ESPN's Chris Broussard Says Being Gay Is "An Open Rebellion To God"
"ESPN's "Outside The Lines" host Chris Broussard said that he would not consider Jason Collins, an NBA player who announced in Sports Illustrated that he was gay, to be a Christian (video below).
In Sports Illustrated, Collins wrote: "I realized I needed to go public when Joe Kennedy, my old roommate at Stanford and now a Massachusetts congressman, told me he had just marched in Boston's 2012 Gay Pride Parade."*
Jason Collins has come out as the first openly gay NBA player. Of course, this going to cause people in the sports world with anti-gay feelings to come out, like ESPN reporter Chris Broussard who calls homosexuality an "open rebellion to God." Cnek Uygur and Ana Kasparian break it down.

Any sin is a rebellion against God! Its up to each individual to pray, repent, and daily walk with Christ

something i think that gets lost on us, americans, is this. you can support same sex couples, and their rights, while also supporting chris broussard's rights to say what he is saying. i think both are very, fundamentally, important. what makes us "the land of the free" is our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. same sex couples getting married, or doing whatever, don't infringe on any of chris broussard's rights. AND, broussard's comments about those couples being an open rebellion to god don't infringe on any same sex couples' rights. we need to consider these things when we hear someone say something that makes us uncomfortable. or, if we see something we disagree with. you're allowed to disagree, and they're under no obligation to watch their mouth so that you always feel comfortable. period.

I think Chris was being honest. And, he makes some good points. "One" thing I disagreed with him on is when he said that because of someones actions they are not a christian. That was too rigid IMO. I drink beer. I occassionally "cuss." ETC ETC. I'm pretty sure we all know we shouldn't. So, my "fruit" is not 100% spot on. I hope that doesn't mean I'm not a Christian. I do wonder if someone is completely 100% unrepentant where there head is at - so, that is a good point Christ makes. I know this, Chris has every right to have his opinions. People love to "shoot" guys like Chris down - and, that's not fair either.

I completely agree. Being gay is a lifestyle that does not represent Christ in any way. God desires for a man to be with a women... NOT ANOTHER MAN!

Religion is like a penis, it's fine to have one and be proud of it, but please don't go waving it around in public.

We try to paint God the way we want Him to look. He was clear in the Bible about what His expectations; what pleases Him and what does not. People always try to fit God into what they w'ant to do. To change the Bible to feed their own lusts. Read the Bible and see for yourself what it says. You don't have to agree with me. I didn't say it God did. Chris should be applauded for having the conviction to stand up and say what he believes. That's the real "hero" to stand for what is right. Bravo!!

Hypocrisy is the correct spelling my good sir, oh and you used the word in a wrong way. A hypocrite is someone who supports something or supports being against something but they do the same thing. Also your saying any straight couple can hold hands or flirt in public but gays can't. I mean me myself i'm straight, but i believe the saying of America, everyone is equal.

No. Christians repent. Living a sinful live, living in sin, is not being a Christian.
