I totally feel the same way mate , I stopped playing football games ever since efootball launched & when I became a dad as well 3 years ago so not had the time to play either It’s only been in the past couple of days I’ve had the urge to play PES 2021 season update because I miss master league & the FIFA gameplay doesn’t do it for me anymore It’s shocking the state of football games right now, might even borrow my brothers SNES to play super soccer & International superstar soccer at this rate 😂😂
I honestly got tired waiting for a Master League mode myself, that's why I created a mod for a co-op Master League. It's basically a web app that allows you to play matches in kick off mode and add your results. It's pinned on the SPFootballLife subreddit if you want to have a look it's called MyFootballLegacy.
Get the burnout completely man. No need to force it, being honest is good. Always rated your genuine United takes - even in your PES videos, you'd always weave in your proper fan opinions and passion about United, and that's always been a good watch for fellow fans. Plus you just have a natural way of chatting football generally, makes it easy to listen to and feel like you're just chatting with a mate down the pub. Maybe take a breather from the big PES/FIFA series for a bit and just do some stuff around real football instead? Loads of us watching are proper football fans anyway, so that side of things might be really cool to see you explore more directly. Like, instead of those longer series, maybe just do casual live streams reacting to United games, or quick video thoughts right after? I'd definitely tune in for your honest, fan perspective on those matches. Or even just chatting about United tactics, players, the whole club - just proper football chat, no game needed at all. And just for a bit of fun now and then, you could still throw in some retro PES 6 streams? Mess about with patches to see some legendary teams in action like Cantona's Utd or even George Best's if possible - just for a change of pace and some nostalgia, something lighter and less demanding. Just throwing some ideas your way. Whatever you wanna make, we'll still be watching. Your football opinions, games or no games, are always worth listening to. So hear me out: I used to be a PES fane since PES 3, having played FIFA since FIFA 98 prior. And it's still hard for me not to have a good football games these days. BUT: I love me some Deep Rock Galactic. It's a shooter, yes. And I don't like shooters. But it's made by devs who genuinely care. It is the literal antidote for the modern gambling-battlepass-predatory-BS-game-as-a-service-rip-off. It truly is. Might wanna check it out. Just my 2 cents

I find you funny and entertaining and I’d much rather watch a stream of you for a couple of hours once a week playing a really exciting, new game. I don’t even care if it’s not a football game. Play games YOU enjoy that YOU are passionate about. Stream some of the new, cool games coming out. Maybe even do a retro stream night and play some old games… again even non-football games Mods are cool but at the end of the day it’s the same game as it has been for 4 years. I feel you Ricky - it’s been a strange era. I do think somehow someway we will see an uptick again in the 2030s but we really had the golden era 1998-2020 and we didn’t even know it 😢

I played every PES with my brother since PES 2008, every year like waiting for Christmas for premiere of new PES. Then Efotball came and i have literally 10 min played on steam. This game killed my love for football games. Didnt play any fotball game since year 2021.
I had played since PES 3, been top 50 online in master league online. And I feel kinda the same. They have stripped 99% of the content and replaced it with predatory gambling
I swear it would be so smart (from a marketing standpoint) if konami would put out a game called PES OFFLINE and just pack it with masterleague and all the other old modes with modern graphics and proper gameplay. At a price around 39,99 it would sell a bunch i am certain of it….BUT IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN 😢

You know what I really feel sad watching this video. I was introduced into PES series relatively late in early 2017 as I was broke and had a garbage PC which couldn't run Fifa 17 but PES 17 was really easy to play there and I had seen many mods available for that game, then I discovered your channel and kind of for the past few years followed you for master league and mods stuffs. A big part of my college life was associated with football gaming and modding them to the absolute core so they look like real football matches and it was such a fun time. Now time's changed, I left my hometown to pursue higher education, stopped playing much because you know the same reasons as you stated and now that I lookback it is kind of sad state we are all in. I hope one day Konami will understand what PES meant for fans, what it conveyed for all of us. Loved your content Ricky and I am not blaing you since I have also given up on football games in general. It's just I hope maybe one day we can get back those joyful moments of PES back again, I really hope
For me the pinnacle was PES6. Almost 40 now, I only play offline once a week, very luckily still with my old man (we've been playing footie games since Kick Off on the Atari!), and I have to say we enjoy co-op FC25 offline. We always seem to have entertaining games and realistic scorelines against the computer, and the game ebbs and flows. It's by no means perfect, but it's an 8 or 9 out of 10 for me.
Same here, my love for football games has basically died after eFootball came out. I did give it a try but it got stale very quickly, I tried FIFA and that didn't do it for me either. I used to buy every PES game since PES2, it used to be a ritual that I enjoyed and still had me giddy up to PES 2021. But that has gone. I can't blame you at all for not wanting to continue.

I feel you man, i couldnt agree more. Its so sad the good old pes times are over. I guess we just have to accept that we are not the main audiance any longer and live on. But soccer games in general are at a terrible state. We would not have this conversation if at least eafc has good gameplay or efootball more content. What hurts so bad is that it all seems so obvious and it feels like nobody wants see reality as it is.

Yep same, remember thinking like a decade ago, wow how good will football games be in 10 years time! (how wrong was that!!) Still play PES2020 occassionally but only when I come up with my own scenario like sell all the players and use U21's or something. Otherwise it's just so crap.

We feel you, don't worry. I cant play Efootball, I can't play EA FC even with the mods its crap and and can't play modded PES, because it's been so many years of playing same master league with the same problems and lack of content
Totally hear you mate. Sad thing is I just like your videos and your knowledge and your knowledge of football. It's fun watching your videos. Football games are woeful. End of. That's why I'm on my retroid pocket 5 playing ps2 and psp football games and loving it! I watch another retro football channel but there's not much content out there, maybe give that a go. Focus on emulation, classic football games that emulate well and show videos of you enjoying that. Yes, modern football games suck, so leave the modern games and ultimate team behind and go retro. It's because those game developers don't care about offline gameplay. You can always look at the classics (sensible soccer and the like) and do career modes on them or go for the actual career modes in games that are build for them both in football and other sports games.
Even when you just talk it's entertaining! If you feel like making a video about something, we will watch! Just make sure it's something you actually enjoy, glad you're honest.

Damn, I miss Luigi. Maybe next time you can do master league series using regen. Which means you can only recruit ex player for that team only. As example, you play as Sir Alex Ferguson and you can recruit regen player like Nani, Ronaldo, Welbeck and Phiil Jones it self.
You don't necessarily have to play football games only. You can mix it up. Yeah you'll lose some followers but you'll gain new ones in the long run as well.
I picked up PES 2013 again and I enjoy it but I know after some time I will get bored of it as well... When it comes to you Ricky someone said you should try watch along commentary of United games and I think they're right, if you're interested of course. Totally feel you. Bought a PS2 and PES6 and played master league with a mate next to me on the sofa. It was 10x more fun than any of the online mobile oriented stuff we've had recently. If Konami had any sense they would relaunch a fully editable PES25 with old school gameplay and modern graphics.
I'm surprised you lasted as long as you did. I've been trying to get back into it, but just can't find anything I like about it. Can't even play a casual offline game these days, everything is so bent on online nonsense.
I have the exact same feeling. I've been a WE/PES fan in PS2 era, then started enjoying FIFA around 2012 to 2015 and went back to PES in 2017. PES 2020/21 was the pinnacle and I miss it so much. Tried EAFC 25 a couple of times, invested time and liked a couple of things in Career Mode but the gameplay is just unbearable for me. I can't find joy as I used to. For me, it's always about getting the most realistic approach and the games nowadays are just not there. Football games now are all about this live service stuff, the cosmetics, the exaggeration. It's really sad. I just wish we could go back to 2013 and have FIFA and PES back to its glory.
I love you to say this, 100% i agree to this, i wont play eFootball, UFL or Ultimate Team, i only care about manager mode , but that will not happen in eFootie and EA is making the same boring gamemode over and over again
You should find a server where we can play manual and have them uploaded in UA-cam , we can make some tournaments , we can all put 10$ each as a prize . Or we need to change the games , like go into driving games

I have been doing Master League with different leagues after 1-2 seasons. I even tried MLS. It is kinda fun. Especially Brazil league is very different from Europe leagues. I am now in 2038.

Feeling pretty simillar tbh I have played various Football life versions for 2-3 years? Gameplay is just stale. If i want to play some footy, i just boot up old PES (4-5) and that's fine.
Efootball is gonna have to do a reset at some point as soon there will be 110 rated players and only way to do that is just make them 99 rated in ever stat. So if they're gonna release Master League I believe they will do it around then to soften the blow of people losing their precious Epics.
If you're looking for an old classic football game that is actually fun to play I would recommend you check out the first ever Fifa Street. The career mode on there doesnt take long to finish and the hipster commentary keeps it entertaining 👍🏼
I don't play any football games now. Gave up after the 2nd week of ufl where they ruined it. Time to play other games now like small indie rougelikes. Give them their time to shine
I hear you Ricky. I do play online but even the EF online is just horrendous and the gameplay is not up to the standard PES was. I’m 42 and have no desire to learn how to go play FIFA or EFL either so I’m abit stuck.
I agree mate, I still love EAs football games now but if I’m totally honest I preferred the EA football games from Fifa 07 to 17 which was a golden period for EAs football games, I still look forward to EAs football games now but not as much as I used to. Whether we’ll see a great football game again that most people will enjoy? We’ll have to wait and see. 👍🏻
You should stream on both YT and on Twitch, and post full streams on YT. And if you want, you could edit streams and make 20-30 minute videos out of them.

It's not coming out bro, they have their off line mode in My League which no one plays. I've done 1 league run through on Legend and that's it. I'm now an online player spending money on cards and grinding the league which I've never done before. Always been a master league player doing over 40 seasons before with multiple regen players which was great fun. By the way I'm 45 this year and only play Efootball now. Good luck in whatever you decide to do 👍🏻

Speaking personally, and I've articulated this on various UA-cam channels, I haven't even bothered installing UFL, as it appears to myself nothing but an early and very amateurish PS2 soccer/football game. EA FC 25 isn't flawless, but following its recent update, it isn't a bad game to play with the leagues, licences, modes etc it's the best overall experience of the beautiful game. Efootball 2025 is the most realistic simulation since its recent update, offline and on the field. However, offline, there is ostensibly zero to do. I have no interest in Ultimate Team mode on FC 25 and Efootball, I'm an old-fashioned classic PES era chappie and PES 5 and 6 on the original PS2 remain the pinnacle of soccer games. Shall we ever see their likes again?

Fifa's been trash for about 5 years now. Efootball has nothing to offer offline. UFL is not for me and is fifa inspired. Have more than a 1000 hours on PES 21 master league, but with no proper option files coming out anymore and my lack of finances to switch to PC and try mods has also made me grow tired of PES 21 unfortunately. Football games are dead.
I went over to football manager years ago, when PES went to crap, and even that's been delayed etc. I think it's our age 30+ 😂😂 i can't seem to be gripped by games anymore
i agree FC25 is boring and too offensive..I replayed a master league in PES 2021 and it was ok but dated...I agree football is made for kids that just want to press and score goals with no stamina pentaly
The obvious solution then if you want to continue making content to to go retro with it. Your old PES6 videos for example, are the kind of thing I'm thinking of. Maybe you can make it like trying different patches, or going with older games than PES, back to PS1 or even 8 bit games. Just an idea to think about
I think it’s just age. Love for games not there any more? We are of similar age I think and I long for a great football game as well. Long gone are the days when you can play 20+ plus matches of career mode in a day, we ain’t 11/12 years old anymore 😅

I think Konami will eventually put out Master League but you'll have to pay for it, which I'm sure none of us are too fussed about. But they've got a great way of making extra income if they charge £15 or £20 for a Master League add-on.. Konami are not going to pass up the opportunity to make extra money are they? I would imagine Master League is a lot more simpler to make than all the online modes. My guess would be it DOES happen eventually.

I feel you man, i couldnt agree more. Its so sad the good old pes times are over. I guess we just have to accept that we are not the main audiance any longer and live on. But soccer games in general are at a terrible state. We would not have this conversation if at least eafc has good gameplay or efootball more content. What hurts so bad is that it all seems so obvious and it feels like nobody wants see reality as it is.

Still play PES2020 occassionally but only when I come up with my own scenario like sell all the players and use U21's or something. Otherwise it's just so crap.

We feel you, don't worry. I cant play Efootball, I can't play EA FC even with the mods its crap and and can't play modded PES, because it's been so many years of playing same master league with the same problems and lack of content

That's why I'm on my retroid pocket 5 playing ps2 and psp football games and loving it! I watch another retro football channel but there's not much content out there, maybe give that a go. Focus on emulation, classic football games that emulate well and show videos of you enjoying that. Yes, modern football games suck, so leave the modern games and ultimate team behind and go retro. It's because those game developers don't care about offline gameplay. You can always look at the classics (sensible soccer and the like) and do career modes on them or go for the actual career modes in games that are build for them both in football and other sports games.
Even when you just talk it's entertaining! If you feel like making a video about something, we will watch! Just make sure it's something you actually enjoy, glad you're honest.

Damn, I miss Luigi. Maybe next time you can do master league series using regen. Which means you can only recruit ex player for that team only. As example, you play as Sir Alex Ferguson and you can recruit regen player like Nani, Ronaldo, Welbeck and Phiil Jones it self.
You don't necessarily have to play football games only. You can mix it up. Yeah you'll lose some followers but you'll gain new ones in the long run as well.

Totally feel you. Bought a PS2 and PES6 and played master league with a mate next to me on the sofa. It was 10x more fun than any of the online mobile oriented stuff we've had recently. If Konami had any sense they would relaunch a fully editable PES25 with old school gameplay and modern graphics.

I'm surprised you lasted as long as you did. I've been trying to get back into it, but just can't find anything I like about it. Can't even play a casual offline game these days, everything is so bent on online nonsense.
I have the exact same feeling. I've been a WE/PES fan in PS2 era, then started enjoying FIFA around 2012 to 2015 and went back to PES in 2017.
PES 2020/21 was the pinnacle and I miss it so much. Tried EAFC 25 a couple of times, invested time and liked a couple of things in Career Mode but the gameplay is just unbearable for me. I can't find joy as I used to.
For me, it's always about getting the most realistic approach and the games nowadays are just not there. Football games now are all about this live service stuff, the cosmetics, the exaggeration.
It's really sad. I just wish we could go back to 2013 and have FIFA and PES back to its glory.

You should find a server where we can play manual and have them uploaded in UA-cam , we can make some tournaments , we can all put 10$ each as a prize . Or we need to change the games , like go into driving games

Maybe you can try different leagues instead of just premier league? I have been doing Master League with different leagues after 1-2 seasons. I even tried MLS. It is kinda fun. Especially Brazil league is very different from Europe leagues. I am now in 2038.

I have played various Football life versions for 2-3 years? Gameplay is just stale.
If i want to play some footy, i just boot up old PES (4-5) and that's fine.
Efootball is gonna have to do a reset at some point as soon there will be 110 rated players and only way to do that is just make them 99 rated in ever stat. So if they're gonna release Master League I believe they will do it around then to soften the blow of people losing their precious Epics.
But players who've spent thousands € on the game will be mad, konami is f* anyway🤣

I hear you Ricky. I do play online but even the EF online is just horrendous and the gameplay is not up to the standard PES was. I’m 42 and have no desire to learn how to go play FIFA or EFL either so I’m abit stuck.

I agree mate, I still love EAs football games now but if I’m totally honest I preferred the EA football games from Fifa 07 to 17 which was a golden period for EAs football games, I still look forward to EAs football games now but not as much as I used to. Whether we’ll see a great football game again that most people will enjoy? We’ll have to wait and see. 👍🏻

It's not coming out bro, they have their off line mode in My League which no one plays. I've done 1 league run through on Legend and that's it. I'm now an online player spending money on cards and grinding the league which I've never done before. Always been a master league player doing over 40 seasons before with multiple regen players which was great fun. By the way I'm 45 this year and only play Efootball now. Good luck in whatever you decide to do 👍🏻

Speaking personally, and I've articulated this on various UA-cam channels, I haven't even bothered installing UFL, as it appears to myself nothing but an early and very amateurish PS2 soccer/football game. EA FC 25 isn't flawless, but following its recent update, it isn't a bad game to play with the leagues, licences, modes etc it's the best overall experience of the beautiful game. Efootball 2025 is the most realistic simulation since its recent update, offline and on the field. However, offline, there is ostensibly zero to do. I have no interest in Ultimate Team mode on FC 25 and Efootball, I'm an old-fashioned classic PES era chappie and PES 5 and 6 on the original PS2 remain the pinnacle of soccer games. Shall we ever see their likes again?

Time to come to the dark side and enter the realm of Football Manager. I gave up with PES and FIFA a long time ago and never went back.
The obvious solution then if you want to continue making content to to go retro with it. Your old PES6 videos for example, are the kind of thing I'm thinking of. Maybe you can make it like trying different patches, or going with older games than PES, back to PS1 or even 8 bit games. Just an idea to think about

I think Konami will eventually put out Master League but you'll have to pay for it, which I'm sure none of us are too fussed about. But they've got a great way of making extra income if they charge £15 or £20 for a Master League add-on.. Konami are not going to pass up the opportunity to make extra money are they?
I would imagine Master League is a lot more simpler to make than all the online modes.
