    Hi Greg, just a quick question. I understand that you cant screw into clear apoxy, but with dark apoxy can you put the screw inserts into the apoxy aswell as the wood, I see some of your tables with no wood in the corner areas and wondered how you connect the stand to the table top. Not sure if you can see the screw inserts on a dark apoxy.

    • @keithlakeman5337
      @keithlakeman5337 Рік тому

      He answered this in his recent video. You can screw into any color epoxy. The reason most don’t do it in clear is because you’ll see it in the epoxy. So, Yes, you can screw into dark epoxy.

    Hello,
    Absolutely beautiful table. I noticed, at least in the order of the video, you applied a layer of finish to the wood before you started your sanding and polishing of the epoxy. I'm building an office desk right now; a river, waterfall desk, and I am considering polishing the epoxy and finishing the black walnut with a satin Rubio Mono-Coat but I am concerned with the polish effecting how the wood takes the Rubio, and vice-versa how the finish might effect the edges of the epoxy.
    Would be willing to tell me in what order you do things with your polishing and finishing and have you ever experienced this process messing up the edges of either one?
    Thanks, Gary

    When you said that the underside was done, and were turning it over, I couldn't help but notice all of the lines in the epoxy from the "router sled"... did you end up sanding and buffing them out? Honestly, if you left them in there, despite all of your effort and fancy tools, I'd say that you'd lost your passion for creating works of art... and if I were your customer, I'd be pissed. If you chose to fix it and do the right thing, then good on you... I really appreciate your craft... just noticed the lines and thought I would see if you'd corrected them.

    • @diywithgreg

      This is one of those “let me kick you in the nuts comments”.
      Did you see the end result?
      Did you see any cnc lines?
      Its because when i said the underside was done, it was done, that cnc lines you saw was the top of the table where we still had to start sanding from scratch.

      From reading your comment, one would assume you have no idea how these tables are really made. Do you think he'd go through all of the work and NOT sand out the flattening lines? It's obvious that's the first thing he did after he flipped it. I didn't see him apply a finish to the wood either but, I don't ASSume he left it raw. SMH.
