As a French I can relate to the gatekeeping theory ! BUT I have to say that it’s really a Parisian thing you should visit the south ! It’s so much more welcoming and inclusive 😊
Great video, its the first ive seen of yours but I'm definitely a new subscriber. As a dane its great to hear that you enjoyed our capital, but the fact that you were so surprised that you weren't harassed on the street is a little sad. That should really be the norm and its depressing that it's not..
You forget how much younger cities like Copenhagen are compared to Paris for example. Everything is so thought out, because they've built everything new. In the older cities you have to adapt to the old buildings and narrow streets that were not meant for 21st century lifestyle. It's much harder to make them inclusive.
"After a plague outbreak and fire in the 18th century, the city underwent redevelopment. After disasters in the early 19th century when Horatio Nelson attacked the Dano-Norwegian fleet and bombarded the city, rebuilding during the Danish Golden Age brought a Neoclassical look to Copenhagen's architecture. After the Second World War, the Finger Plan fostered the development of housing and businesses along the five urban railway routes emanating from the city centre. Since the turn of the 21st century, Copenhagen has seen strong urban and cultural development, facilitated by investment in its institutions and infrastructure" - this is what I mean new city. In Budapest we still have bullet holes in the houses downtown from WW1-2@@zo_mar777
@@sndisfannarsdottir1743 I did not know, but it wasn’t even meant in direct comparison, more so to say that Copenhagen isn’t very planned out or build new, as it has a lot of old architecture and a medieval part of the city as well that isn’t very practical for 21st century life (cars fx) as well. But thanks for letting me know! Makes sense that Paris is even more complex then, if it’s that old
Your videos are always so satisfying to watch. Everything that’s talked about and where you travel just speaks to me. ❤

Copenhagen is not a younger city it was founded somewhere in 1100 :)

@@zo_mar777but paris was founded in the 3rd century before christ so it is a lot older than Copenhagen.
