So much better. Some people may say, “it was better before” but I see so many pieces in these traditional finishes that just sit on marketplace. That is the true test, what people are willing to pay for.
It came out really great and your staging is on point! Algonquin is pronounced Al ( like the name), gone, and Quinn ( like the name). It’s an old Indian tribe from my area.
I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with a hutch like this that I have that needs a makeover but didn’t want to do farmhouse, or colorful, or dark and moody 😂 this is perfect! Thanks for sharing.
Found your page on IG because a coworker sent me the latest antique you died black, i loved it! Now here, you have a new fan and follower. Amazing hands! :)
Looks amazing compared to the original state of the furniture. I love how you manage to give new life to these retired pieces most people would probably just throw away. Oh and it's pronounced [AL] + [GON] + [KWIN] - (I had to google it as I didn't know either!)
I had to chuckle when I saw your little helper. Once you do the paint wash, I imagine the grain will raise because the wood got wet. Is there anyway to smooth out the wood without removing the paint wash?
Beautiful job! Very nice and modern update. I couldn’t help but notice that you didn’t use any protective equipment? You have a beautiful little helper, please take care of yourself. I’m absolutely not criticizing you, just concerned.
Watching this makes me happy. Keep up these interesting projects.
We love how you restored it! The lighter wood turned out beautifully. A dream hutch to have 🤩🤩🤩
A huge improvement, great job, looks beautiful. 👍

My area too 😊😊
Thank you!!! 😂 I struggle every time to say it. I wasn’t aware of the origin of the name, that’s amazing!
This turned out amazing!
Great job! Beautiful! 😁👏👏

I learn a lot from your videos, thank you!
Thank you so much for watching! Please let me know if there’s anything specific you’d like me to cover
Looks fantastic. I am currently stripping the paint finish off of my bedroom furniture to go back to a natural wood look. I may try a warm paint wash.
Love love love this
Love the lighter wood! It’s gorgeous!
I think so too!

Sweet 👍🏼👍🏼
Nueva suscriptora, saludos desde México 😊😊😊😊😊
Great job! What is that yellow thing on the can of top coat that helps you pour cleanly called?
Love!!!! Do you teach at all? Like individually? Love new look!!!
I don’t, but that’s why I started this channel! To hopefully help bridge the gap where short reels can’t go as in-depth as needed
What about the bubbles that rollers create. Do you go back and sand after top coat?

She’s always trying to “help” 🤣. It doesn’t usually, but you can go over it lightly with 400 grit tk even out any wood that splinters up!
I Love it!! But I can’t help but wonder what it would look like with a black wash to remove the yellowy undertones. 😊
I have a piece in the storage unit that I was just thinking about doing that too! I’ve never tried a black wash or stain before, I think I need to 😍
Beautiful, as always! What roller did you use to put the poly on with? I always have an issue when I put poly on top of my finished piece. 😞
I have the same question regarding the roller. When I use a roller, I always have bubbles in my finish.
I use microfiber rollers! My favorite thing about the Varathane top coat is how well it levels out, no matter what you use to apply it
Beautiful job! Very nice and modern update.

I wish I can help you ❤
