There's nothing wrong with only 12 seconds of cranking an engine, that's been sitting in a cold garage for almost 2 months, especially with a stock mechanical fuel pump and a carb without choke.
beautiful ill probably never get one its funny cause if i bring this car up at school no one knows what im talking bout sucks but it still looks and sounds amazing
Wow... She sounds so, so, so, so goood!!! It sure had no fuel in its carb after having been sitting for a while, but when she starts, god, she sounds healthy!!
People who are use to fuel injection don't realize that you have to pump the accelerator a couple of times to get some fuel into the float bowl of the carburetor to start an engine that's been sitting for a while. It's good to have a little starter fluid around also, to avoid burning the starter out with extended cranking.
If there is no fuel in the float bowl you can't pump anything with the accelerator pump. If the bowl is empty, it takes some time to fill it up again, no problem, actually good, as the oil pressure is already there when the engine starts.
You’ll break the starter this way!! Pump on the accelerator pedal 3 or 4 times… and then try the starter 3 / 4 seconds max… and repeat until the car starts
I want this car, mostly as a neat Halloween display to leave out in the yard as I let it sit there when raining (it rains a lot here and almost every. single. Halloween) keep a watch on it and just let it sit there with a rigged raido playing the songs from the movie and the headlights on.
Na, inzwischen schon in Ulm?
When it's been sitting for a while like that. Pop the air cleaner top and pour just a little gas straight into the carb and you won't burn your starter up. Nice car for sure.👍🏻😎
My dad had a '57 Plymouth Plaza six-banger, with no garage on a cold New York morning in 1958. The Chrysler starters always turned slowly anyway, but this morning, it had it. Crank, crank, crank and blah. Now the old man is late for work and mad as hell. Like 'Ralphie's' dad, I remember a lot of curse words and "that God-damned Plymouth would freeze up in the middle of the Sahara on the fourth of July!".Could have just been a low battery from the cold, but trickle chargers were not yet available then. After that, he bought two Studebakers, a '59 and a '63. ,
I once had a gorgeous copper colored '76 Dodge Royale Monaco Brougham in Massachusetts and after I switched to synthetic oil she fired right up in the dead of winter cold like it was July.
Konnten sonst nirgends Schrauben entdecken und will halt nichts verbiegen. Danke schon mal im voraus
Are those Glasspacks or stock? I'm not that much of a Belvedere/Fury fanatic I mainly like other Mopars but the Belvedere/Fury surely do make it on my list for cars I would use to run some Shitters down :)
No glaspacks or cherrybombs on that car. the exhaust is not stock and was cobbled together by a previous owner. the only thing I can say is that the mufflers are smaller than the stock mopar ones (which are really long) and say "Made in USA" on them but no brand.
2 years ago the owner of Bradley farms in Southport NY sold his 1963 chevy hearse to a car collector in Rochester NY. That guy restored it it is done and looks beautiful. I respect people that don't leave antique vehichicles sit and rot. I also have a video on youtube it is titled Robert Gildea preaches. Your friend in Jesus Robert Gildea Romans 6:23
If you're so smart then go on and tell me all the differences between a Belvedere and a Fury and what cars were used during filming? In fact they bought more than twenty 1958 Plymouths, most of them were Belvederes and Savoys, only a few were actual Furys, although they had no badges at all. In the movie Christine had door knobs, which these cars never had in real life and in the book Stephen King refered to Christine as a 4dr Fury...which never existed in 1958. In the end, I don't give a s*** because there is nothing you can tell me about this movie that I would not already know. ;)
Is the starter stock or aftermarket? Did the Chrysler Corporation cars of the 1950's not make the terrible sound cranking over that the Chrysler products made in the 1960's and 1970's?
CHRYSLER began using their own in house built gear reduction starter in 1962. That's the one that had the distinct sound. Prior to that, they sourced their starters from outside vendors that were of the direct drive type that sounded like GM and FORD starters at the time. Eventually, GM and FORD began using gear reduction starters as well.
I had a 1962 Dodge dart that always took 5 minutes to startup, and people going by when they asked me what was wrong with it, I would tell them that was just normal for an American car back then...lol
The engine has a problem with the fuel supply to the carburetor. It would be good to put at least one non-return valve on the fuel line that supplies gasoline to the carburetor, just after the tank, so that fuel does not escape into the tank when the engine is turned off. And the engine will then fire on the so-called touch.
@@dordor718 Just humidity under the distributor cap and on the ignition wires. When it warms up the heat would dry out any moisture. There's a sealing spray for that and other measures that you can take.
Got to keep christine warm
Love and miss the sound of those 50's mopars
i love Christine
Don't worry, she'll start. Somebody had to say it.
"She'll start but you will need these" (hands arnie keys)
Now that’s a car I would totally respect and have it for myself

BEAUTIFUL PLYMOUTH.. CHRISTINE IS A LIVE🚘
Beautiful
There's nothing wrong with only 12 seconds of cranking an engine, that's been sitting in a cold garage for almost 2 months, especially with a stock mechanical fuel pump and a carb without choke.
That's why the chrysler motors lasted the oil was circulating before it starts.
Put it on a battery tender or a heated garage
No choke? Was it automatic or didn't it have any form of a choke?
Love that startup sound!
@@davidv5510 In some videos you can see he owned an automatic
I would so love buying and owning a plymouth fury! Definitely my dream car!
Work of art
One of the best car engine sounds on the planet! Love the car too 😎

Remember she was temperamental in the iconic movie!
never mind all that....beautiful car boys and girls!! yes it is!!
A great movie, it's every mechanics dream to watch a car rebuild itself. Like barbers when they watch Edward Scissorhands for the first time. 😏
beautiful ill probably never get one its funny cause if i bring this car up at school no one knows what im talking bout sucks but it still looks and sounds amazing

Christine had me at hello 😀😘🙀
Gorgeous ❤🥰
Beauliful sound !!!
"OOOO... that car looks so evil!!"
Oh darn it I noticed scuff marks high on the fin in the white paint. She's still gorgeous though. Idle a little low? Choke not set right?
Superbe voix rauque !
What size motor does she have in her? She's beautiful!!
i luv the fury...sounds like a monster is hiding under the hood
That is true when it’s Christine
Yeah christine
@Hammerschlägen M Yeah, that's a belvedere. Fury's never came in red (or any other color) until 1959.
Absolutely!
Nope just Roland lebays soul
(I wonder why by Dion and the Belmonte starts to play)
AHHHHHHHHHH Great!!! That sound!! goosebombs.. i wish i lived in the usa
hhummm this sound...like in the movie!
The starter and the complete drivetrain is stock. She often makes a clanking noise when firing up but I got used to it... :)

Looks like a cat waking up from a nap. Before the nononono starter lol

Hello Christine 👋
Took a while for the fuel to get back up after sitting for a few weeks it seems.
When it's been sitting for a while like that. Pop the air cleaner top and pour just a little gas straight into the carb and you won't burn your starter up. Nice car for sure.👍🏻😎
I'm 19 I have read the book and watched the movie at least 20 times you would be surprised by some people who would know this
She knows u been sitting in other cars. Your mine....and we belong together. Yes we belong together for enternity.
You're right, just an old 318 Poly with a 2bbl setup...:)

that was a fury

You are so right. Had a 57 Plymouth and if it even looked like rain it would not start. Very cold blooded, but when she warmed up ran like a top....
