A Joshua Zirkzee masterclass! Much needed for the scoreboard watchers and non-believers. Top 3 technically gifted players in the squad and makes it able for us top keep possesion and creates multiple big chances a game. He will get in his bag regarding goals as well sooner or later..
I’ll call it the historic 4-4-2. Although 4-2-4 might appear more modern, it’s really just a variation of the classic 4-4-2 that Manchester United is renowned for. The club's identity is firmly rooted in the 4-4-2 formation.
Zirkzee is an absolute gem in freeing the wingers and keeping the ball rolling. Reminds me when Firmino came to Liverpool and was the underrated man to free Mane&Salah. Can't wait for Shaw to comeback. Dalot doing an ok job at LB. But we all remember what an overalpping Shaw can do to free the space for Rashford 🔥🔥🔥
There could even be a striker in Garnacho in years to come. He’s got the eye for goal, pace to burn and makes much better decisions now compared to when he first broke into the team
I agree that his decision making has improved but it's still not there yet. Garnacho doesn't really have the build to be a striker and his potential as a winner cutting in and firing is where he'll be the most successful.
I'm no tactico, but I'd love to see Hojlund at 9, Zirkzee behind him as a f9/10, and Bruno as the 8. We'll certainly see Hojlund and Zirkzee playing together this season; pretty sure ETH said so, too.
i believe also with hojlund, onana used to boot the ball up to him in which he would bring it down and pass it to bruno who would pass it to an inverting winger, I would like for both of these players to thrive
Weghorst wasn't given enough credit for Rashfords smash of goals. His off-ball work stretched defenders creating more space. Zirkzee seems to have that in his game, that ability to drag defenders away from the ball is what made Giroud so good for France still a couple of seasons from winning titles. but this definitely a step in the right direction
I thought one of the biggest reasons we got Zirkzee was to replicate the kind of role Rashford had when playing with Weghorst. I was so confused the first few games with Rashford holding the width, but Southampton was very encouraging, and Barnsley was VERY interesting.
weghorst was never given enough credit for his part in rashfords run. played similar to giroud of france which allowed mbappe and griezmann to play more freely
@matthewbaker2573 100%! Even this summer after signing Zirkzee, I would have happily signed Weghorst back as the backup, 3rd choice striker! He loves the club, gives it his all, and despite not scoring much is VERY useful on the pitch.
Alright Dave, do you not think Garna and Rashford work well together? It's surprising considering they play the same position but its been working well. Defenders don't know who to mark.
They wouldn’t because it unbalances the center of the pitch massively. Bruno doesn’t (or can’t) drop to receive, Rashford doesn’t do it in a central role and we’re suddenly with two midfielders and whoever inverts inside against a congested center. Zirkzee is immensely helpful right now with this. If he could finish even one of his chances against SOTON, he would’ve been MOTM head and shoulders above the rest. Sadly, his work in the box needs a lot of improvement.
@StatmanDave Another great video, thanks. Also, I'm interested your opinion on how ETH will accomodate and use both Zirkzee & Hojlund on the same line-up.
Why're we still trying to unlock Rashford at 26? Garnacho should be looking up to him. Salah played as an inside forward under Klopp with Frimino but was later tasked with playing wider since the arrival of Nunez and that hasn't affected his quality. Rashford should be having a matured game by now which I think he's kinda starting to do. We have two CF now, we don't need him to score or play in central areas, just affect the team positively. If he scores, it's fine but it's not necessary
Bruno needs to slow down his playmaking once in a while to allow others to take positions. We can see more control in the midfield with Eriksen in the last 2 games switching between quick counter attack and slowing down to retain possession and build up.
Bruno has never been the Orchestrator, really. He's always been the box-office playmaker. Retaining possession has never been his thing. His thing is to get the ball, and counter immediately.
That's like asking Zlatan to run in behind the defenders. 🤷🏻♂️ Every player has their strengths and weaknesses. Even De bruyne is not good at keeping possession, I don't see Pep dropping him because of it.
United need Eriksen back in the team. It's not a coincidence that Marcus lost his form after Eriksen lost his. The game against Barnsley highlights how important Eriksen is.
The Scholes like passes needed, Mainoo not at that level yet, Bruno might be better, when in posession, alongside Ugarte, and Mainoo more forward. Bruno as deep-lying playmaker. Like Eriksen was against Barnsley.
Great analysis Dave. I know it was only in the title but are we sure it's EtH's tactics and not Ruud's? Also, on the subject of what I wanna see more of … Eriksen!

It’s because ETH did something right in-game and that doesn’t happen all too often. Yes SOTON are a weaker side and yes that penalty save completely ruined them mentally(and it wasn’t a good take either), but they gave us a torrid time for about 30 minutes. Both Rashford and Diallo were pretty high up the pitch up to that point and it plain wasn’t working. They dropped noticeably deeper after that, I assume ETH used the penalty check to relay the message, and passing options became available. That midfield is still wide open and I’m kinda worried for the Palace game, especially after I saw Ugarte against Barnsley.

I think the opposite needs to happen You remember that terrible Rashford from last season? That was a Rashford who started the season saying he wanted to create more for Hojlund. He's not a good creator, but he's our best goal scorer (including both strikers) He needs to be more selfish; Hojlund needs to play to his strengths not the other way around
@Ebamber3 no rashford should play to hojlunds strengths or what's the point in a run in behind striker. Hojlund gets 20 goals minimum if he gets service.
Rasmus isn't elite enough to be the only goalscorer, he has no history, or evidence of getting into the 25 - 30 goals, a season, like Haaland or Salah, to " just create for Hojlund, and he'll score all our goals", there's no evidence, why we need to spread the goals around the front line
amazing content man, but from my observation, it all looks a bit too narrow, i mean i get that we want to move it quickly through those diamonds and run at that backline, but it just seems like we are sacrificing the ability to control the game in the oppositions half and really use the full width of the pitch cause rashford and amad are coming inside alot and our fullbacks are not flying foward.
Very happy United won last night but just hope people don’t get too out of hand. It was only Barnsley. Palace will be a big test whereas the Barnsley match was more of a short quiz

really? a decent game against barnsley, a solitary goal against southampton and suddenly he is back in form? he was still woeful overall in the games this season.
He's a low block counter-attacking player, yet, people complain about his defensive work rate, you need that in a low block counter-attacking team, he can't dribble apparently, well he's gonna also need that, if he's to be the outball required to beat 4/5 players when carrying the ball up the pitch, yet most of the goals he scored last Yr, came from winning the ball up the pitch, and him getting a pass near the goal and just instinctively shooting, he can't also be a low block counter-attacking player, yet apparently lost his pace 😂😂😂😂
@@jean-paulwalters8855 I understand but if you check some of our goals there look counter attacks but they are not it's called artificial county attack
It's an analysis of the two games, and what hopefully we'll see going forward into more difficult games. We were shit last season against all sorts of shocking opponents, so it is a change. Did you actually watch the video?
I thought Weghorst was a massively underrated player. He's a striker so he'll always be judged on goals but his off the ball play, tireless running and willingness to defend from the front can be useful to the team in certain circumstances. Granted he won't start every game when our first choice strikers are fit, I thought he'd be useful coming on as a sub to give the team some tactical flexibility
rashford misses 3 out of 4 chances ... all the time. he needs to work on his finishing ...simple . and pls dont praise him too much ,, cause hes gonna go back to missing everything , all the time .
I really like your analysis but sometimes you do a bit of premature ejaculation and contribute to the overhyping of the smallest things. United won (and Rashford scored) against newly promoted Southampton and League One club BARNSLEY ffs. Wait for a few more games before coming out with these? These 2 games isn't any "back in form". I really wish Rashford gets back in form though, nothing like an in form, lethal Rashford. The club already gets the biggest media focus for any club in the world IMO. These sort of prematurely hyping up something only creates more pressure on the coach and the players. United fans then contribute on the internet to the pressure on the players whenever there is a drop (which there inevitably will be with United). I am not saying this just on the basis of this one video, I have been following your channel for a couple of years now. Declaring every transfer "is a perfect fit" and hyping up tactics after 1 or 2 games is extremely biased. PS - Before anyone comes at me, I am a Man United fan
Clearly Rashford's is always other peoples fault and its up to the rest of the team to assure his form is back except for Rashford himself! This headline is the problem with ManUtd! English fans & pundits won't open their eyes to see what's right in front of them! Rashford is finished! Only wants to play with ball at feet otherwise the rest of you can play & bring the ball to him! What a disgrace!
Oh the reversed world of having a striker provide chances for a winger. Maybe they should have a center back as goal keeper too. Or maybe just realize that when you have selfish wingers you are better of with an extra midfielder instead of a striker. It worked quite well at the end of last season
Rashford is the greatest scammer in the history of football. His only ambition is money. He doesn't care about man utd or any silverware. He goes goal less for 50 games, complains on back problems and media bullying. Then just before a contract renewal discussion, he bags 10 gooals then the fan base c.. u mall over that and say he is better than Mbappe. The he gets that 350k. The cycle continues. I bet he will scam his way around until he is like 30 and at that point he will be on like 500k or some stupid money. Any who, he is smart after all his management is Jay Z and co, and they know how to get dem bags.😂😂😂
Wow, talk about premature ejaculation. Before the Southampton game, Rashford had an xG of exactly 0.0, but yeah he's getting back into form! Expected better from you Statman.
@@nikhilsasidharan4245 Rashford also has an xA of 1.5 and SCA of 6. He’s absolutely served up several amazing chances now for teammates that haven’t finished them.
Moreover our good attacking play are on dependent on rashford rather zirksee or amad creating goal scoring opportunity
Wait for 4-5 games then make video. 😃
Has been 4 games
Bro its only 2 games! Let's Chill
Where is he saying anything other than what patterns can be noticed? Nothing wrong with that
It's an analysis of the two games, and what hopefully we'll see going forward into more difficult games. We were shit last season against all sorts of shocking opponents, so it is a change. Did you actually watch the video?
Lol this video 😂
Pure delusion and pure bias nothing else.
😢
I thought Weghorst was a massively underrated player. He's a striker so he'll always be judged on goals but his off the ball play, tireless running and willingness to defend from the front can be useful to the team in certain circumstances. Granted he won't start every game when our first choice strikers are fit, I thought he'd be useful coming on as a sub to give the team some tactical flexibility
I need us to buy mbeumo by January, will prove important
rashford misses 3 out of 4 chances ... all the time. he needs to work on his finishing ...simple . and pls dont praise him too much ,, cause hes gonna go back to missing everything , all the time .
People need to stop the whole no identity narrative, it looks like we might start clicking very soon
He lets his bias show massively.
You are just obsessed with the lad.
And didn’t start him 😂Haha
Oh the reversed world of having a striker provide chances for a winger. Maybe they should have a center back as goal keeper too.
Or maybe just realize that when you have selfish wingers you are better of with an extra midfielder instead of a striker. It worked quite well at the end of last season
I like Rashford but you're doing him no favors making this video, it doesn't need to be news every time he has a couple good games
After two games they suddenly back on form 😂
@awsomegamer need friends?
mock as much as you can, thank you for the energy 😊
One league title in 34 years for Liverpool 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hrmm, and after three games some manager was going to be the greatest Europe had ever seen, or something like that…
There’s a lot of rattled banchester united fans here
Bro said mattsroui
Bro says "bro"
That’s not to say “22-23 Rashford is back!” or anything, but let’s not cherry pick the stats to make the lad look worse than he has been this season. He’s been good.
One good game against shitty team and everyone have gone crazy. Wait till we struggle against crystal palace.
u r about to be shamed
Zzz drop him for Garnacho.
This is terrible tactical analysis.
Back into form? He bagged against S’Hampton and Barnsley ffs. In a few months you’ll be reviewing what clubs should be buying Rashford next summer. He’s finished!
😂😂😂
This is so embarrassing 😂 Iv seen so many United fans getting so gassed beating Southampton and Barnsley 😂😂
We're happy. Not gassed as though we're winning everything. But the manner in which we won is a key improvement. What team do you support, and would you be happy to an improvement in your team in certain aspects, even though it's not conclusive.
@@mgasukihanwa841 it’s easy to look like you’ve improved when you are playing weak opposition
@@haidermahmood3829just gives them a bit of confidence mate
Oh for god sake come off it dude, 1 goal against (typically championship side) Southampton and a brace against league 1 Barnsley and suddenly it’s “He’s bAcK” “Ten Hag MaSteR cLaSs” 🤦🏼 calm down lads
Crapford and crapemiro will show their true form next week in the PL
Goodbye. . Subscribed with much hope ... not so promising contents.
