It really chaps my azzzz” it’s like playing the ballad part of free bird then shutting it off when the tide begins a shifting & it gets epic. All except the ballad part. As there is zero part of heartbreaker or living lovin that’s anything near ballady, actually heartbreaker has the greatest solo in history & well you just never want the party to stop. In my opinion Babe I'm Gonna Leave you is some of Plant's most powerful and bad ass singing. Those early Plant dynamics of the 69 and 70 era would very quickly be lost going into the early 70's there were notes he couldn't hit anymore.
He’s vocals are exploding the speakers on that song and he literally delivers the drama of the story, very few singers could actually deliver the story that song is telling with their voice, Plant was the best at it, very close would be Freddie Mercury and Ian Gillan, but Robert was better than even those titans…

I find it more likely that his vocal track on "Babe, I'm gonna leave you" was so solid in the studio that he refused to attempt it live being that he didn't believe he could live up to it. Thus didn't want to disappoint anyone in attempting to do so, most importantly himself.
Musically, especially when I started playing in the Early '70s, none of their music is that difficult to play. Some of it's a little confusing if you your style isn't blues based. But it's all pretty simple. Love led Zeppelin, one of my favorite bands.
