Yesterday i officially became a cadet (30 sqn ATC) and right at the end of our first parade in uniform this plane flew over. It was so perfectly timed it was like it was meant to happen (It wasn't though its because my cadet unit is based at Whenuapai so it might of been landing).
+Toby Corbett Congrats man!! It just happened to be the perfect coincidence this was landing at your first parade. It was doing an overnighter before flying back to Ohakea today.
I can't tell you how many of these little guys I've fueled!! I met one pilot who was flying from Canada to Mexico in one of these. They'd take roughly 150gal and then we'd add a few extra OTW(Over the wing). When they came in, we'd always get at least 10 of these in at once. Great video! :-)
MiJiT HD Yes sir! I've fueled a lot of military aircraft! F-16, A-10, F-15, F-18, AH-64 Apache, Cobra's, Huey's, Black Hawks, KC-10, KC-135, C-130, T-38, Harrier, and that's just the beginning. :-)
ryan moeller I guess would spend a lot of time when not refuelling, just watching the airport activity. I wish just watching aircraft was a job. I would definitely apply for that lol.
I think RNZAF should at least arm four of their 11 T-6 Texan IIs into counter-insurgency light attack configuration, (I am pretty sure that a T-6 Texan II Light Air Support Variant is more combat capable than a cold-war era Strikemaster Jet), so NZ army and Royal New Zealand Navy can have basic form of close air support.
I wonder what combat an aircraft is capable of in 2018 when it is about as fast as a 1940 fighter. it would be a very basic close air support and probably no better than a helicopter.
Argentina is selling pampa lll gt light attack fighters very cheap but reliable.it could be armed long range anti ship middles.be great for rnzaf.love from Australia 🇦🇺
Because all the aircraft we operate have glass cockpits now so may as well train to use technology that will be used later on in other aircraft that the trainees move onto
I agree with some of the comments , some of these need to be armed. NZ should have 8 armed I believe. I think it's crazy that AUSTRALIA & NZ don't have a turbo propped close air support wing of the same aircraft. Same load out capabilities. AUS should have 20-32 . I don't believe this is the best model for the CAS or COIN role though. C'mon AUS & NZ work something out before we need them. There's a arms race going on in the Asia- pacific region & we gotta step up.
It does not fit the narrative and direction the NZ govt wants for the NZDF. Unless something happens, like war with China. The NZDF will end up being reduced to a civil defence force with even less than the woeful current capacity to fight.
Looks like a crop dusting plane. Piece of shit compared to what we had... Looks like if the shit ever hit the fan we'll be sending those to get blown out of the sky. 💯
How i miss working on this platform...Was there when we developed the B model...hence the C model for international customers..

+ryan moeller That sounds great. I would love to work on these little machines. Thank you!

ryan moeller That's quite a few lol It must've been a great experience working with all of these aircraft.
MiJiT HD Oh yeah!! Haha. I miss it so much! I've also fueled a variety of airliners and a ton of civil aircraft!! It's so fun!!

This plane flew over my house yesterday it sounded really nice
+Josef Engle Did you also see it today when it flew back to Ohakea?
Nah I was at school
Josef Engle Oh ok.
Awesome video! Engine does sound really good
Amazing DJ! Each fine I went to whenuapai we couldn't get in haha. Liked!
DJ?? LOL. Maybe because it's a military base haha :')
+MiJiT HD (Auckland Aviation) sorry mijit. I watched DJ's video before this and got mixed up. sorry!
AeronauticalAce HD No problem mate!! I thought that might be been part of the reason.

@@barrierodliffe4155 It's a lot cheaper than a helicopter, and requires less maintenance ...

I get that it is cheap, great for a poor country.

Yep, niceeeee! :D Sweet video, buddy!
+Aviation NLNZ Thank you buddy :)
I see these flying low in my backyard most everyday.
Nice takeoff video! Is there any model reviews coming up.
+Hung Tran Thanks! I have 1 on the way soon. Air NZ ATR 72-600 "All Blacks".
whats the diff between Embraer Tucano A29
The name.
Some small differences. Stall speed and top speed are different, Tucano has 5 props whilst this has 4, some wing/fuselage differences, avionics, etc.
Great video!! The aircraft looks nice! keep up the good work. Liked. Almost at 2500 subscribers:)
+Gurpreet Lamsar Thank you!! Yeah I'm getting closer.
Awesome! :)
+AussieAviator Thanks!!
Good job..
Why do we have these when we have no jets for pilots to step up to
Because all the aircraft we operate have glass cockpits now so may as well train to use technology that will be used later on in other aircraft that the trainees move onto
P-8A is a jet. B757 is a jet…
hahaha ...could have been the launch customer for the scorpionjet and got thrice the aeroplane for the same money.
Looks like a A29b
Nice
+Cyril Uebbing Thank you!
Isn’t this supposed to be Piston Engine but its a Jet turbine 😂🤤

Big Gun yes arm them with 50cal and missiles or rockets?

Ah, the T-6C Texan By Beechcraft. Loved by low budget movie producers when they ain’t got cash to rent a real jet fighter.
Where are the guns?
+R Greenup Each pilot carries an assault rifle.
Can't see any firing ports, do they open the canopy to shoot?
That’s cool, but “TRAINERS” are useless in a war, NZ has zero fighters !!!!
ok?
Watch out Putin!! We're ready for you...
Looks like a crop dusting plane. Piece of shit compared to what we had... Looks like if the shit ever hit the fan we'll be sending those to get blown out of the sky. 💯
Strap a machine gun to each wing and we're sorted LOL (not really)
Nice
+Ultimate PlaneS Thank you!
you're welcome
