Yes RIP Legendary ones. I could not agree more, it was and will always be the best TV show ever made and I admit that I watch it whenever it is on TV and have them all on VHS and DVD. The whole premise of the show is actually a sad reflection of those ‘good old days’ ....young men having to leave their families behind to find work , the country was a mess and offered nothing for the working class , imagine if other countries treated our guys the way some people treat foreign workers in the UK today

Xnoob 2017 I love how they incorporate both Geordie and Pitmatic dialects within the series.We speak pitmatic where I’m from but Tim Healy Kevin Whateley and Jimmy Nail are all Geordies.The pitmatic dictionary is a dying language which came from the pits and the kids nowadays hardly speak that way.Its a pity in my eyes that it’s not being carried forward as most kids now around here sound as though they’re from further south

Joe Fagin, the Irish singer, sang it on the titles to Auf Wiedersehen Pet. That's why Tim got a laugh when he said "it's no good trying to pretend you don't know who you are" in an Irish accent before singing it.
Absolutely bloody fantastic. This show was and still is easily the best show on the box 👍🏻 mid nineties we had a contract in Düsseldorf and being from the Midlands, naturally I was ‘Barry’. Everyday was another episode from ‘Auf Wiedersehen. Great days!!

I recall reading an interview with one of the writers, he said the original storyline was intended to be a drama but as the team developed their characters it became clear it was a great comic story too..

Auf pet is my best ever prog sometimes i feel like i know the lads tim healy jimmy and kev are great trio they obviously get on well throw in tim spall chris fairbank very adaptable actors not forgetting pat roach and gary holton plus noel its a great mob simply the best never get bored watching

Ive never met tim, but watching his wonderful acting in everything he has starred in has been captivating. Auf weidersehen pet is a fantastic series. Whist watching it you realise that the cast & crew got on really well. Jimmy nail's character oz was hilarious at times. In a particular early episode, i have a vivid memory of oz kicking the jukebox in a resort club while the others look at him with bemusement, oz saying ''flaming agadoo man'' Tim healy, an all round terrific actor, entertainer who comes across like he wants to be your friend. He seems very down to earth. Always liked tim.😀
Watched every episode back in the day and didn't realise it was Tim who sang this. Even passed him on stair in the Recreation Centre in Eldon Square back in the late 80's... My claim to fame :)

That reminds me, I saw him at the Metrocentre bowling alley with his son in 1995, gave him a nod and he smiled.
