Incredible. You'd think it was made for classical guitar. Wow.

Es el guitarrista que más me ha impresionado escuchar en vivo. Tocaba con una facilidad asombrosa las obras más complejas.

Thank you so much for putting this on UA-cam. It’s a good time to be a guitarist, if you have the internet, you know?
So lucky to have people like you put these amazing performers on here.

Wow! I never knew Mozart could work so well on the guitar (in the hands of an outstanding performer like Barrueco of course). What a stunning arr. and interpretation. :)

So many piano sonatas by Mozart and so few transcribed for guitar or two guitars. Fortunately the teacher of Su Meng has done his part of the work. What about the other guitarists?

Alas, the stultifying and toxic tendency to compare guitarists. As if we could do without Velazquez to appreciate Picasso.

Funny that nobody from the guitar community came back to this piece.
I would say it is technically spotless but musicwise it simply exposes the guitar player lack with the great composers. Honestly, you cannot expect to develop your skills with Sor and Giuliani and

... be well prepared for Mozart.
The only way is to listen to the best players. Have you ever heard Horowitz play an "easy" Mozart Sonata? There is such playfullness freedom in tempo without ever losing it. And in the end a huge smile on his face. That is spirit of Mozart. So maybe it is really too difficult to achieve all this on the guitar.

I'm a guitarist and I just found this. This is one of my absolute favorite mozart sonatas esp. Mvmt 1& 2. It's great hearing this on guitar. I would have thought it impossible, but in response to your claim of no good guitar composers. Have you heard of Barrios? Dionisio Aguado? I like a lot of theirs as much as any composers and much of it is tough to perform. Barrios was an incredible genius for sure.

    • @veetguitar
      @veetguitar 3 роки тому

      @@stringchild Barrios is great!
But Mozart is 18th century and Barrios 20th century. (Although his style is 19th)
Barrueco us a player that is about technical perfection. For me, there are a lot if players that I enjoy more.
But everyone can enjoy different things.

Very, very sorry Manuel Barrueco, but Mozart was never a Flamenco player. Unless the extreme virtuosity ... again ... sorry, but this is not ok and I don't like it at all.

    • @bpm9295

There's nothing remotely flamenco about this performance. It's okay to play Mozart without a piano just like it's okay to play Bach without a harpsichord. Relax.

Barrueco is not a flamenco guitarrist nor does he have a remote idea on how to play flamenco. He's a classical guitarist. For flamenco check out Paco de Lucía, Tomatito or Moraito.
