I feel outraged that I'll probably never learn the "daqeeq" urdu to absorb the beauty of the shayri of the likes of Mir, Ghalib, Jaun just because we are so less exposed to Urdu. I remember in my Muslim majority school, Hindus learnt Sanskrit while Muslims learn Urdu. Looking back I realize that so much communalism has crept into our hearts and it has made Indians devoid of this beautiful language which stands for the development of composite culture thoroughout our history.

On the flip side, Sanskrit can also be a lovely language. Sanskrit shloks, well rendered, also sound divine. It's a matter of perception & exposure. So pl don't feel outraged. You can still learn and appreciate urdu. Or any language, for that matter!

I have read the comments where many people are saying that he does not have knowledge about what he is speaking. Well the point he is making is that none of the language over time remains same it changes with need time and popularity for example hinglish is being taught at some colleges of UK and America as a popular language of india. It does not mean that English or hindi is going to die because of hinglish that the very point he is making. People will choose whatever medium or language that suits them.
