Absolutely There’s nothing wrong with that cord and the ends are very easily replaced, keep it as a Backup! You can even put a new mettle plug on that end.

I get why you do it yourself. I had the same thing happen to me only difference was the air line instead of the electrical. I unraveled the lines myself and pulled it into a mom/pop shop and the guy working charged me $25 to help me put it back together like new. Not all shops are bad. Stay safe trucker and keep up the great work!

Hope you got a cord slightly longer than what you had. When you get the tractor 90 degrees to the trailer it was too short. Your air lines are coiled, so they can stretch out longer than the electric, which is not coiled. Next time before turning 90 degrees to the trailer, unplug the electric so you don't bend or break it. Don't need lights for 10 minutes maneuvering in a yard... Unless you know the new one is longer than the old one was.
I have to confess, I started watching this video 3 weeks ago and it was a disaster! So I thought, but I'm glad that I returned to watch the rest of the video. Because, you restored my faith in your ability take off the old light cord and replace it with the new one and braid it back together with the air lines! Other person rite. Don't throw that cord away. It's so easy to fix. Then you have a spare. N actually the metal ones go bad also. Usually corrosion. But yah save that for sure ..dey not cheap.. and zip ties rule!!! Lol! My good friend a head mechanic n his handle is ZIPTIE!!
Grab new ends from a Utility trailer sales place or any truck dealer will sale those ends for half to a quarter of what a truck stop will charge you also for the future! Also those medal ends they sale inside the Loves or every truck stop i had to replace them many of times when helping my brother in law

Its ok. It happens. I had a truck and the company used a hard point to hold the lines up, instead of the proper spring type and i snapped my airlines turing around. Different time i picked up a preloaded trailer and the person who dropped it didnt disconnect the power line and completely destroyed the trailer power box. Lost a hole day waiting for roadside to repair it and the company didnt use a big chain like loves or TA. A guy high on heroin showed up with his gf to fix it.
Definitely don’t throw that old electric cable out, just put a new end on it, probably what you should have done. It’s super simple but on the road you gotta roll! Also try not to put stuff off, it becomes a habit and before you know it you’re doing that on things you shouldn’t.
I gotta admit you did that shit girl and it looks good you can’t even tell one of the wires was replaced you gotta keep in mind wear gloves more often other wise great job

Don't throw away that cord . The end can be repaired cheap . Replace the end .. keep it for a back up cord

Dont get it too short or tight cause when hooked to trlr and turning, you can pull it out or possibly ruin it.

Replace both ends on that cord with metal plugs , always keep a spare pigtail and zip ties for this exact reason
