I will have to see this movie. To me it just looks "woke" but, I hope not. I am old and in the 70's I learned that the "true" female samurai were the "tip of the spear/the head of the knife". That they were the experts in both short and long range fighting. The "tanto" short knife and the "nagi not ah" a long stick with a blade at the end. Just look at some of Keiko Fukuda and her Ju-No-Kata. I hope your movie is not just another Diznee movie. We have enough of these in the in the US at this time. give a girl a na gee nat ah and she will cut your head off.
You are talking about Naginata and the weapons of the wives of Samurais. This story is based on the real woman, Nakazawa Koto, who live at the end of the Samurai period and joined the Shogun's Samurai as a woman. So, it's not a historical documentary talking about the wives of the Samurai. It's a fiction based on a real Samurai woman. I read her brother's diary which also talks about her life in the end of the Samurai period. She was a great swordsman and we joined her sword-fighting style called Hoshinryu to represent her sword-fighting. We met at her descendant and show the real documentary.
Looking forward to seeing my son in this movie!

Your sound mixing levels are way off. Can’t hear the dialogue at all.
