You said something I always taught. And you are the first one that said it. Kensington has a sound that can be compared to Cold Play and sometimes they even sounds better.
Another great Dutch band is Direct. Nice sugestion is that Direct and Kensington did a small cover compilation on the Amtel Live event. It is a 16 minute video with several well known songs.
Ahhh, Kensington and Nothing But Thieves, my 2 absolutely favorite band of all times. Unfortunately Kensington parted ways last year with the lead singer, Eloi Youssef. They have been a solid band for 15 years, released 5 studio albums and have been around touring doing amazing live shows. We'll have to see if and in what way they will continue. Casper, the guy on the piano and backing vocals has also a great voice and he also plays guitar. But Eloi's voice is something special, he's incredible live. I would recommend to watch any live song from them, some of my favorites are: "Let Go", "Island", "St. Helena", "Uncharted". You can also watch somthing a little bit different: 2 bands coming together in a live show for New Years: Kensington &Di-rect at "Live bij Vrienden van Amstel Live (2020)". I saw below someone else recommending Nothing But Thieves, they are definitely worth checking out. They just released their 4th studio album a few months ago and their entire catalogue is nothing but good songs (tee hee). Us fans are in agreement that they cannot make a bad song, everything that they released so far is so so good and very varied. It's not a band that sounds the same every album, there's a lot of mixing of genres and a lot of experimentation. Not to mention Conor's voice that is out of this world.
Within Temptation is imo another great Dutch band, they have been around for multiple decades now. You can't say it's a rock band, more like symphonic metal/rock, although they have wandered into other genres as well. They have multiple great songs, but if you want to stay close to rock, start with their song Faster.....
Hey, nice song here, I’ve not seen this band before. Actually when I saw the thumbnail I immediately assumed it was going to be “Sorry” by “ nothing but thieves “ now that’s another great song with haunting vocals 👍🇦🇺🤘
@@spinnymathingy3149 I did! It’s on my list, but I kinda tend to just cherry pick rather than work my way down it. Reason being, it lets me have a mix of genres all the time. If I just went in order, you’d have 8 metal songs followed by a bunch of Taylor Swift etc.
I have the same look everytime I listen to this song as I have a perfect memory which matches this, hurts. Why this is not a global hit I can't understand. Other Dutch bands? Check out The Gathering (Eleanor, Strange Machines, Broken Glass).
@@markabusireactions And I am 72 and you ( and a lot of "young" people ) do speak unbelievable fast. For a non native English speaker, it is almost impossible to follow. That being said. Kensington is top and thank you for your reaction to them.
@@ajmavb I’m sorry! My accent doesn’t help, but I do try and speak in a way that will be understood lol! My normal accent is actually thicker than I use on the channel
You should see Kensington and Di-rect together in a collaboration Amstel live
See through; "A faded memory"
Very soothing song. Also, though the singer is Dutch, his English is exceptionally good!
I think he has a lovely voice!
Great song and reaction. I suggest to review Di-rect with soldier on. Another great Dutch band.
I think I have them on my list! And thank you!

Huh, that’s interesting! I’ll look into making a video of that, thanks for the suggestion!

Well, I loved it, so… keep your eyes peeled for more!
May I sugest to check out the project "Ayreon " by Arjen Lucassen from the Netherlands, he also does" Guilt Machine " and "Star One".

Now the are definitely out of the box

Other very good Dutch bands are Epica, Within Temptations, Blackbriar, Delain, Direct, Racoon and many others.....❤
I’ll need to look into some of these, see if Holland has the best indie music

Uncharted live from Kensington is much better!
It's about a ex relationship and all the things he COULDN'T give. Probably because he is/was a borderliner..
Why the F.... do young people speak so fast ??? Ridiculous !!!
I’m 40…
