This was the last video that we made and my brain was pretty knackered by then and wasn't really up for the task. Apologies for my jumbled English.
No Need to apologise Peter, I got the information clearly. Is there to be another part of this where we see the making of the heads?
And if I may, what are your thoughts on Kent pattern axes?
I find the Kent pattern to be great for carving, just enough space near the head to snuggle your grip close to the centre of the cutting edge and gain that fine control.
Yeh it was a tough and full on three full days of filming, but you did amazing well and your English was perfect ~Peace~
New video is here dude - ua-cam.com/video/_s838I9iZBQ/v-deo.html
@@Zedoutdoors Hey mate - I have not watched the whole thing yet, some great info there so far, but no mention of forging - So does that mean Peter buys the axe heads in?
I have Peter’s small carving axe and it’s incredible! I recently ordered the larger carving axe. Can't wait to receive it!
Don't hesitate to order one of his axes. They will enhance your carving journey.
Thats awesome to hear and i'm eagerly awaiting my new axe from Peter too! ~Peace~
My gosh! As a knife and axe enthusiast, I found so many pearls in this video and your other related videos. Thanks for sharing!
Thats awersome to hear and I sincerely appreciate the kind words thank you ~Peace~
THis was really banger content. Thank you so much for sharing this. I harvest my own wood and make different tool handles. It's wonderful to have such an expert give this kind of advice. The little details like grain orientation, palm swell, and back curve take years to figure out on one's own.
Amen to that Derek and i've literally just published part two where Peter shows in detail how to make and fit a carving axe handle. Sincerely appreciate you watching and for your kind words ~Peace~
Well, well, well. Contrary to what Bruce Willis said, Zed is not dead.
Or, are we watching a Bush Zombie?
@@Reverend_Mojo Maybe he enjoyed getting medieval with Marsellus's men and they let him live.
Ha! ...not yet baby ...not yet
Absolutely love the soulwood axes! Thanks for sharing the knowledge, looking forward to the next part 🙏
Thank you kindly Liam and indeed his axes are the bees knees ~Peace~

You are very kind Nimai thank you :) ~Peace~
Thanks for the video Zed, it is very informative.
Thank you kindly Pepek ~Peace~
I'm making a handle for a hewing hatchet, and as I split the old plow handle to make it fit a hatchet, the splits followed the grain to shape it similarly to these carving axe handles. It's like the wood always wished to be this more artistic tool.
Thats wonderful to hear and indeed, the wood ultimately dictates what it wants you to do ~Peace~
It’s been awhile Zeus since I’ve seen anything from you looking forward to this mate you’re one cool dude
