my rim brakes calipers are getting in the way causing it to move too close to the rim. as a temp fix I took off one of the arms that attach the rack to the upper eyelet. Im not sure what to do, I really want the added support but I also need my brakes. Any ideas? Thanks!
@@YourDriverSasan i had the same problem on one of my other road bikes so i use a seat post clamp with rack mounts. I have the one in the link below on two of my bikes. One of which i use for touring. www.idahomountaintouring.com/products/31-8mm-seatpost-clamp-with-rack-mounts. You can also find them on amazon. Just make sure its the correct size for your seat post. It should raise the rack stays up high enough to now interfere with your brakes. I hope this helps.
For some reason the left side of the bottom bracket doesn't match up. The right side does only. It's a planetbike eco rack 4001. Bike is northrock 27.5in hardtail mountain bike with disc brakes
I assume you are refering to the rack mounts on the seat stay. You can get a seat post clamp with rack mounts on amazon. Just make sure the seat post clamp matches your seat tube diamiter.
That is a really great question. It really depends on the type of basket you want to use and how you want or need to attach it to your rack. Christina used a collapsible basket attached to the rack with small pipe clamps in place of a Pannier while commuting in grad school. This rack is well suited for that. There are also baskets made specifically to attach to your rack. I have included a link to a video I found walking through the process. I hope this answers your question. m.ua-cam.com/video/iSfREpPtDu4/v-deo.html
Thanks for posting this. Seeing how you temp installed the rack to get the correct fit will help me a bunch!
I'm so glad to hear this helped!!
