Great idea to make this hidden gem series! Maybe you could make a video about the montjuic area?

Excellent video Patrick, the intro really popped. Barcelona's secrets always keep me wanting to come back and so too your videos. Thanks for the reminder about the 'Cathedral of the Sea' book. I'm halfway through The Angel's Game from the Cemetery of Forgotten Books series. So, I'll have to pick it up after I finish. All the best!

Thanks Steve! Sounds like you e got quite a bit left to read. After Angel’s game there’s two more books in the series!

I am amazed! I live in Bcn and did not know most of the areas you showed. Thanks!

Technically el Born/Borne is just a section of the "Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i La Ribera" neighborhood (specifically the "La Ribera" part of that equation, although La Ribera is also technically divided into La Ribera and El Born, but el Born still falls into the larger section of La Ribera...lol) within the district of Ciutat Vella (which also encompasses the Raval, Barceloneta and Gothic Quarter) - La Ribera/El Born is considered a sub-neighborhood - not to be pedantic or anything, I just find it interesting :)

Pastelería Hofmann really is a must-eat - but you should visit it multiple times because there is no way one can enjoy all the different fillings of the croissants at once!

Hahah, definitely can't try it all in one trip. What was your favorite?

I tried the one with the mascarpone-filling and will stick to that - though I'm more of a chocolate-guy, but that's what the churros con chocolate are for. But my father got the one with the chocolate-filling, so I had a sneak-peak :D

El Born is definitely a gem, but it’s hardly a “hidden” one 😂 It’s flooded with tourist swarms, many of them disembarking from the nearby docking cruise ships. You will find true good restaurants (Sagardi) and (still) some authentic bars, but there are also those that are pure tourist traps that just opened less than a year ago, despite all the hype they pretend to have. Another thing is the “Mercado de la Boquería” which isn’t in Born quarter but in Gothic quarter (across the Ramblas street) and that, sadly too, is not a true market anymore but a mere food show for tourists.

What's required to go to the rooftop at EDITION?

Hi! I’m traveling with my preteens. They are not the type to want to do museums and popular tourist sites. What kind of activities do you recommend? I’m thinking anything sport outside of a soccer game or even a show

Just watched on Netflix Cathedral of the sea series . Do you need to buy tickets in advance for month of May to visit the church and the roof ?
