixable with Online DLC or mods. But the GTA 6 base game, on release day, will suck 100%.

Without Dan Houser, GTA 6 is gonna be a shitshow.
He is not the only great Rockstar writer, there are 2 others who are still following (who were fundamental in GTA IV, GTA V, RDR1 and RDR2).
Also, the script for GTA 6 is almost certainly written by him.

Rupert Humpfries and Sam Houser are still with Rockstar, they both contributed with RDR2.
