I've just binge watched this entire series over the last 3 weeks and it hit me that I've been watching you since 2014 when I was still in school. Much love Shack. I've loved going from watching you play games I couldn't get, to now having those games and coming here just to pick up gameplay tips
Shack I've been playing Thrawn's Revenge lately, I think you should definitely continue this campaign in that as the Pentastar Alignment. they are situated in the north which is your main area of influence. Plus they can build Venators.
I love your interpretation of dathomir. Its not so much of a sith planet, moreso one of star war's few Death Worlds. Plus the Dathomirian Witches are just that. Witches. While generally using practices considered incredibly taboo (necromancy) their goals are more focused on benefiting their immediate area, or some obscure goal, rather than sheer evil or harm.
I loved the B1s on Serenno. My headcanon is that some of the friendly nobles decided to chip in some forces to help the Empire, and since it is a former CIS world whose nobility was known for using tons of security droids, old CIS equipment was the best they could send.
@@glenmcgillivray4707 AATs were, all things considered, relatively common post war. We know the Alliance used them, in TBB we saw an odd variant used by Trandos and the Empire used a similar tank in the 2014 comics. On Cato Neimodia during the Sequels, Neimodian nobility had access to Vulture droids and B2 battle droids. It wouldn't be surprising if the Empire allowed friendly PSFs to have access to their older equipment.
Reason why I'd imagine Serenno's map is the way it is is because it's Count Dooku's homeworld, which would explain the battle droid factory and some of the partially bombed out ruins.
Republic Juggernauts were designed to be APCs, Mobile Command Centers and Breakthrough Armor. The Republic loved multi-classing their military. I liked the Serreno ground map, especially when the main base is on the grounds of Castle Serreno!
You need to read what the rebels/Black Sun can build space-wise on the planets they have, i.e how likely it is they can build capitals or not. That battle with the rebellion played out that way because the only thing they could build in that pocket was lower tier ships, so lots of bulk cruisers.
Serenno having an abandoned Droid Factory is really cool as it was Count Dooku's homeworld. And it gave quite a few B1 units and AATs and that is really cool.
37:28 after battle report: the captain of the Arrestor disobeyed orders and got his ship destroyed by the rebel forces not only that but, it opend up holes in the line allowing rebels to strike causing major fleet loses, this captains attempt at seeking glory is the cause of the imperial defeat, his escape pod was recovered it is our recommendation he report to Lord Vader for discipline hearing
Black Squadron log: Our formation has officially been renamed to Black Squadron, as previously we didn't have one because we were attached to Lord Vader. We also finally saw combat for the first time in a while, and what combat that was. We received reports of an ambushed convoy near some no important moon, the attackers were none other than the rebels. We responded quickly and faced the ambushers in open battle, unfortunately, they were prepared. The forces on the ground suffered heavy loses from a combination of fierce resistance and smart tactics, ground group punched back but it could only do so much with how quickly the whole thing went, to make matters worse, the ship, which had crashed on the surface, was already looted, thankfully the crew was okay. We did not fair much better. Almost the entirety of fighter compliment along with their Gozandis was destroyed, we were only thing that was left. Apparently, the rebels that did all this are an ex-mercenary group known as the Wolfpack, modeled after a clone trooper formation, if I understand it correctly. We faced off against their air wing, Fang and Hound, I hate to admit that they gave us a hard time. This was the first time we faced them, but it will not be the last, we are all sure of it. For now, we orders to move on Malestare, as the Black Sun is attempting a comeback and we need to stop it. Shed, indespite of his foolishness, has managed to consolidate the North and maybe we would be able to receive supplies in bulk once again, in the mean time, we have pirates to take out. Log ends. Sülker: That actually fun! Bolfer: I call dips for next time. Joyce: As much as I like it, it's nice taking a break. Sülker: It feels a little wrong that I didn't include some of the more personal things that happened. Zagael: This is to describe the military history of the formation, not for gossip. Depending on if the civilians were organized to defend themselves from invasion beforehand or if they were unorganized and just picking up weapons to protect themselves due to the current invasion makes a difference. If they are organized conscripts or volunteers then they would be a militia. If they just decided to pick up arms and resist the current invasion they would still be civilians. Civilians who take up arms to defend themselves against an invading army are considered to be in a state of levée en masse. This makes them lose the protections offered to civilians during wartime but they are not officially soldiers associated with an army or militia.
The idea of assault transports is that they can transport troops to a site and then use their weaponry to clear the LZ. Fast scouting is a bonus feature, but if they come across any enemy unit with armor or rockets/missile, they're toast. They will eat any unarmored infantry or soft vehicles for breakfast. Using them to patrol convoluted infantry paths with lots of militia/irregulars is also good. They will eventually take down structures, but if enemy infantry shows up and they don't switch targets, they can be taken out. Do not leave them alone in an advanced position as they can easily be sniped if you forget about them. In the battle for Serrenno, you missed many opportunities to leapfrog your troops forward using air transport. One feature I would like to see added is the ability to airlift ultraheavy units like ATATs or artillery.
So at this point, you've effectively managed to get the remaining map split into 3 zones: Southern Rebel-dominated space; a SE BS/Rebel area on the south of the Hutts; and the NE BS/Rebel space north of the Hutts. Assuming the Hutts don't elect to go on the offensive, that would allow basically just focusing on one area at a time, or poking straight at the Hoth end of things and letting the two more contested zones fight amongst themselves.
