die sind leider immer aktueller als man möchte. Ich weiß noch, ich hatte einen kleinen Streit mit meiner Mutter über meinen Musikgeschmack. Und ihre Lösung war mir "echte Musik" mit einer echten Message vorzuspielen. Es war Udo Jürgens "Lieb Vaterland" und im Nachhinein muss ich darüber lachen, weil im Grunde waren beide Lieder auf derselben Wellenlänge. Die Ärzte waren nur lauter. @@drei-zwei-eins

This is a German anthem. Because the lyrics are against Nazis and Fascists and after 30 years sadly this is still true. The most oft Germany supports the things they say in the song

If you search for "Cry for Love" by the Chainsaw Hollies, you'll get an English version of this song from a tribute album. Their translation is still pretty close, but not completely literal and changes some references so you don't have to be steeped in German zeitgeist of the nineties to understand the lyrics. For example, while "Kuschelrock" is word for word correctly translated as "cuddle rock" in Anna's video, it's actually a popular series of samplers of pop-rock love songs and power ballads from the eighties and nineties.

It's unfortunately not a good translation to actually parse what the meaning of the song is, because it's mainly a literal translation and lacking context.

    • @gulliverthegullible6667
      @gulliverthegullible6667 Рік тому +10

It is a bad translation, but those lyrics are particularly hard to translate. It is also difficult for an outsider to grasp the meaning nowadays.

    • @Goldfire-tt3dv
      @Goldfire-tt3dv Рік тому

@@gulliverthegullible6667 The hardest part to translate is possibly in the final chorus, when they deliberately butcher the infinite form of "artikulieren" into "artizukulieren" (instead of the correct "zu artikulieren" used for the first two reditions of the chorus), which is meant to imply that Nazis are too stupid even to use their own language properly.
There's also a lot of reference to Nazi iconography which might at least in part be specific to German neo-nazis, since White Power supremeacists in the US might use their own (though similar) versions.
Also, lest I forget: FCK NZS!

    • @FreezingFx
      @FreezingFx 4 місяці тому +1

They really aren't. " Dich zu artikulieren " isn't even close to enuaciate. With one meaning wich words you choose and the other on how to pronounce them. And the Refrain " nur ein schrei..." wound't be " such a scream " ( .... so ein schrei nach liebe ) but " only a scream..." This is an awful translation wich sounds a lot like google translate tbh and no, those are NOT literal translations.

"Schrei nach Liebe" is *the* anti Nazi hymn up to this day but it's not the only anti Nazi song from Die Ärzte. They also have "Ein Sommer nur für mich" (A summer just for me) which isn't as powerful as "Schrei nach Liebe" but very fun to listen to.
    Lyrics:
Endlich kommt der Sommer wieder | Finally, summer is back
Wir freuen uns, wir knien nieder | We're cheering, we're kneeling
Die Vögel singen auf den Bäumen | Birds are singing in the trees
Mädchen tragen kurze Röcke, | Girls wear short skirts
das ist schön für alte Säcke | which is nice for old geezers
Die können dann ein bisschen träumen | They then can dream a litte * (*about being young again or getting some)
Doch immer, wenn der Sommer kommt, | But every time summer comes,
beschäftigt mich seit Jahren schon | I'm pondering for years now
ein eher philosophisches Problem | over a rather philosophical issue
Die Frage ist zu schwer für mich | The question is too hard for me (to solve)
Ich stelle sie jetzt öffentlich | I'm now asking publicly
Doch Vorsicht, | But be aware,
sie ist ziemlich unbequem | it's rather difficult/unpleasant
Scheint die Sonne auch für Nazis? | Is the sun shining for Nazis, too?
    Ich könnt's nicht verstehen | I wouldn't get it
Dürfen Faschos auch verreisen? | Are fascists allowed to travel, too?
Das wär ungerecht | That would be unfair
Können Rassisten etwa auch | Can rasicts also
den blauen Himmel sehen? | see the blue sky?
Scheint die Sonne auch für Nazis? | Is the sun shining for Nazis, too?
Wenn's nach mir geht, | If I had something to say (in this matter),
tut sie's nicht | it is not
Ich will 'nen Sommer nur für mich | I want a summer just for me
Alle wollen ins Schwimmbad gehen, | Everybody wants to go swimming,
barfuß auf der Wiese stehen... | stand on the meadow barefooted...
mit einem Fuß im Hundehaufen... | one foot in a pile of dog shit...
Jedes Jahr ist es dasa Gleiche: | Every year it's the same:
überall entblößte Bäuche | Naked tummies everywhere (you look)
Mein Schatz, ich geh jetzt Eise kaufen | My love, I'll go buy some ice cream
Und während ich die esse, | And while I'm eating it
seh ich so 'ne Nazifresse | I see another Nazi puss
Und ich wünschte mir, | And I'd wish
er würde implodieren | for him to implode
Jedoch tut er mir leider | Sadly, he doesn't do
nicht mal den Gefallen | me this favor
Und sein Gesicht bringt mich | And his face makes me
dann wieder zum Philosophieren: | philosophize again:
Scheint die Sonne auch für Nazis? | Is the sun shining for Nazis, too?
Dann kämen mir die Tränen | That would bring me to tears
Dürfen Faschos auch verreisen? | Are fascists allowed to travel, too?
Das wär ungerecht | That would be unfair
Können Rassisten etwa auch | Can rasicts also
den blauen Himmel sehen? | see the blue sky?
Scheint die Sonne auch für Nazis? | Is the sun shining for Nazis, too?
Wenn's nach mir geht, | If I had something to say (in this matter),
tut sie's nicht | it is not
Ich will 'nen Sommer nur für mich | I want a summer just for me
Ich will 'nen Sommer nur für mich | I want a summer just for me
I hope I translated it well enough for you to understand it. Sometimes it's not that easy because a word for word translation wouldn't make too much sense in English.

It's essentially an Anti-Nazi song, that describes them as posers who act violent because they are afraid to open up and love, because they are dumb and never got any love from their parents.
At a time where the brutal attacks by Nazis dominated the news, the songs narrative portrayed them as weak losers. It's been an Anti-Nazi Anthem ever since.

this song is not specific for one special person, its for rassists at all, they all are some like this..., little funfact, Die Ärzte was the most cencored german band in the 1980s-1990s.., but they never was some destructive, they just called truth with some black humor and with a lot of sarcasm fun..., today die Ärzte are some like an musical intutition in germany, well known, allways be loved from millions!
